Thanks Keith! Spent two years tweaking the track on my floor before committing to the table. Still see things every day that I could have done differently. Thanks for watching!
That's an AWESOME UNION PACIFIC train set Chris! I like the locomotive and the caboose the most! What a NEAT layout with some really COOL trains! Thank you for sharing this AWESOME video Chris!
Those LionChief sets are really nice looking, I have a ready to run set from the early 2000s Union Pacific that I love to run and the detail wasn’t too bad then either. I have eyed this UP set for awhile and I think you pushed me to add it to my collection. Another great video, stay safe and see you around the bend my friend!
Beautiful set- gorgeous engine as well as the cars. The horn is wonderful as well. My son bought me the Blue Comet Lionchief set and I love it as well- you really can't beat the Lionchief sets for value and functionality. Have fun!
I really wish other manufacturers would adopt the control technology. I like that you can put it on the track and go. No DCC setup, or programming track. Just a power pack to the track and that’s it. It’s a nice neat clean look.
Dude, another great update video. I was downtown Portland Tuesday at the Whistle Stop Train Store. I picked up three Lion Chief Plus units that were used with boxes, remotes and instructions. I tested them and inspected them and I swear they could not have been run for an hour. Perfect condition for $175 each. Not a huge fan of the Lion Chief brand but I’ll say as you did, great product for what it is. Mine even have the figures in them and are able to run with remote or transformer. Very nicely detailed as well. Thanks again for the update. You are one of my favorites on here. Keep it up man. Tim
something fascinating about the simplicity of Lion Chief. Being in N for twenty years on DC.. getting into HO and DCC in the past year.. The remotes used for both Lionel and MTH.. is a bit Wow!!!! until really understood. Lion Chief seems a good get your feet wet intro into O. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video. Always down to earth. We have a couple LionChief sets. The only issue we have had is that our one Disney General set is a bit underpowered for grades. Otherwise, runs fine. Actually, the LionChief sets were our first purchase back to Lionel. We have MTH users for a while with DCS, but with the remotes and LionChief app, we now use a couple scale Lionel locos in our fleet.
Great looking set Chris and I may have to break down and get one. Now all I need is a layout bigger than my Edge of Town micro-layout to run it on! Lol

Beautiful layout.....I haven’t tried any LionChief engines on my layout. I usually buy all MTH Premier engines or Lionel Legacy engines but I’ve been thinking of buying one to try it out.
I am with you @escape150. Most of my collection is Scale. So much value in these Lionchief sets though and they continue to evolve the product with the 2.0 Line.
Hard to beat the value of the sets. I have three, and gave all the FasTrack to my son. I do like that the newer sets have much clearer dialogue than some of the previous ones. Thanks!
You have three Lionchief sets but no videos. What gives? I would assume if you give your FasTrack to your son you must have a permanent layout. Or do you just have some old tubular track you set up around the Christmas tree each year? You don't have to answer that, I'm just being facetious. Bill.

Hi Chris How many Loops do you have on your Layout? I noticed that you're running 3 sets of trains on the same track at the same time? Is that a giant loop system? Do You or Can You use a Block Signal System on Postwar, MPC & Lion Chief Sets? or does that work with Legacy Systems Only? Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan Martinez
Although my main layout is HO and my main railroad will prolly always be HO, I've recently bought some O locomotives and some track to set up for special occasions (Christmas, or just to set up an oval on my floor for the lolz). The only problem is that I just discovered after buying the locos, that the Legacy Control System has been discontinued by Lionel and can't be purchased anywhere. So I can't run my brand new trains :-( I had to pre-order their Base3 and now have to wait for 4Q 2023 before I can run my trains. I'm really upset with Lionel! They should have waited for the Base3 to become available before they discontinued the Legacy System. I also noticed that O scale trains are more toy-like than HO trains, and the engines and cars tend to be shortened and not to scale. Sorry, but I wouldn't want to use O scale to create a prototypical model railroad -- it seems to me that O scale is only appropriate for Christmas trains and whatnot.
