Thanks for this! Your video restored my faith in humanity. I'm disabled & had a "friend" call me crying because he 'hated to ask me' for a loan. I obliged & helped him out. I gave him the $ I had for the rest of the month knowing he'd pay me back Monday. Today's Wednesday, he told me last night he wasn't going to pay me back, that I told him to keep the $ as a birthday gift! I didn't. I'm more pissed that he made me feel stupid for trusting him. That & I thought he was a friend. I wish I lived somewhere friendlier.

If you ever come to Westchester NY, you should visit Put Some Meat on Your Bones. That's my husband's food truck and he does pay what you want day!!!! We first started doing this when Covid started, so all first responders, nurses, and doctors could have a nice meal and pay whatever they felt like we deserved. That's how we pay our bills in NY
I wonder if having the tips jar full/ the fact that it actually had money helped. I feel like that would make people feel obligated to pay since others did too. A cool experiment would be to do this again, but with an empty jar every time.
