It's hard not to crush on some of them. Last year some guys became fans of Deputy Aubrey Raymond of the Richland County Sheriff's Dept. when she was on a few episodes of COPS. She ended up catching a lot of the bad guys instead of the male cops that the camera crews were riding with. I was impressed. Example: /watch?v=iX_glcjrGL4 See at 1:15
i thank god that police exist. without them, wow, i don't even want to think about it. god bless all you men and women who keep the rest of us from acting stupid. love, peace, and mercy. molly
If you don't like being stopped by the Cops, fine. But try to look at that same stop from their perspective. Are you someone just coming home from work or are you a Felon out on parole who just committed an armed robbery and vows to never be taken alive. The point is, on that initial contact they don't know. YOUR safety is up to YOU during a traffic stop, so keep your hands in plain sight, talk in a reasonable and respectful manner, even if you're mad about the stop or the ticket you may receive. Most importantly, show from the get go, your a willing to comply with the stop and are NOT a threat. If you still think Cops are out to hassle you, then by all means file a compliant with the department, sue them if it's something really bad, but don't think for one second that somehow you're going to "win" that argument on the street while being pulled over. It's an odds on favorite that whatever trouble you may be in, will just be rapidly compounded.
This is to secure proof that the officer did approached the vehicle. In case the officer finds himself in a dangerous situation while pulling over the subject vehicle, fingerprint evidence would prove that he was present in the scene and that evidence will lead investigators to the vehicle and to the owner there of.
forgot to add the part on why the they touch the taillights. When the officer touches the back of a car its to leave there finger prints on the vehicle just in case something happens to the officer. Then they can tie that car back to the officer.
Never cross in between your police cruiser, and the subjects vehicle. If you wish to approach the passenger side, always go around your cruiser because if you cross between the two vehicle's you can be crushed or pinned between the two. Not a good way to teach your officers. That's traffic stop 101. God bless and stay safe.
Someone mentioned that earlier. I agree with the principle of it, but turning your back to the driver isn't a great idea either. Going around the cruiser is better at night since they'll be blinded by the spot light and you won't break the beams of your headlights by walking around the back. During the day, if the distance between the two cars is good, I don't think that going around the back is any better while its light out and you can't blind the driver like you can at night. Personal preference, I suppose. Same with how to park your cruiser.
when you are doing a passenger side traffic stop, it's better if you walk behind your car instead of in front of your car to get to the passenger side. This prevents you from getting injured or killed in a situation where someone rear ends your patrol car.
What I'm afraid of for cops is after they make the stop and turn their backs on the driver, what stops the driver "if he's crooked" from shooting the cop from behind?
its a damn shame whenever a cop pulls somebody over and the person has to keep their hands on the steering wheel and not move like they're a criminal. things are bad.
I can see how this may appear bad to you. However you have to consider/see things from a safety standpoint. The officer does not know who they are pulling over so they have to take measures to ensure the safety of both the officer and the people in the vehicle. I'm sure you have seen videos where the driver goes to reach for something and it turns out to be a weapon. While not everyone driving is a bad guy, not everyone out on the road is a decent citizen either. So until cops learn how to read minds I am afraid this is the only way to ensure everyone involved drives away with the same amount of holes in their body that they started out with. :) Take care and have a pleasant day.
Honestly, I get scared, when ever I drive by a FC-Police because they are "Super Ruthless". But, with PW-Police, they are so very friendly and all my experience with them have been pleasant. I smile and wave at PW-Police sometimes, if I know them. Absolutely 0% issues, in Prince William County. But FairFax County could use some improvements. Keeping in mind, this feedback all coming from a law biding citizen, me. Please take my warning into account.
First thing I noticed is when the officer says "I have to be concerned about their safety." Wrong! Police are never responsible for our safety. There are many videos on u-tube filmed by motorists stopped by police. Depending on the moods of both the police and motorists, things do not always go smoothly.
+Mike Murphy Some police wear body armor under their uniform shirt because it looks more official/outgoing and generally less intimidating. Plus the bad guys can't see their vest so it could potentially save their life by hiding it from view.
Depends on the circumstance. You shouldn't turn your back to the car either to walk around your cruiser. If you do a passenger side approach and the distance between the cars is good, I'd say you could go in front during the day time, walk around the back at night so you don't break the beams of your headlights and give away your position.
This is great but it's SO CHEESY. To be honest they should've rolled with it and made it with a VHS camcorder, had goofy techno music and like geometric animations
+jeff darnell Officers do this just in case they are injured by the people in the car. When they catch the guy later they will check to see if that cop's fingerprint is there.
+jeff darnell It's so if anything happens their finger prints are on the vehicle. Say they got kidnapped by the person in the car and later on the police find a car matching the description they can check it for the finger prints of the missing officer, that sort of thing. :)
It's so police can identify vehicles that have tried to run during traffic stops, or shot a police during stops. It's the police leaving a thumb print for evidence
Driving and talking into the camera are prolly not the safest things either? did you give yourselves a ticket for distracted driving? Yes, that is a violation. Its the hypocrite cops that were tired of.. Your job isn't just to hold the people accountable, its to hold yourselves accountable aswell.
MrKoosie76 I know I'm late, but officers go through extensive driving safety courses periodically, and they are not the simple get your drivers license ones.
Don't lie to us! You don't make traffic stops for "safety reasons!" You make traffic stops to ultimately take money from peaceful motorists who have committed no violent crime! This isn't just true for Failfax, Virginia; it's true for the whole damn country.
Do you have to be bald to work there? lol. Anyway the female Officer is incredibly attractive, however im more concerned with why she is wearing a vest, which I assume to be a stab vest or a bullet resistant vest, while the 2 male officers are not doing so.
Oh no, not FairFax County Cops. They are so mean, like seriously. I'm not playing when I say that. This police force has a reputation, haha. Now in my city, Prince William County, the cops are SO nice. I love all them and I'm sure our citizens do as well. FC-Police could sure learn from PW-Police. I understand they have a job to do, but the main thing is "wager in common sense" when performing traffic stops. Like for example, an officer sees (x3) cars are driving super fast going 20-over the speed limit, but officer instead pulls over a car with illegal tint (whom was going the speed limit.) Granted everyone was breaking the law speeding, tint, etc. But, which crime was more dangerous & critical, during that moment. Well, this scenario is actually a true story regarding FC-Police, haha. Now, with PW-Police, they actually use their heads in the field. Thank God I live in Woodbridge, VA!! I love my city. Not many people like FC-Police, if you ask around. This is a true and honest feedback from me. Trust me.
I like how you blur out the tag then announce it verbally LOL
+Just Floor It Yeah that was a little counter productive but a pretty good video overall.
Most of the female VA cops are pretty gorgeous. I once got rear ended because the guy behind me was busy checking out a Fairfax cop. True story!

DementedButtHole I have never heard of that one.

You did more distracted driving than I did the whole last year.
Bob Davis talking while driving... very distracting
They're doing a job that entails such activities. You're likely driving to McDonald's to get Ice cream. There's a difference
good thing they're cops and not actors.
Can we say rehearsal
So, does the Officer wipe the greasy thumbprint off of the rear of the suspects vehicle when the stop is over?
touching the back of the car is all about putting evidence that you were there
This is to secure proof that the officer did approached the vehicle. In case the officer finds himself in a dangerous situation while pulling over the subject vehicle, fingerprint evidence would prove that he was present in the scene and that evidence will lead investigators to the vehicle and to the owner there of.
I life in Fairfax Virginia
You should avoid walking between vehicles in the manner at 2:48. kinda a rookie thing to do
Hank Hill yeah, the driver could have easily reversed and pinned her, should have walked behind her squad and then to the passenger side instead.
forgot to add the part on why the they touch the taillights. When the officer touches the back of a car its to leave there finger prints on the vehicle just in case something happens to the officer. Then they can tie that car back to the officer.
hmm interesting wondering why she has to leave a thumb print on the tailgate ... ?? never seen that one before

unr3al Gaming even during the day it is okay because usually, the car will remain as cover and you can always turn your head to looks t the vehicle.
Learned some good pointers before going into my county's academy but I also learned how to talk creepy LOL!

Number one thing. TELL THE OFFICER IF YOU HAVE A FIREARM IN THE VEHICLE OR ON YOUR PERSON.
Officer Oleary is hot!
lol it's funny. texting while driving is dangerous but let me look off the road and at my camera.
when I get older I want to become a police officer
What I'm afraid of for cops is after they make the stop and turn their backs on the driver, what stops the driver "if he's crooked" from shooting the cop from behind?
Is it true in USA you could pay to become a police officer?, you know with all the responsibilities attached to it.Sorry but i live in Brazil
Can you get pulled over for distracted driving by making a UA-cam video while driving?
Don't get the point of blurring the tag for video purpose when she clearly spells it out, LOL!
they muted out some of the characters she was saying, so you actually did not hear the entire tag number...
CoinHuntingDrew Parts were silenced out. We didn't hear the whole plate.
Good Job, Stay Safe out there! =)

*All I read here are anti law enforcement comments, advice to the Fair Fax County Police disable your comment section!*

Do you normally turn your back to the driver as you head back to your squad car? Seems like a good opportunity for a bad guy to gun you down.
You are supposed to be public SERVANTS..
All the cars that they pulled over were cars with police in them. The officers read a script and memorized it for the video.
You do see that this is the police departments youtube channel, right??
First thing I noticed is when the officer says "I have to be concerned about their safety." Wrong! Police are never responsible for our safety. There are many videos on u-tube filmed by motorists stopped by police. Depending on the moods of both the police and motorists, things do not always go smoothly.
Which one of the 3officers is best looking?
You can't pull nobody over if you looking at the camera while you driving
Why is the late night police officer not wearing his body armor?
+Mike Murphy cops don't always have to wears vests a lot of the time people don't because they can be uncomfortable
+Mike Murphy Some police wear body armor under their uniform shirt because it looks more official/outgoing and generally less intimidating. Plus the bad guys can't see their vest so it could potentially save their life by hiding it from view.
He is. When outside the cruiser talking to the camera, note the boxy shape his chest has.
we don't get to drive Christmas trees around All day
you don't walk in between your cruiser and the suspect on a stop lol
yeah i noticed that too kinda a rookie move

officer leary or oleary is extremely cute. good looking lady!
This is great but it's SO CHEESY. To be honest they should've rolled with it and made it with a VHS camcorder, had goofy techno music and like geometric animations
CRINGIEST. VIDEO. EVER
Why do officers always touch your car when walking behind and beside it? That would tick me off if i had just waxed it.
Fingerprints. It's so the police know that an officer has been there because their fingerprints were there.
+jeff darnell Officers do this just in case they are injured by the people in the car. When they catch the guy later they will check to see if that cop's fingerprint is there.

Idk but videos like this make me want to join the police force, but the pay is pretty bad in my country! :(
Which country? Always do what you want.
the pay isn't very good lol
Thanks for posting I added it to Virginia Scanner Page please consider joining
People should have to see this in order to even get a Drivers License
3101010 TRUE
Really forced script in this video lol
I just have to say, this is pethatic. I thought it was a actual ride along, not some Public Service Announcement...
Dirka Durr !!!
With all the problems in this county a car without a lenience plate should be the least of our worries.
Driving and talking into the camera are prolly not the safest things either? did you give yourselves a ticket for distracted driving? Yes, that is a violation. Its the hypocrite cops that were tired of.. Your job isn't just to hold the people accountable, its to hold yourselves accountable aswell.
ok washed up has been.. HAHAHA!
MrKoosie76 I know I'm late, but officers go through extensive driving safety courses periodically, and they are not the simple get your drivers license ones.
Is this some "The more you know" video from a high school Driver's Ed class? Total cringe.

There is no such thing as speeding.
DH4Hobbies Yes there is.
am I the only one that cringe during the vid?
Terrible police officer to choose to explain a traffic stop, you don't need to try to act to explain how to do your job
wow that woman cop is hot
hahaha this is hilarious. no respect
What a fake video..
No thing as a good cop these days, thugs looking to get paid
We live in a police state!!! DO NOT EVER SPEAK WITH COPS, they are NOT your friends!!!!
if you don't do anything wrong then you don't have anything to worry about...
fit4ya1975 I voted for Trump and therefore I hate everybody. How’s that for a nice spread of hate.
I hated my comment, your comment and of course, the original video. Cops too. I just hate, hate, hate. That said, I do love me some Donald J. Trump.
