The Bombay High Court has mandated the demolition of high-rise buildings near the Pune International Airport due to breaches of construction norms by the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporations. Concerns over adherence to height restrictions near defence-controlled areas prompted the court's directive, aiming to ensure safety and compliance.
The court emphasised the responsibility of the district collector and municipal authorities to conduct a comprehensive survey and take prompt action against unauthorised constructions near defence establishments, emphasising safety concerns and the need to uphold regulations established to protect vital installations like the Lohegaon Air Force Station.

Its always better not to purchase properties v near to river banks, lakes, nalas, airports and any other sensitive areas. You will always face some or other issues because of authorities. I don’t understand obsession around purchasing properties near to airport as if you are going to up down some city daily using flights. When you want to purchase property for self use, prefer properties when you will face less shor sharaba n pollution. River ke pass rahoge to smell ayegi, highway facing rahega to dhul mitti n sound pollution rahega, airport ko satkar loge to din raat awaj rhegi.

Incompetent and corrupt PMC officials. These officers are so foolish and lacking in morals that they grant construction approvals in sensitive areas like cantonment areas, airports, and dumping grounds.
Pune airport is vulnerable from Khese Park area from the security pov. PMC officials are providing permissions left, right & centre to high-rise office building on the main approach road of the airport. No wonder, people will miss their flights once these buildings start operating to their full capacity.
All the properties in Khese Park are normal bungalows which are under height restriction, except the new building which have come into construction in from last year and if you check majority of them are 100 meters away from actual boundary wall. And as per security the Airport should have never been opened for public also why always citizens always have to suffer, why not the government officials leave there 100 meter or 900 meter of land for security all around the airport and legally no body will be able to construct anything. Why forcing citizens who bought land and made home with there hard earned money.
All the properties in khese park ar not high rise buildings brother, before cement compound it was normal wire compound we used to spot Boarding flights from Pathan Baba , here main issue is high rise buildings near Airport in Viman nagar area
Government or defense should purchase the land on which they don't want high-rise buildings.
Land owner should have rights to utilize their property same to other people.

These PMC officials are utterly incompetent and shamelessly corrupt! Their complete disregard for ethics and common sense is appalling. They recklessly dish out construction approvals in highly sensitive areas like cantonments, airports, and dumping grounds. It's a disgrace!

@saudaghar iss hisab se toh Urban Skyline also comes under 2000 yards boundary of dehu ammunition area and plus it is a high rise i.e 40.storey tower .. any suggestions on that? because you didn't speak much about the dehu area .. can we know more about it pls?

What if the construction comes out to be illegal? Will PMC demolish it ?? It will be a nightmare for users and builder, and what will be the solution, will the users be given compensation and by whom.
In that case they will get some kind of compensation.. our judiciary is not that stupid to give one sided justice.

So these existing high rise will get relaxation but no new building will get approval... Government already knows, urbanization is going to happen and these British time factories going to be problem.

Military airport and ammunition factory within the heart of city was a terrible plan, they should have been shifted long back
Fact check lohegaon was never heart of the city, the city has expanded towards defence establishments and the development authorities should have thought of it earlier before thinking of only profits

They have all infra ready .. land is under defence ministry.. well connected with border areas via land/air/water ways... Why they will leave everything and start new base somewhere else ?? Iss hisaab se kal bologe forest bhi kahi aur bana do .. Hume building khadi karni hai.. National security is above all ..
