I am so grateful for people like her with her kind attitude towards the dead. It was not that long ago that families had to do the best they could to care and prepare their dead for funeral and then burial. In many ways that last time with their loved one and caring for them in that way was the healthy closure they needed, that todays highly sanitazed funerary practices no longer can provide. So knowing that there are people like her that don't just see what she does as a job, but as the last care a person will receive in this world is touching and gracious. And for too many, it may be the only care another person has given them.

When I kissed my late mom's forehead after the embalming on 14th July 2016, my lips burned cause of the chemicals. I will NEVER ever forget those EXPERIENCE. After the embalming, I and my pet sister helper the person who prepare the coffin to dress up my late mom. She wore a beautiful saree. I MISS YOU SO MUCH AMMA 😭😭😭😭😭
My mother said she remembered waking up at 4:02, and looking at the clock, she later found out her grandpa died at 4:02 in the middle of the night in the morning.
I experienced the something similar when my mother passed away. It was Feb 9, 1999. I received a call from my sister saying my mother had a bad stroke and I needed to get home as soon as possible. The only way to get there as soon as possible was to have a friend help me drive the 10 hours home. (I come from a very rural area.) I was a passenger in the car that night just daydreaming, not really thinking of anything, just looking out the car window looking at the snow drifts along the interstate when I heard my Mother’s voice as clear as if she was sitting in the car with me. She said: “I’m waiting for you. It’s hard. I love you!” I said: “Mom, I Love you too! You don’t have to wait for me because I’m with you.” Not five minutes later my sister called and said: “Mom died about five minutes ago. You should be glad that she didn’t suffer. I was amazed! She had a smile on her face even though the stroke had paralyzed the left side of her body and all of her face.” I talked God! And said a final tearful goodbye to Mom!
The same happened to me. My grandma died when I was at school. I don't have a phone so i didnt know. On my way home, I was walking and suddenly I felt like I bump to something I cannot see and It go through me. I felt that it was her saying goodbye to me. I will never forget everything about her in my life.

I worked as a nursing assistant for many years and have seen many deceased people, and the one thing that has always stayed with me was that when the spirit has left the body there is a drastic change in their appearance. Sometimes, when the person has been suffering from a long illness it seems that the spirit has already gone, but the body is still showing vital signs.
I really love Yolanda's attitude and her manner. She seems a lot like me-- at least, it seems, we share the same ideas about deceased persons-- just the 'shell' and that is it. I secretly always wanted to be a mortician, and if I could have followed that dream, I would have liked to have had the same attitude and care she has.
Follow that dream. The schooling is hard, but if you love what you do, its worth it =) I love embalming, its my passion. I say look into it. You may enjoy it
I start Mortuary Science classes on the 28th. I've prepped about 10 deceased people's hair for families, including my Grandmother and my Aunt. Caught a few glances into the embalming room and decided on trying my hand at making it one of my careers.
Thank You I lost my mother when I was 4 years old. I was always afraid to ask questions about the embalming process watching your video took the fear out of it for me. thank you
"The dead doesn't hurt you it is the dead that hurts you." A dead body is just a shell.....the spirit has made its journey to another life. I missed my calling for sure.....
I adore her outlook on things and her uplifting thinking despite having such a morbid job. I myself would like to do the same job as her and she is very inspiring to me.
I can imagine that most embalmers take a lot of pride in what they do. It’s their sole responsibility to prepare the presentation of the body to that person’s family.
I can definitely say with total honesty death it's very fascinating to me.I have family who actually have their own funeral homes.with myself all ready being sick I already know what the process will be when I pass on.& it's like the embalmer lady said death it's not something anyone should be afraid of because it's a natural part of life.
it's crazy, I've nvr actually seen an embalmer interact or even show the bodies they're actively working on, it's very interesting especially how they can accept death so easily and view the bodies from a more technical pov
As an RN, I have done post mortem care on dozens of patients!!Bag and Tag! You have to clean the body up before the family come s in the hospital room. I do talk to them, as it is lonely if you re by yourself, and I "Pray them away" from the physical world and tell them it is OK to leave, in case theya re confused, as I see them AT th e moment of death, while they are bein g pronounced Dead..
Virginia Lanford disrespectful? How? She enjoys it because she knows that she’s making the deceased look their absolute best for the funeral and for the family to see them for the very last time. It may seem odd to those of us that don’t deal with dead people on a daily basis. But for her- and other people involved in post mortem care- it’s just another day at work.
keaton buster....only meant that I was an emt for several years and also seen death many many times but never talked about the deceased as if they were a thing or just a job....but have come to realize that people deal with stressful professions in different ways...so my way might be different than someone else's...no one is right or wrong
ive been a beauticial over 25 years. I have a cousin who ive serviced for over25 years who just passed away. for some reason I never though my family would ask me to do her hair., I just thought the funeral home did that! But I couldn't say no because I know my cousin would never want anyone else to do her hair. She didn't while she was alive. so for the first time I was able to somewhat experience working with preparation of the deceased. Was I afraid,,,hell yea! But I soon got over it. Would I do it again...probably for a family member if i'm not to emotionally disturbed,,,but no one else. I know you cant compare embalming to hairdressing,,,but this kind of reminded me of that.

I’m glad that she takes pride in her work. It’s a rare sight rn
You may enjoy it
***** i wouldnt want my body to be abused even after death, maybe you would though.
RAMMSTEIN \m/
Not scared of being dead, scared of the pain
I start Mortuary Science classes on the 28th. I've prepped about 10 deceased people's hair for families, including my Grandmother and my Aunt. Caught a few glances into the embalming room and decided on trying my hand at making it one of my careers.
I’ve been looking into it myself !
How did I get here? I was just watching a video on making salad.
The same thing happened to me! lol
I was watching a man jump in his loved one casket😱😂
Same here man. I was watching gaming videos and some how ended up here
+Beyonder555 lmfao i was watching bargirls club wtf .. how did i get here
+Beyonder555 lol
"It's not the dead that can hurt you it's the living"
Unless.... u a zombie
shrekislove1289 you can’t turn up missing if you still missing..unless. You a zombie
Boy I'm bout too flame you
You corny af😂😂😋
Agreed
True.
We are spiritual beings in a physical body. This is only our first stop on a journey of our spiritual being.
Living that hurts you*
It's not too late!
I would pay to watch a day to day show with this crew lol
What a good day watching this while eating
Did anyone else think that she was embalming a child in the thumbnail?
I did
Yeah i did
Soo much
Yessssss
Yesssss
Disappointed there wasn't a before and after picture
Why are the most of the embalmers soo positive like I would go mentally insane
I adore her outlook on things and her uplifting thinking despite having such a morbid job. I myself would like to do the same job as her and she is very inspiring to me.
When my wife had Died I also had felt her spirit to. Just like I began to hear some sounds that I never heard before.
That poor man must have been very , very ill for a long time before he passed into eternity.
Rest in peace.🌷
I use to work in a funeral home. I've seen things I never thought I'd see. Was very interesting as far as human anatomy and biology goes.
What did you see?
I can imagine that most embalmers take a lot of pride in what they do. It’s their sole responsibility to prepare the presentation of the body to that person’s family.
This woman likes her job and shes into doing what she does.seems like shes Good at it.Bless you in a needed Profession!.
I'm glad there are people like her that enjoy doing stuff like that . Somebody's gotta do it and it sure isn't gonna be me.
Why do I find myself watching this at night😯
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂go and sleep in the kitchen
Same
Say that again 😂😂
Same 😂
LoL. Niciya, that is hilarious ... lol
I can definitely say with total honesty death it's very fascinating to me.I have family who actually have their own funeral homes.with myself all ready being sick I already know what the process will be when I pass on.& it's like the embalmer lady said death it's not something anyone should be afraid of because it's a natural part of life.
I like the woman embalmer, she seems tough, competent and takes pride in her work.
*it’s not the dead that hurt you. It’s the living* that hits bro
Yep. 😀😃👍👍
I know this is on my feed because I watch "Ask A Mortician" .but I didn't look for it..all the while I'm happy to have watched it!
It is a body but the spirit is gone. It's just an empty shell.
I love that she enjoys her job, very admirable lady. Takes a special kind of person to work with the deceased :)
I actually searched for this since I’m writing a story with something about embalming lol
Are you still writing it
What's it about?
Welcome to the weird side of UA-cam
how did I even get here
+Amy Broome lol I asked myself the same thing. All I remember is watching old vids of Easy-E
+Kharloß V I don't give a fuck. This career is fucking weird
+jose avila someones gotta do it. and to your initial comment... dont u mean awesome side?
Pixie Kryukova Awesome to watch, definitely.
I didn't search for it, Yotube recommended it to me when im about to sleep. UA-cam is so nice.
it's crazy, I've nvr actually seen an embalmer interact or even show the bodies they're actively working on, it's very interesting especially how they can accept death so easily and view the bodies from a more technical pov
I was in a CNA class for a while and we also learned Post Mortem care.
Wow you have a beautiful heart and do your job well. Not many would do what you do. May God continue to bless you :)
I applaud your profession but this woman is too disrespectful..
Virginia Lanford disrespectful? How? She enjoys it because she knows that she’s making the deceased look their absolute best for the funeral and for the family to see them for the very last time. It may seem odd to those of us that don’t deal with dead people on a daily basis. But for her- and other people involved in post mortem care- it’s just another day at work.
keaton buster....only meant that I was an emt for several years and also seen death many many times but never talked about the deceased as if they were a thing or just a job....but have come to realize that people deal with stressful professions in different ways...so my way might be different than someone else's...no one is right or wrong
my left ear really enjoyed this
and my right ear enjoyed it too when i figured out which way my earbuds actually go
I just lost my brother last Saturday. I’m here to see what the process is. I see him on Wednesday one last time for his homecoming
ive been a beauticial over 25 years.
No
Good for you. In the past, it was an honor to prepare the dead for burial.
O, oluchi, very sweet comment.
She’s is right the dead are not scary. Only the living are truly scary.
"It's not the dead who can hurt you it's the living" : admirable and very professionnal
How dafuq did i get here from watching theme park rides?
that makes alot of sense actually xD i ended up here after watching bulldog videos that i dont get but its still interesting

spirits
So true, the living can be way more scary than the dead…
December 25, 2020 everyone. Lol merry xmas
*I got to learn on the job, I began with delivering and setting up the flowers, the food and caretaking the entire yard, the chapel, the crematory and embalming room....and also 24-hour pickups and random embajlming under our Head Embalmer.....ALL for $600 a month, which was very difficult to survive on......even tho it was a cool job!!!*
*So I left my cool job and became a FISH EMBALMER, a Fish Manager for a local Supermarket that made me nearly $2,000 a month for only 40-hours a week!*
*All this between 1989-2004!!*
I came here on purpose pfft
