My dad was a HUGE Beatles fan... He bought the DVD of this show when it came out... This was the first time I really sat down and listen to indian music... This is so good, I LOVE the sound of Sitar!
I have the exact same memory! My dad is also a huge Beatles fan and he bought this and put it on one day and I was blown away. We all were. Brought so many tears to my eyes ! Indian music is so beautiful and the timings and musical instruments they use are truly so beautiful!. I’m also obsessed with the sitar too!
This section of Georges tribute is incredible. It never seems to age, it's timeless music. Jeff Lynne was just amazing. Concert for George is one of the greatest musical tributes ever created. The love is so raw and so powerful.
I'm 72 years old, but I've never heard music so sincere. Many thanks to all contributors!!

I did not know the Indian section was downloaded to You Tube. This concert was the best tribute to any modern musician.GOD Bless all of the musical talent that contributed to this wonderful event at Royal Albert Hall in London.A special thanks goes out to Ravi, and his daughter Anoushka.Ravi composed the music, and Anoushka played the Sitar, and also conducted the Indian Orchestra.
تبارك الله ماشاء الله 🙏🙏🙏🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
At 17:28 I get a tear in my eye when Dhani Harrison Harmonizes with Jeff Lynne when they sing "Do all without doing."
Dhani sounds like his father!
It's as though George came from the beyond to sing that lyric.
This is the highlight of the whole concert for me!
Yes, part one is the best overall, love the Indian music. Jeff Lynne was amazing
@raulmacias6146
Al 17:11 tambien sincroniza con èl cuando voltea a verlo.
The songs from this concert, were the very first songs I've heard in my life
That section at 26:56 is pure magic.
I read an article about Jenny, Wren, and Paul McCartney, talking about hearing the Daduk. Which led me to looking this up and as it happens, it’s the same performer, Pedro.
Thanks for uploading it again. It was removed a few years ago. Happy to see it back.
love indian music so spiritual and relaxing greetings from Mexico George was a genius ...RIP
Not everyone is fortunate enough to enjoy this classical music!!💕
This is sheer heaven! I am breathing in the atmosphere, the talent, the healing energy, I feel I can taste, touch, smell, and submerge in it. With this painful world in which we live...I thank God for this. In peace xxxxxxx
Wow! How beautiful to listen to something totally out the box from the normal and find yourself bouncing away with the tempo❤❤
20:20 Vishwa Mohan Bhatt plays the guitar laying it down! It's a modified version of slide guitar and he calls it Mohan veena after himself
Sublime. Indian music at its best. Surely the greatest tribute to George! Salute to the maestro (memory eternal) and his gifted daughter.
Thank you so much for this masterpiece 🙏🏻🩷
Thank you so so much. Had seen the BTS of this concert and was searching all over internet a year ago. Finally got to watch and play over and over.
ENGLISH:
the sitar is such a unique instrument it has the ability to sound like many string instruments at once this was such an amazing and heartwarming concert
It reminds me of the tiger… so symbolic of India… 🇮🇳
Que emocion me dio al ver a Ravi Shankar
Beautiful!! In LOVE with your feelings!!😂🎉😢😅
Thanks a lot!!! My favorite part of the concert ❤
This was one of my father’s favorites. He always use to play this at the house ❤️
did not expect to see your comment here lmao
This is the true music feeling of George well beyond the pop music, the collaboration with Ravi Shankar is other worldly
What a beauty ❤️15:14....shehnai is absolutely magnificent ✨
Don’t know why this makes me emotional..great art and amazing people
My favorites were George and Ringo. They were the most spiritual, and they’re lyrics spoke volumes.
What a lovely concert! The beautiful magic of the sitar, the beautiful music, the journey of our spiritual life is amazing, George, Ringo, Paul., Anoushka, Eric... such beautiful music, such wonderful memories. Thank you. Obrigada. God bless each of you.
Das ist Gänsehaut pur!!! Diese Musik mit diesen wunderbaren Instrumenten und hervorragenden Künstlern ist Weltklasse!
Wow, this is honestly so beautiful. Just absolutely fabulous...thank you so much Anoushka et al. This was great. The big vocal/instrumental section had me in absolute tears...I could almost feel George's spirit ascending to higher and higher realms as I listened. A true joy.
Movement featuring Eric Clapton on acoustic guitar at 37:52, with his solo at 38:48.
Fantastic
Thankyou
Wish i was introduced to such a tribute and composition of music earlier. Both Sir Harrison's & Guru Ravi's soul would be resting in peace. OM Shanti 🙏
Would love to see Anoushka jam on a Fender
Lol Does she play guitar? If so, yes would love to see it
26:48 i imagined so much… this part is like the ending of a long day, after the sunset, and then when that low pitched flute solo begins… it’s like an owl saying “welcome to my nighttime,” and from there, each instrument is like a different animal from India, emerging after the owl solo. The sitar is the tiger. Shehnai could only be one thing to me… a peacock! Sarangi is an elderly elephant. Violins are the younger elephants. The slide guitar is a snake. The veena is a chital. The bansuri is all of the songbirds. The tabla and mridnangam are the rhinoceros and gaur with their heavy footfalls.
… and the sarod is a leopard!
George is one of my earliest favorite Guitar Hero....
So exicting ... Have not seen the real open to this concert till recently. I now feel more love and blessings. Much thanks . i love you all .love you George😅🎉😂😊😊😊
The DVD is a cherished possession of mine
Das ganze Konzert einfach eine Riesen Harmonie. Wow 😍🥰❤️
Excelente
One of the finest concerts🙏🏼 Great composition. Pranam to all on stage🙏🏼
that part with eric gave me goosebumps
23:36 The most heartfelt solo by the sarangi… makes me want to buy one… evocative of sunset. I may buy one.. I’ve only played violin for twenty years. Lol
LOVE YOU GEORGE❤️
we all love george still
Mais de 20 anos e ainda choro com esse show.😭😭
Beautiful that they did this for him. ❤
Obrigada por postar essa parte emocionante da introdução do concerto!!
Wow.
Anoushka's face is a complete copy of her dad's! This show was done so wonderfully :)
Great to see this finally on UA-cam... How many (non Indians) noticed that Indian musicians play without notes....😊.. just a different style... Not comparing here but enjoying the different styles....
proud of indian❤
It's as if India INVENTED melody and harmony- chanting Vedic verse is very ancient.
This wasnt just a tribute concert, it was a magical and sublime experience. Its one of those events I wish I attended. I hear this and it made my day better. Thank you !
UN RECITAL DE MUCHA lUZ HE ESCUCHADO Y CONECTADO CON PERSONAS DE PAZ QUE TRIBUTAN A UN GRAN MAESTRO DE LA MUSICA, GRACIAS POR ESTA OPORTUNIDAD RECIBIDA!!!
I wish i was there beautiful concert
When this concert first took place, my friend had the DVD and showed it to me. I was already interested in Indian music as I play violin… now 22 years later I can actually play Anoushka’s sitar solo on violin and slide guitar (dobro). Because we watched this so many times. Learned it all by listening.
We actually created an entire story set to 'Arpan' (the 20-minute ensemble piece composed by Ravi himself). Each instrument was a different animal of India, the singers were the people themselves… it seemed to fit so perfectly; it was magical. The story of India in a sense.
-The sitar was the tiger, so symbolic of the country and regal.
-The shehnai, with its loud and proud end energy, was the peacock, 100%. I still think of the shehnai as the instrument version of a peacock.
-The slide guitar, with its smooth, slinky qualities was the snakes, the cobras, vipers & pythons.
-The sarangi, with its 32 strings and multiple earthy tones, was the elephant.
-The various flutes and winds were chital, birds, and blackbuck.
-The tabla, mridangam and percussion were the monkeys; the langurs and macaques.
Very beautiful. Brings joy to the heart. Pleasure & privilege to witness it.
Shame on pbs for taking this part out of the tribute unless you ordered it on DVD the sitar was a very important part of his life and I don't feel that India got the notoriety that it deserved nor did George for this part so as an American I say shame on PBS how dare you leave someone's part of their life out of a video this is always hurt me just so anyone who wanted to see this part had to pay extra it's not right PBS is not what it used to be and this is disgusting embarrassment
you can find all 3 parts of this Event under the link above
I have been using this music to meditate by it's magic...
In this tribute no one is forgotten. That was perhaps the finest Harrisson's character trait.
Wish they played Within You Without You
I was thinking that too
bellisima cancion,Eric clapton wou disfrutemosla esta joya
"Inner Light" at 15:06.

23:35 to 25:14 epic

I could listen to Clapton solo all day. Trying to break it down myself
How does eric make that guitar sound like a sitar wow
Just beautiful! There are no other words
Uma obra prima 👏🏼👏🏼
Who is the guy on the tablas solo.
WOW me eriza la interprete del minuto 31, es hermoso
Siento lo mismo...
Magical music.
I was just wondering how many people know that Anoushka and Nora Jones are sisters? Both beautiful and talented ladies. I love Indian music, I love to sit back, close my eyes and let the mysticism transport me into peaceful moments. This had to be the most amazing concert ever performed. No ego's, just a sincere tribute to my favorite "Beatle".
🙏🏽
Cantan los hindues
AMAZING!!!
don't recognise these guests... they're all so old... would be nice to have them introduced
George’s mom use to listen to Indian music when she was pregnant with baby George……True
Lindo❤
Which raag arpan has?
Legends came here for 7:00 this part. HAIL @YogiBaba
I feel each and every note of Mr. Eric Clapton
Thanks you
Genius of Jambudvipa blazing whirls of sheer ecstatic bliss upon the bleak lead sky over a cold dark land. All other performers sounded like amateur selfish whining brats after this.
Your negativity really doesn't belong here. Calling players whining brats, when they are there to honor George makes you such a downer.
🍀
From Brasil very very good
2024 and she look the same
What is she singing at 30:51?
Who is singing around 25:40
too much spots on this girl
anoushka starts playing at 6:30
Awesome thanks
Es increíble ❤🔥🔥🔥
Where is the sound.
Do you know why this video gets deleted?
the concert all in one is blocked by the owner and YT
what is Eric Clapton doing there...???
Playing guitar
He was one of the best friends of George
Thanks for this
Whats the lyrics in 38:00 ?
the main chant is "jayaraj harisana preet kiya " meaning "we love George Harrison" . Ravi Shankar used to call George "Jayaraj"
Mi prenos vin kun mi
6:29 - 14:20
Thank you so very much
... it's a pleasure ..!
