Unreliable Wizard | Solo Board Game Tutorial and Playthrough

- This is my instructional solo playthrough of Unreliable Wizard, a solo-only card game by designer Kamibayashi (カミバヤシ). Apparently, I'm an unreliable wizard myself, so be sure to check out my rules mistakes below!
RULES MISTAKE:
1. The Hero ability is all terrain costs 1 health to move through, not reducing by one.
2. In the final combat with the Demon Lord, I forgot you cannot draw more than 4 magic cards per round.

Ah yeah! I'm really stoked about this game based solely on the title alone.
also, first!
Hey, I love your channel! I've been a subscriber since the beginning. Thank you so much for checking out my video. I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful day!
@@TotallyTabled Since the beginning??? Oh geez, you've put up with A LOT of nonsense.
@@NoPunIncluded Ha, yes indeed! I really appreciate your dedication to the nonsense for all these years.
I like both of your channels very much, thanks for that! Unfortunately this game didn't convince me. I sold it again straight away. Have fun!
the hero is "all terrain types cost 1" not "1 less"
still, great video
Wow, yeah, missed that one. I'll make sure to mention that in the description. Thanks.
Really appreciated this playthrough! I was unaware you could leave spells out of your deck before a battle. Having that card manipulation makes a big difference. Will have to give that a try on my next attempt. I was also unsure how the terrain damage worked since there is a guide that says the amount for each terrain type, but then the monster spaces were left blank. Was good to see you went with not taking damage on the monster spaces as terrain damage can be a silent killer by the end.
Really love this game! I wish the rulebook was a little better, but I understand it was a translation from a Japanese publisher. So, there will be some challenges because of the translation. But that's why playthroughs like yours really help. Brings a lot of clarity for other players. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the game which I imagine will be coming in a future video. Great work as always!
Thanks so much for checking out the playthrough! Be sure to check out the description of the video -- I got a few rules wrong, as usual. Some days my old brain isn't working 100%. :) Have a great day!
AWESOME! Very keen to learn this one. Have it here since a few days and it looks inviting!
Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
This is so cool. Will be a great companion for Regicide.
For a micro cardgame, boss battler thingy, I think it is fun. Not going to replace Primal or anything. Regicide is also really fun. Thanks for checking out the video!
Sorry, but I think there is another rules mistake : You can recover health by passing through villages and towns only once per game (last line in the movement section of the rules sheet).
But great video. it appears I didn't play it correctly.
The rule is you can only get EACH health spot once per game. So you can't get the same health spot twice.
I don't think I played it correctly until the 3rd try! Very fun game to play, I love the theme and the art! Do you have the expansion for this as well?
Just to clarify, (the way I understand it 😅 ) is that you can draw more than 4 cards into your hand (say 5 or 6, not looking at them) , but only randomly pick a maximum of 4 cards to play ( costing 4 health, to do so) otherwise you would never be able to cast level 5 spells 😊
Yep, that is my understand as well. Although, it is possible that it might never make sense to have a 6-card deck. But I'm not sure. Thanks!
When I saw the campaign I had to think immediately of Rincewind. So I backed it.....
Good playthrough except yhe last part😂😂
Thanks for watching.
Will you do playthrough sleeping gods distant skies?
I'd like to. It is a bit lower down on my to-do list, but I love Sleeping Gods and one day I might just be in the mood. Thanks so much for watching!
