RE: thermostat doesn't run while in the menu. That is true on all our models. Once in the menu it stops for safety. Because if you changed settings or even changed the mode you wouldn't want it to continue providing power when you intend it to function differently. Lets say you had it set to lighting but then needed it to be set for heat and had plugged up your probe and heat tape. Now you are in the menu but the power is full on because its still in lighting mode until you save/exit. So you overheat your animals. Its things like this that made me error on the side of safety when I wrote the code. Better to not do anything until the user makes up their mind on what they want it to do. :^) Previous gen models would auto exit but I never liked that. Better to have full confirmation on settings by the user exiting themselves. On spyderweb the only auto-exit is if you leave the browser open while its in configuration mode and thats only there because otherwise you could get locked out. Great video! (-Dion, Spyder Robotics)
Nice video man !!! 👌🏼 I Love Herpstat thermostats... it's the only thermostats I own. I picked up a Herpstat2 "Sypder Web" a couple months ago. 😎 I Always exit out of the menu when I'm done doing what I need to do... but it's GOOD to know that "Spyder Web" models won't automatic exit the menu after a few minutes you Have To exit the menu for stat to send power to the heat tape . 👍🏼 Herpstats are the only thermostats that have a "pin code" feature also... so your temps Can't be changed "randomly" by accident. It's a Very nice feature. 🙌🏼 Keep up the good work bro !
After being informed that an undertank heater with a cheap thermostat can malfunction and burn your pet, I immediately freaked out, looked up what was the absolute best reptile thermostat, and got one of these. I'm sure the basic one would probably be adequate, but I am super neurotic, and being able to check the temperature and get updates on my phone if it ever malfunctions would give me such peace of mind. I got the 2 version so that when I eventually have to get a 4x2x2 for my ball python, I already have something that can work for that. It's a long-term investment. I can use it as long as I have my snake, no matter how big it gets, and it's not going to burn or kill it because it has so many fail safes and it's so over engineered. I know that initial setup in general can cost a lot more than the pet, but I do find it amusing that my thermostat alone now cost approximately three times more than the snake itself.
Just bought one of these because literally everyone online is out of stock of the normal herpstat. Really didn't have a choice as I needed a quality thermometer ASAP. Could have went VE I guess but was almost the same price and this offers remote monitoring so hopefully it all works out lol
It should work with dimmable heat lights. It's not an on/off thermostat, unless you set it to be. I would ask them directly to be sure of all its functions.
I really don’t understand how to see up the WiFi and my password has a _ but it doesn’t show up on the herp stat I’m about to pull out my hair, trying to figure this out. Please help

Thanks for the info, that makes a lot of sense

Thank you, herpstats are the only way to go

Thanks for that video man. Just ordered one last night. Would u do a setup video?
how do you like it ?
@@sergiocervantes1662 love it works great
@@ReeseFPV Nice ! I just got the Herpstat 2 , kind of weird as it said earlier today that they had none in stock!
How about a setup video I'm sure you would get a million views.
Hi bud good review 👍 forgot to mention that it also has a pin code and you can change the led to different colors 😎 keep up the good videos💪
Finally a review
I wish the company would post more videos on the Wi-Fi herpstat models.
Hi! Did you purchase this strait from their website or from a different wholesaler?
Straight from the website
Great video brother! Very informative!
Thank you
I have two of these thermostats. Can’t use the WiFi option on either of them.
No option for a - for the password

Definitely a better choice than the VE
Can you use this thermostat with lighting? Will it dim the lights or just shut them on and off. I keep seeing everyone is using heat tape with this?
It should work with dimmable heat lights. It's not an on/off thermostat, unless you set it to be. I would ask them directly to be sure of all its functions.
Freedom Breeder looks like another good option for quality thermostat if you aren't wanting the wifi option
Nice thermostat there buddy
Thank you
man i hope i dont regret not getting this version :/
I honestly, will most likely not get another one. The regular herpstats are perfect for me.
I really don’t understand how to see up the WiFi and my password has a _ but it doesn’t show up on the herp stat I’m about to pull out my hair, trying to figure this out. Please help
Maybe they overlooked the underscore when making it? You might have to contact spyder robotics, or change your password.
Hey bud i need help setting up my herpstat to the wifi can you help me?
I could try, what are you having trouble with
@@ZamoraReptiles I set it up already thanks for getting back to me doe 👍
