Vocal Coach Reacts to Adam Lambert's Best Live Vocals -Ken Tamplin

- Adam Lambert is one of those singers who makes me want to sing. His talent truly is next level.
Lambert’s been singing and performing publicly since the age of 9 where he got his start with the Metropolitan Educational Theatre.
As he got older he received more intense vocal training and performed with the Broadway Bound Youth Theatre Foundation.
We all know Adam from his appearance on American Idol where he ironically finished eighth.
After the show he released his debut album which debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and his second album debuted at number one.
In only 10 short years he has sold over 3 million albums and 5 million singles worldwide.
In addition to his successful solo career, he has collaborated with rock band Queen as the lead vocalist for Queen + Adam Lambert where they have toured worldwide.
Today I’ll be reacting to a compilation of his Best Live Vocals. I hope you enjoy the performances and let me know how you thought he did.

One of the many things that I love about Adam Lambert is that he just goes for it. Balls to the wall and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. He’s got such charisma and passion that you feel every note he sings. That is a rarity these days.

Been a fan of Adam since I first heard his audition of Bohemian Rhapsody for AI, but having seen him perform with Queen on the Rhapsody Tour I was floored by his talent. He truly puts everything into his perfomances.

Adam Lambert is one of the very rare current pop singers who actually has immense vocal talent and range so he doesn't have to lip sync, rap or do choreographed dance to tracks while pretending to sing. Lambert also seems humble and nice. Ken, Dude, you are a plethora of knowledge and we are very lucky that you are willing to share so much of it with us. Thanks for all the exemplary lessons and videos!
He is and he is selfless. And gives credit and shout out, he uses his platform. he does voice his opinion...and doesnt say the right thing sometimes..but he is human.
I agree with you and the one thing I do love about Adam and I wish he did more of it is use his chest throat voice. It is so strong and powerful! It has such a beautiful tone quality. That's why I wonder why he does that heads/voice sound at times, except that it's probably just his Rock Style.
Adam Lambert is a wonderful singer and a great person. He is always involved in philanthropic events and founded a charitable organization with his own resources.
My opinion was the two that couldn't mis was Adam and Scotty...

I am REALLY lucky to have fallen into the rabbit hole of Adam Lambert's music. If it weren't for that one TikTok video i saw (Yes, TikTok. I decided to check it out a little...) I would have never even heard of his name. It's gotten to the point where I EXCLUSIVELY listen to Adam. His vocals sometimes make me cry, and I don't usually cry over videos!! ✨❤️

Saw Adam and Queen in concert. Great show and they rocked for 2 hours straight! Much respect to them.
Absolutely phenomenal singer! Brian May said, "nobody's going to outing Adam Lambert!" 🙌🏻 But as a reminder, he was the runner up. He and the winner were in the finale which was where Queen first performed with him.

When I first heard Adam on American idol I knew he was special. Same with Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. I'd love to be able to sing just half as good as Adam. What a voice.

I felt the same way! Both him and Kelly. I just didn't just how far they would get (though I actually put in my vote for Kelly each time). But yeah, I they caught my attention and held it lol 😊
@@heathermiller6046 it's funny. Every American idol that I watched I was able to pick the winner real early in the show. And each week I could tell you who was going home. I mean I was 100% accurate. Even when Chris Daughtry went home I called it. My Friends were amazed. Heck I was even shocked that I was right Everytime. it's hard to believe that I could get that lucky for so many seasons and weeks. Has anyone else done this? I'd love to know. Certainly I'm not the only one that did this. Well except for the last two seasons because I didn't watch them. What even funnier is my hearing isn't good. I actually am totally deaf to a few different tones. Maybe I just got lucky.

Ken Adam. Worked hard for Idol. He helped Chris Allan! Who won that year. I do like Adams own singing, of his own songs. Him singing with Queen, is amazing! Adam being new. Dr Brian May, Roger , years of singing. Adam seem to fit in! Adam brings in his fans, Queen and their fans. Good all way round. Adam does great!!!!
I honestly think he is probably the best male vocalist ever! So stoked you are able to hit those notes and elaborate on what he’s doing. Trying so hard to figure out how to hit some of the higher notes without straining. Some days it comes with ease but most I can’t seem to figure out quite how to get there without proper technique

@@BC08 Hey. They are allowed. They are talking about vocals not his singing. They're opinion. On a techincal level. He is very good. Very consistent in his singing you know he rarely uses falsetto ..you know .right? Not saying he does not. Our point is against people today in the pop scene he is definitely is amazing. (Adam Levine I am looking at you) You do realize that his chest mix even to A5, and the fact he is a techinal vocalist and has gone up the B5 AS male tenor...not with a falsetto that's very hard over again all over the world. Not to mention his vocal delivery night after...especially on this this current tour after nearly 400 shows and 200 shows with Queen. Is impressive. .Unlike some male vocalists who's damaged it...he hasnt lost his voice or damaged it. Even though he regularly goes up to the fifth octave. Listen to come bend to me by Adam Lambert at 22. For voice control. No he isn't the best. But I'd say he is maybe in the running for male pop \ rock voices for consistency.. 🙌 and vocal difficulty that he does.

Last figures I saw they made over $130 million not counting this tour, which has pretty much every venue sold out. Most importantly, Brian and Roger think he's the best singer for Queen. That's all that matters. It's their band.

Adam is one of my favorites - along with George Michael and Brian McKnight - and another one I would love to see you react to is Darren Hayes (He was the singer for Savage Garden, then went on to have several solo albums). He has such a beautiful voice and has some spectacular live performances.

I am a baby boomer and I loved all the same music you talk about. I would love for you to do his current music with Queen and new song out. I would love to hear if you think his voice has improved over the years. These are old video of him singing. I personally love who wants to live forever but also the show must go on and would love to hear you break it down. Thanks once more. Many people complain about him doing front man of Queen people seem to think you need a faux Freddie to make it just like Queen in the 70s and 80s what are your thoughts on that.

Adam sings 'Do you believe' at a Cher tribute and it is so amazing. I never cared for any of Cher's music but when Adam sang this song it was like hearing the song for the first time. Cher was so moved she cried. Its on UA-cam.

So another watch. Seen Queen + Adam 5 times and he has been impressive. Not just a fan but able to sing the songs for us that love heaing live music. He carries himself well as the front man. Awesome to hear the critique of his vocals over the years.

Also I appreciate the advice about tongue placement and open throat technique when it comes to going into head voice. And not over doing things. That's something I can take with me and develop.

Finally it's Adam Lambert! I chose to sing 'Mad World" at an intercollegiate singing competition after i saw his incredible rendition, and I won. He's certainly inspired me as a singer to push the envelope, to sing higher and stronger. Also kudos to you for making this informative analysis, Ken!

Great reaction! Adam has a fantastic voice. Also appreciate the tidbits you throw in there, such as vowel modification. It reminded me that my Middle School Honor Choir teacher taught us similar techniques for pronouncing our vowels.
