Hi, my name is Mark I’m 61 minus born in San Francisco but I live moved to Marin County to finally gets sober from alcohol three years and eight months sober anyway. I like that you’re not arrogant even though you’re really really smart I have to listen to your videos three or four times to understand. I like your rational, thinking, recognizing weaknesses and strengths. I also am good at that I recognize that I’m not the most book learned, but I am smart strangely enough I’ve been battling weight going up and down and now I’m on 161 days of no sugar no processed foods no carbohydrates and eating organic food and lost 100 pounds And fasting of course is a new thing I’ve incorporated in my weight loss is for the easiest time I have ever had losing weight. Also only eating one big meal a day and that’s it no snacking at all. I’ve always been good at sports, but not good enough to make money, but had I learned about no sugar and no flour and only eating once a day I think I would’ve been super great at basketball or any sport. Because I never been so athletic as I am right now, can you believe that?

You’re right about learning skills. In my day they taught cooking, sewing etc in Home Economics. I don’t think they do that anymore. I learned to crochet from a great aunt. Embroidered from my grandmother. Quilting from quilt groups. I never passed up a chance to learn a new skill. For free! Today’s women can barely function at all. I also learned how to write in high school and have authored books. I learned how to do public speaking at Toastmasters so I could promote my books. And when I read it’s nonfiction to learn something, not trash novels for entertainment. I’d gladly teach young women how to be good homemakers but I doubt there would be any takers.

I am 62 years old and everything you mentioned here, I too learned in Home Ec. I was one of the first girls to take metal shop and wood shop too. I loved learning then… I still do, I’m just older and wiser for wear.
The children I know and love all have kids of their own and bring them to learn from me. I guess that’s because I preach responsibility and duty of care non stop. I love the teens I’m around… they tell me it’s because I cuss a lot 😅

Oh, this is Mark again. My parents always said I was a person that tries really hard I think that’s one of my great strengths. I always had really smart friends like you because I was inquisitive and would ask questions and try to learn as much as I could. I listen to all your videos. My confidence is low, but after learning to fast, I heard that it creates new brain cells and rejuvenate the body when you practice not eating as much and going to days a week without eating or I should’ve learned this when I was in my 20s, OK thank you so much for your videos. I share with other people, especially people who are depressed that you might cheer them up when you come out whistling and cheerful. Thank you.

I bought a Ford Transit van converted to a camper van inside here in the UK because I was getting these contract electronics jobs far from my home so had to pay for b&b's and travel every week. So I've saved a load of money after buying it and I've enjoyed improving on it. I've fitted solar panels on the roof and added a table and made a 'garage' storage area in the back by making the toilet/shower ares smaller. I'm looking at ways to add more beds to it without losing too much storage space. So I'm learning all about carpentry now, I only have a saw and a screwdriver but it's enough to get by.

Great video! I love your content, Ken. You're obviously a fountain of information about highly esoteric/deep subjects such as Platonism and Magnetism, but I've also learned a tremendous amount regarding practical matters (such as this video) - many of which lessons, even most business gurus are unable to articulate.
With that said, some personal insights I've learned over the years - especially after living the hell of Chronic illness, and losing a tremendous amount. I've learned quite a few HARD truths...
    - Most people don't act much different from animals. If you want to see someones true colors, observe how they act when regarding sex & money. NEVER underestimate how PETTY narcissistic personalities can be. It's literally astounding how low some people can go - over the most superficial of reasons.
    - Keep your circle small and well vetted. Similar to myths of the vampire, be careful you let IN. Malicious personalities can usually only cause dismay once you let them in on personal matters, inner circle, your physical house, finances etc etc. They are EXPERTS at feigning friendship to be allowed admittance. Be extremely careful and pay close attention to ones character traits BEFORE allowing them access to a private matter. There's a difference between friendship and acquaintances. Friendship is only reserved for the select, rare few. ''Being friends with everyone'' is a recipe to getting ruthlessly burned. Not everyone has good intentions.
-People respond to fear more than they do good nature. Being nice usually garners respect from other nice/good people, but not so much from bullies. Bullies usually only respect repercussions - cultivating the ability to show your fangs is incredibly important and will ironically save one a alot of grief, as opposed to being ''nice'' or trying to be reasonable.
-Save your criticisms for those who truly deserve it. Celebrating art and creativity, even the more simple and crude kind, makes one more attractive to The Muse and her gifts of inspiration. The creative spirit is stoked by celebrating the general ethos of creative pursuits. Chronic envy & criticism makes one a repellent to good fortune and creative genius.

24:06 "Neither a borrower nor lender be, for loan oft loses both itself and friend, and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry."

I don't know about Kentucky stores, but our nearest TJmax location usually has slim pickings, and a lot of the time, disheveled in appearance and presentation. It's a popular choice of places to shop in that specific area of the city. In contrast, the TJmax located in a small town on the outskirts of Greenville SC has an ample amount of inventory. At Ieast it did the summer of 2017. I went by there while on the way back from a visit to Greenville in August of that year. Opened a line of credit that day, too. Maxed out at Max, I did. The whole three hundred dollar limit. 😅

Tree work on the other hand is a true specialty, especially if you know how to make them look good.😉 It’s all about proportion, like hairdressing.

I enjoyed going to college. My favorite classes were Meso-American Art History, Geography, Geology, & Cultural Pluralism. Now anyone can obtain a college degree but it does take a level of commitment to show up to class each day, study, and pass your exams. Some people just don’t have the attention span needed to do well in college.

I like that shirt, looks fun:). Blue is a great color for you.
My own contribution would be health. It REALLY matters. I’m only middle age like you Ken, but I was one of those health nuts early on and finally found a diet that works for me. I have none of the health issues many around me have. It’s not too late to make changes and it doesn’t require extra time.
Not so much my peers, but I work with a lot of elderly and the problems they have are terrifying. Bones literally crumbing and they are constantly in pain, trying all these procedures. The health care system is collapsing quickly. The long term care facilities are already a nightmare and getting worse.
Make your health a priority folks.
I’m glad you were able to get yourself some nice goodies Ken ❤. I’m always looking for a deal !

Everyone should use a credit card. You just need to pay it off in full every month, and you get at least 1-2% cash back in rewards! Plus it will give you a perfect credit score by the time you ever need a car loan or mortgage.

    • @ShannonRamos
      @ShannonRamos 5 місяців тому

That was good advice years ago but credit is not the same today as it was last year. Many reward programs are ending and the predatory 24% APR for a great credit score now is the same or worse than it once was for terrible score. There are state limitations on fees and surcharges but you are playing at a losing game because if you miss that payment it will really cost you.
I worked at First Data Resources back in the late 90s and if you had any prob with a missed payment or a late charge with your Visa or Mastercard you could call and they would be happy to just take it off, good luck these days as we are in an era of what I call institutional scams.
Credit for car loans and mortgages are freezing up if you didn't know, the banking industry is in dire trouble because of it's failing investments in CRE(commercial real estate) all banks are now suffering because of lack of deposits, lack of loans, and lack of deals(mortgages), the bigs will get bigger and the regional banks will soon fall like dominoes and assets will be purchased of pennies on the dollar.
We may soon see the collapse of a super bank (Bank of America), beware because the fractional reserve laws have changed and the money you deposit in the bank does not actually belong to you as many are finding out simply trying to make large withdraws. FDIC currently knows 12 US banks that are now insolvent yet they will not tell the public because you know bank runs....

I was 300 lbs and lost 100 lbs without exercise just cutting carbs to less than 20/day - upping protein and doing a health jump on a cheap rebounder for 5 minutes a day to detox my lymphatic system. This switches your body to burning fat instead of sugar and carbs and all without being hungry! Make sure you you use a good salt like Himalayan or keltic and drink enough water. It took 10 months, but it was worth it. You can do it!
