I really like your blade design that prevents snow from coming over the top of the blade, the capability to reverse the angle of the blade quickly, and that the blade gets down to the surface resulting in a nice clean plow path. Well done!
Because he's on an angle, it will glide over the sidewalk cracks. You "catch an edge" when the shovel is oriented same way to the crack, then boom full stop right in the nuts.
Yep & still great solution. Just did mine (5" wet/heavy snow)… push as far as possible step-over pile and resume push; then grab traditional shovel and quickly clear pile(s) - 1m/pile.
Looks great when it's dry snow. Try that in the New England where we usually don't get this type of snow. We are normally dealing with heavy wet snow. That shovel handle will be kindling.
Works perfectly- great idea. Of course you have to use it while the snow is falling - if you expect more to come. I've tried that with regular shovel but you have to stop and unload it every so often from in front. Yours seems to push it to the side and unload it quite nicely - eliminating that problem altogether.
Why not ? Do not wait till you have a meter of snow do if the snow is only 10 or 20 centimeters AND the job so easy .O yes it is working in Canada winter to 🤗🤗🤗🥇🥇🥇
Best one I've seen yet. Obviously the amt of snow pushable will be limited because the blade is less than a foot tall. Make one with a taller blade & you're set
One year my father got my sister, a real princess a snow shovel for Christmas, painted it pink, put a big bow on it, told her if she's old enough to drive, she's old enough to shovel the driveway. She was not amused. I thought it was hilarious.
wow!! that thing is remarkable in a half inch of snow!!! Too bad when it snows in the Boston area, we get that much about every 15 min. So..... if I got this amazing shovel/snow plow, I could go out 4 times an hour for 24 hours straight (typical Nor' Easter) and Id have a clear driveway? what a great Idea!
sure this is easy if you want to clear up a side walk, but what about a driveway... if you live in the Midwest or northern state where it snows a lot you know what I'm talking about... I'm sure this little shovel works but the snow piles up after you do three "strips" then you need to start shoveling in layers
A lot of commenters are saying that this shovel won't work on higher snowfall amounts, like 2 feet. So, I thought of something. It is prudent, anyway, to shovel small amounts lots of times as opposed to waiting until the storm ends and having to deal with the whole thing. So, my suggestion is to use this shovel for every 6" that falls, and repeat the procedure until the storm is over.
I can't believe I said the same thing before even reading the.comments,I'm in Pembine 50 kliks north of Crivetzwe know SNOW :-) :-) p s what's William Bowens problem?by the way a balmy 12 degrees today mmmm
I have a driveway 2 cars wide by 40 feet long. This pusher works well for snow up to 3 inches. I would recommend a snow thrower or snow blower for more than that
That's great for a smooth walkway and a half inch of snow, let's see how well it works on uneven walk ways and drifts. I usually wake to 4 to 5 inches and feet where it drifts.
This sure beats noisy gas powered snow equipment. I like the fact that it's an old school, environmentally friendly snow shovel that gets the job done in a short amount of time. : )
This is just a variation of the old standard snow pushers which have been around for decades. They're only good on smooth surfaces and when there's not very much snow. This design may be ok as a second shovel, but you'd still want a conventional shovel first. I like the barn shovel design but made of aluminum instead of course.
New England megasnow/ice/crappy pavement would make minced meat of that thing. 30 years of experience in blizzard after blizzard has taught me: Get a snow blower!!
after a few pass, it will be too thick and heavy and you'll have to shovel it the normal way except you cut off the video before that happens didn't you... thumbs down.
Thats a good idea but that would only work if you had a small amount of snow, but if you had like a foot or more it would be really hard to shovel. So they should make a shovel built for small and big amounts of snow.
Works great until you hit a crack or a part of the sidewalk that has shifted. Then you get a shovel handle in the gut. This only works if you know that the surface under the snow is perfectly flat with no places having shifted higher.
Reminds me of when i was small i was running with the shovel while removing snow and then i hit a crack. I literally jumped about 2 or 3 feet off the ground and hit the floor hard.
You have captured the essence of easiest way to move snow! Don't worry about plowing 12 inches of snow--just plow it every 2 or 3 inches as it comes down. I have a yellow plastic plow from Ames that I love but they discontinued it! PlowWow looks even better! Where do I get it?
Thank you Richard....been trying to explain about plowing snow....no matter what kind of equipment one uses, you are going to wind up plowing it several times. So it should be done when its easy and manageable.....plow with the storm, not against it.........this was a message from HerniaSupportGroup.
Everyone complaining about this or that, "My snow is too deep, too heavy, won't work after 3 passes, blah blah..." Quit bitching everyone, geez. Nobody ever said this is going to work in every situation. But this video is literally proof that it DOES work in some situations. I live in the PNW, and sure, we often do get well over a foot of snow, so this thing obviously ain't gunna work every time. But on the days it only snows a few inches, or if I catch it before it gets too deep, clearly it would be a huge time saver! Even if I could only use it on the sidewalk out front, "plowing" it off to the side in 30 seconds is a hell of a lot easier than shoveling and tossing a 40' x 4' section of snow. God, everyone so damn negative these days...
The people commenting that this won't work on uneven pavement need to tell me what they do to avoid concrete seams from stopping their shovels and blowers, because they sure stop mine in an instant. The angle on this blade makes me think it's less likely to get caught on seams, since the whole edge isn't finding the joint and falling in.
This doesn't work in many places. The item makes a lot of sense, though. Snow plows work the same way. The only issue is for many, including myself, the sidewalk is uneven, people walk all over the snow causing snow to stick to the ground, and the snow is much higher than this. Literally up to my shin and I am 5'11. I wish there was a more efficient way to handle snow.
Works well on uneven surfaces. I have one. People won't be walking on it if you roll your tushie out of bed early enough instead of waiting for it to get pounded by feet. Snow is much higher? Again you may need to perform this function every 2-3" of fallen snow......... What I think is you are a naysayer whose sole pastime is to complain how this doesn't work that doesn't work.....
It's not a coincidence that the video only shows it beng used to clear a sidewalk with a few inches of once fluffy dry snow, because that's about the only circumstance that it's going to work well. If you were trying to clear something wider like a driveway, where you get more than one or two passes built up in your windrow, the windrow would quickly become more than you could "plow" same with a wet heavy snow, same with an accumulation of more than a few inches.
Here in the uk that could work! My city rarely gets above a few inch of snow but it causes no end of triuble for walkers with difficulties. If only i could find one.... That didn't cost the earth
This works on soft snow. You have to have good arm and leg power, super back and no breathing difficulties. I shovel off the curb. Worst place to leave snow is at the curb.
This is actually how they do it with snow plows in Canada. They have a curved shape, just one side is larger than the other as the further you move to the right side, the more snow there will be. They also shovel highways like this, just they use multiple trucks, each one pushing snow into the lane on the right, for the next truck to do the same, all the way until the last truck pushes it off into the ditch.
I really like your blade design that prevents snow from coming over the top of the blade, the capability to reverse the angle of the blade quickly, and that the blade gets down to the surface resulting in a nice clean plow path. Well done!
real easy until 1 side of the side walk is uneven and that stick goes right into ur tummy
DETEK STAR I hate when that happens
DETEK STAR just happened to me with a shovel ..did not feel good
DETEK STAR MY PATIO IS LIKE TJAT AND ITS SO ANNOYING
Yup i learned to not keep it close to my belly
When I was younger it hit my crotch
Try that with wet, heavy, deep snow. Not... 🙂👍

It doesnt even snow in my country and am watching this
What country do you live in?
Come here and help me shovel
Must be nice
I'd like to see how that rascal works on uneven pavement, or with something a little more substantial than a powdery snow.
how didn't he catch an edge ? usually when I try doing that my shovel it gets caught on ice and I end up with a handle to the stomach.
Because he's on an angle, it will glide over the sidewalk cracks. You "catch an edge" when the shovel is oriented same way to the crack, then boom full stop right in the nuts.
Plus probably pre-seasoned the walk (salt) before the snowfall, to prevent adhesion of any ice. Glides smooth then.
the leading edge is rounded will guide right up over most sidewalk cracks..
Happens to me all the time
i use a regular shovel in that form on city side walks i have my edge at about a 45 angle so it jumps side walk edges
technically a snow-pusher. once that pile gets too high for pushing, you'll need to shovel it.
Yep & still great solution. Just did mine (5" wet/heavy snow)… push as far as possible step-over pile and resume push; then grab traditional shovel and quickly clear pile(s) - 1m/pile.

Light powdery snow is always easy....
... when it starts out that way and then, 2 feet are on the ground in the morning and you can't get to work unless you can shovel yourself out.
That won't work in Canada
Riley Jensen Nor New York
Riley Jensen did you even read the description? It was invented in Canada.
Yes it does if its bigger
Riley Jensen why is that
Why not ? Do not wait till you have a meter of snow do if the snow is only 10 or 20 centimeters
AND the job so easy .O yes it is working in Canada winter to 🤗🤗🤗🥇🥇🥇
Easy when the snow isn't but a couple of inches deep. Try that when it is a foot deep
that and wet and heavy too
Easier said than done sometimes.
Use the right tool for the right job. If you live where the snow commonly builds to a foot you should invest in a snow thrower.
I bought an electric snow thrower. I live in SC. Every now and then a big one will blow in
Don't wait for it to get that deep. You're very lazy.
Try that with 10” of wet snow.
🌨️THANK-U!! thought exact same thing!🏔️

Perfect for removing the thin stuff before it ices down!
Looks easy enough to make. A handle, small piece of angle iron, a piece of PVC pipe cut out of of a 10" piece. Maybe take half an hour to make.
That's some very cooperating snow.

how wide are your sidewalks?
No because its not staying on it and its not a shovel

AssasinDG and again, how wide are the sidewalks where this actually starts making a difference

Marquette needs this man to clear the streets.
Thats a good idea but that would only work if you had a small amount of snow, but if you had like a foot or more it would be really hard to shovel. So they should make a shovel built for small and big amounts of snow.

What u use for a foot or 2?
Good for light snow
Thats some pretty wimpy snow you can't do that in northern Wisconsin it's wet and HEAVY but that looked cool fun
Since you pushed the snow into the street, what happens when the snow plow drops it back onto the sidewalk?
What kind of shovel is this I'm getting ideas for winter when it comes someday again ?
where do you get these and how much ?
Where do you get that shovel from
Great shovel! Where can I purchase one? Qvc says they have never carried this shovel, & the web site does not exist!
where did you get that? I want one

when the snow is half a centimeter deep break out that shovel that's the max height of snow it can handle
How does this work on thick wet snow? Doesnt seem like it would work as well
