My journey of making dividends started when I first started watching your videos, I had a small portfolio and was making $40 a month in dividends. I thought I would be incredibly lucky to make even $100 a month. Now, several years later I'm currently working hard making $1200 a month in dividends! I'm constantly inspired by your videos and am excited about this journey I'm on. I've even been able to sell some put and call options to make some extra cash. Investing is addictive, but its a much better addiction than that of other people like gambling, smoking, or drinking.
I started investing in the stock market because of dividends. What matters, in my opinion, is that if you invest and earn more money in addition to dividends, you will be able to live off of dividends without selling. It implies that you can pass that on to your children, giving them a head start in life. I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks over the years; I continue to buy more today and will continue to do so until the price lowers even further.
Hearing from an experienced investor who has successfully navigated adversity is always motivating. Even while it may be unnerving when your portfolio goes from green to red, if you have invested in top-notch businesses, you should just keep growing them and stick to your goal.
The best market strategy at the moment is working with a respected investment coach. I've been in touch with a coach for a time now, mostly because I lack the depth of understanding and mental toughness to deal with these ongoing market conditions. Not because you're doing anything wrong, but because you lack the understanding necessary to prosper in a bad market.

Much respect for showing your viewers your ACTUAL portfolio. I've joined many crypto influencer paid programs just for them to show us a percentage. Like, "80% of my portfolio is invested into BTC" when in reality, it's 80% of $500. 😂
Andrei loves dividends so much, he took on too much risk and used voyager to lend out his non dividend crypto. Someone didn’t pay back their loan so andrei didn’t get back his crypto. Andrei lost half of his portfolio because he wanted dividends too much. Word of advice, do not use lending platforms.
Be wary of dividend stocks that tank. Yea they are cheaper to buy, but they might slice the dividend in half or recall holders' stocks and list it at a higher price, leaving holders with a capital loss if they sell.
I feel like there may also be a psychological benefit towards receiving dividends where depending on how you get notified there is likely a small dopamine hit of "Oh nice, I made $X for sleeping" and wanting to repeat that. At least that's been some of the feeling I've been getting anecdotally as a starter investor / dividend investor.
You said it took you 10 years making 50K annually to have your portfolio reach almost 800K. In that 10 years your income would’ve been 500k. If you subtract your portfolio amount - gains it’s roughly 692K contributions. Does the account not include dividends on the gain %? How did you contribute 120% of your annual income?
When you are young and working, it makes more sense not to have much investments in dividends. Better not to pay taxes on your growth, switch to dividends as getting closer to retirement.
You still pay capital gains tax when you sell to switch to some dividend stocks at higher prices in the future. Buy both if you are young. Dividends can be emergency income each month as an added benefit.
Great Video Andrei! I love seeing my dividend payouts come in every month/quarter and seeing my portfolio grow as I re invest them back in for more shares.
I look at dividends as a weekly paycheck that I invest in. ( granted that takes quite a few tickers to get it to that point) But that extra pocket change really can be useful in the day to day.
When a dividend is paid, several things can happen. The first of these are changes to the price of the security and various items tied to it. On the ex-dividend date, the stock price is adjusted downward by the amount of the dividend by the exchange on which the stock trades....

Dividends and understanding compound interest can be a powerful tool to financial independence
Yes it is. Invest and reinvest for the long term.
Big dividend stocks are fun to look at when they go down too. Because the reinvesting gets you more stock to compound! Makes it fun.
Very true!
Keep in mind that dividends will likely increase with the stock value if you're paid in cash (due to inflation and organic growth)
