I love, love the time I spend with you! Your black eye is a badge of honor cause you are fearless and brave! Talk about skills, you’ve got them! You’re a teacher basically, you care, share to help others and I try to be right there talking back to you as I enjoy your visit with us & me!! Count me in! Take care, big hugs to all!

You are such a delight to watch each week! Take good care of your eye and pay attention to your vision … I’m an Optician and have worked in eyes forever!!!!!! Make sure you don’t see bright lights/floaters after an injury like that. You were so lucky where it hit! Love your sweater so much … it is absolutely beautiful Jen!

oooh, thank you so much for sharing!! luckily nothing like that so far but THANK YOU ... yikes, it could have been so much worse. I was thinking later on that I could have totally misjudged the distance of the car door because I wasn't wearing my glasses in the rain ... lesson learned. slow down, be careful, wear glasses!? (and thanks - that sweater is FUN.)

I’m sooo glad I’m not the only one who forgets what project is in what bag, or why I stopped, or…
If UA-cam has shown me anything… it’s that a lot of us crafters think, craft, forget … when it comes to projects! I used to feel “guilty” about not finishing or abandoning xyz projects. Not any more! Art and creativity cannot be forced, ideas pop up whenever or wherever. I’ve learned to go with the flow, veer off course, take detours, etc as part of my creativity.
A few years ago, I went thru several (ahem, no numbers please) WIPs, kits, yarns of all weights… I was flabbergasted! Truly- out of sight, out of mind! Vowed to do better. ahhh… maybe just a wee bit.
Thanks for sharing your “what’s in that bag” and “what will I do with it now…” dilemmas. I feel part of a “club” or group of others who do the same!
Hope your bruise heals quickly! Vitamin C helps rejuvenate (not sure that’s the correct word) skin cells, at least for me.
Annnnd I think I’m hungry for a grilled cheese sandwich!
PS: good anytime… heftier bread works best: lightly toast & butter. Place on baking sheet. Spread applesauce. Add thinly sliced ham if desired. Top with sharp cheddar. Broil just til cheese melts & bubbly w a slight browning. Absolutely Delish!

Hope you’re feeling better. The black eye was not a distraction. You are such a delight. Gosh, I really love that 1999 sweater, maybe I should start some Atlas projects to build up a scrappy stash😊. I’d love to see some of your dresses and a knitting retreat would be amazing ❤have a wonderful week!

Such a fun video - so glad you made it! The eye is no big deal at all! Sorry you did not find your hat! I can’t wait to make that 1999 sweater! I have lots of Atlas scraps, but not all the colors. Missed Dinah today! And your fiddle fig is getting tall again! Already looking forward to next Saturday, no pressure! 😊

Owie on the eye boo-boo! So sorry that happened. But I have a factoid about myself that should make you feel instantly better. I’ve been knitting since about 2003 and I am notorious for not finishing much of anything. I am sure I have a project or two from my first year of knitting. The last time I counted, which was about 2 years ago, I had 46 UFOs. So, by now I know it’s over 50. Well over. I did finish a bandana style cowl in 2023 and I did one mug rug at holiday time for a gift, and also two more mug rugs this spring, which were also a gift. My current active WIP is a baby blanket. The last baby blanket I started, the child is about to turn 10 years old on the 15th. Did I ever finish it? Nope. I think I have a higher degree of motivation on the current blanket, so we will see. The Baby in Question is due Aug 8 but I plan to deliver the gift around September 1. Then I will go back to one of my many scrappy blankets, or maybe the Christmassy scarf I started last year, but didn’t finish in time. So, see? Your UFO pile is tiny, and mostly do-able. You got this. Congrats to Bowie on playing Swen! I did not know that was a speaking part, either. I was picturing him playing either Christopf or maybe Olaf. But I hope you’ll be able to get a recording of that moose voice at some point. I would love to hear it. And, I definitely know about the tearing up when watching your kid perform. I’ve been watching mine since he was 10 years old and I still tear up. I can’t help it. It’s a mom reflex.

Oh no, your poor eye! It looks super painful.
You inspired me to look through my WIPs, and I found a half-crocheted baby blanket that I’m going to finish this week to give to my niece.
I’d be so excited if you made another book!

So good, The WIP parade was so enjoyable! I recently found a sweater that only needs the sleeves to be attached (with seams). It was from 20 years ago! Needless to say, styles have changed so I think I'll frog it and re-use the yarn. So sorry about your eye and the associated storms. So scary! Thanks for taking the time to answer questions and share info. You are a great story teller and so delightful to listen to. Take care.

Hi Jen Guess what? I have a black eye too, really, last week I fell outside. I'm not playing with my dog outside again!! My ribs hurt too. Love your wips. What I did was finish 3 items before I started a new one. And knit on socks for 1 hour everyday. LOL Slowly the pile goes down. Been knitting for more years than you are old. Hugs ann

Oh my goodness Jen! So happy your accident did not affect your eye…blessing. I have about 7 WIPs because I get bored or fall out of love with my yarn choice for the pattern (recently frogged 1 of my WIPs) or the WIP is using mohair, not a summer yarn in the Midwest summer. My oldest WIP is 1yr old and stocking knit in the round - boring.

Oh Dear your eye does look sore Jen, Glad you are OK . Q&A was good, omg all those wips, I’m a monogamous knitter, seeing all your wips was getting me a little anxious lol 😂 if I happen to not finish a project before the season changes into summer more than likely I will frog it when winter starts again as I tend not to like it or have any interest in that project anymore. It’s good that most of your wips you are still excited to finish. Take Care of Yourself ❤🇦🇺

Your black eye is totally not a big deal. You are fortunate that you did not fracture any small bones around your eyesocket. Yes, it will turn different colors like red and blue and green and yellow before it fades. I love all your WIPs; that was a great idea. Arne and Carlos sweater- I think you showed the back and it seemed a little bit small. So if you are going to resume it I would measure because that is a very complicated pattern. I really appreciate the great guidance you give to other families with an autistic child.

    • @JenGeigleyKnits
      @JenGeigleyKnits  Місяць тому

no kidding!! that was my first thought because my face was so sore that night, but I got so lucky. it could have been much worse. poor Bowie was worried because there was a little cut on my face and it must have looked worse in the rain. that A&C sweater does look small ... it's kind of rolled up with the stockinette but I remember having some kind of plan for that (that I have obviously forgotten about.) or there might be red side strips/panels? I have to go look...

Another great video. Your mention of dresses made me want to suggest a line that you might like. I'm fortunate to live around the corner from their store in NYC. Zuri. I think you would find a lot of patterns/colors that are up your alley. The fabric isn't super light, but I love all my dresses from them. Thank you for all you share and hope your eye isn't causing too much discomfort. If it isn't, then enjoy looking like an even more than usual badass!!!

So glad your eye is going to be alright. This podcast like a lot this week, is not viewable because of the constant advertising interruptions. It must be a new setting on UA-cam that is causing this, as it is happening on so many this week.

One should never run in the rain weather it's a light mist or a downpour. You need to keep an umbrella in a tote bag at all times. Don't run. Just get wet. It's only water.
