The competitive aspect of all physical sports is tainted by PEDs, unfortunately this objectively disqualifies any of them from being 'the greatest sport'.

I know they don't understand and don't care about it. But, I'm going to do it anyway. If I have to listen to them talk about things I don't like nor understand, they do too. And if you can't abuse your friends, who can you abuse? My closest friend is obsessed with mopeds, for god's sake! I'm talking to old school ones with pedals and two stroke motors. He has about 20 of them! So, he can listen to me talk about my last gravel race or the new crankset once in a while.
So true, no point talking about it to normal folks. Everyone that meets me nowadays questions me - "Are you still Cycling?" I just twist and respond - "Yeah, I still workout a little" mere mortals don't get the real feeling of being on a bike, wattabombing on a slope.. let them be.. !
Honestly, this applies to any niche hobby or fandom that people get deeply into. You want to have someone else to talk about the thing that eats up your mindshare, but most people only want to engage at a surface level of not at all.
LOL... All the fun of cycling begins when you can ride at 30+kph constantly between traffic lights, for the thrilling; or when you can ride 3hr+ or 60 80 90 100 kms at a time so you can see your surrounding in a completely different view, for the experience; or when you can bike 20km or 30km without a sweat to commute and get around and you start to feeling that "I don't need a car", for the practicality, and the freedom. Not to mention the mountains, that's where all the true fun begins... Unfortunately for most general population it's something that's just too hard for them to experience. I always say the best friend for general population or beginner cyclist actually is a CAR. Take them directly to some iconic climbs or scenery routes, skip the 20/30/40km "warm up", then they can get the key idea of about what you are talking about, and if they like it, they might want to go faster next time or go further. I find most of times in this way people can get it, especially family members. Oh I forgot there's another thing called E-bike, I think that's also great in these scenarios.
I truly believe that, even considering that I am absolutely that annoying cycle-boy that constantly talks about cycling, that bros talking about their jiujitsu thing is absolutely the worst example of this phenomenon. My theory is that they catch some organic neurological parasite from a nasty mat that makes ‘em stoopid.
I believe that nobody cares about my cycling ventures, the same way nobody cares about any other hobby except for the person speaking. But we can't just be quiet all the time.
Racing and watching taces can be utterly boring. No, it is boring. I have been bired shiftless IN races. But cycling is a beautiful thing. The fitness, speed, new places, bikepacking and Z1/2 pleasure rides are a blessing. But my apologies for talking about cycling…🙄
Cycling is the greatest sport and if you disagree you are wrong
If you know you know

No kidding, just yesterday, I finished my ride and my wife asked "how was your" and stopped speaking. I asked "how was my what"? She said nothing...
LOL...that "how was your" undoubtedly took a lot of strength
I want to commend you for this video. It caused my wife to spit coffee out her nose while laughing at me laffing at you. For that I thank you. ❤️
😂😂 thanks david

Haha- I really enjoyed the closing monologue 👍🏾😂 starting with « unless you won the thing, it went well »
gotta be careful telling a midpack finish story

This could be the most interesting and rewarding video of all time. I’m in tears
I have the opposite problem. All my friends ride mountain bikes and it’s all anyone talks about.
Lmao, this is the greatest video the algorithm has gifted me in months!
Aw buddy…. you had me laughing all the way to the reveal at the end… then I couldn’t stop grinning ☺️
Safe riding man 👍
right back atcha 🚴🏼🚴🏼
Amen brother
I’m from the uk which is football obsessed you can’t get away from it!!!
I believe that nobody cares about my cycling ventures, the same way nobody cares about any other hobby except for the person speaking. But we can't just be quiet all the time.
To be fair, that goes for any activity.
Superb.
great video and all so true
Beautiful
Nothing but facts and... FACTS
This was too real
i like your cycling shirt, give the sauce of how to get it ?
Check out Ostroy 🚴🏼🚴🏼
I beg to differ, but I'm also biking (but not to the point of shaving my legs ;-)
lovely jersey!
where did you get it from
Ostroy 🌸
Nice jersey! I often wondered what happened to my grandmother's donationed bedspread.
LOL!
Take my subscription 🎉
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
real
Hahaha this is a wonderful piece of poetry slam combined with hard facts
It gets even worse if you ride fixed gear, fixed gear is basically the gateway to become a social outcast
haha well I think you’re cool
bomb outro
Agreed. Cyclists shouldn't drone on and on about their cycling. That is why God invented Golf.
absolute gold!
Nice video bro thanks!
😂
Love the Seinfeld vibes!
Perfect
Freaking beautiful.
Best video ever.
I’m starting to think my friends don’t care
they don't 😂..but that's okay
❤
That jersey scares me
yes but i don't care that they don't care 😋
Only you should not talk about cycling. At least in this guise. Otherwise you're a great guy?

You should see my wife's eyes glaze over ,as she pretends to listen to the latest pro cycling news😂
Slip in some crazy subliminal message and see what happens.
