Hey guys! My apologies for the lack of videos over this past week, I planned to film more videos when I was in Paris but that, obviously, didn’t go to plan! Either way, welcome back to another video where I talk through some tips & tricks on buying a Golf R. [NOTE: As I mentioned in the video, some of these points are a personal opinion so I accept this may differ for some of you watching]
Thanks again for the amazing video Luke!
Thanks Nicho and Edwin!
cracking vid, where did you get those DSG paddle extensions from??
nice review im South Africa n wanted to know if theres other security features u cn get for mk7.5 golf r to help protect car from being stolen

I bought a used mk7 recently from a used car lot, only to find out the previous over put a 3 inch down pipe, after market exhaust and cold air intake. Absolutely loving it.
He even left in the book with the dates of all the fluid changes and what brand he used. Very nice guy.
That’s awesome, someone really wanted their car to live a good life. Hopefully you have a good time with it too!
Get a vodaphone cobra tracker. Mine cost 100 a year in subscription but well worth it. They call me when it's being serviced asking if I know if the car is 10 ft in the air?
😂😂😂
Lol thats a badass tracker
@iNSTAGiB it also does it on the ferry to isle of white.
@iNSTAGiB I don't know as it came already installed and I don't even know where it was. It was £120 a.year. Peanuts for piece of mind.
I agree with some of your points Luke. Bought my R 18 months ago - brand new and paid quite a bit less that yourself. Admittedly it's a manual, 7.5, 3 door, but that's what I wanted. I don't do a lot of town driving and the manual box is a more engaging driving experience - it's a pretty "slick" shift too (like loading a rifle). I wouldn't give you "tuppence halfpenny" for leather seats. They're freezing in the winter and burn your arse in the summer. Good video bud - keep em coming.
Don't want you car stolen because of the push button ignition? Buy a manual. Nobody knows how to drive them anymore.
lmaooo *stalls after 2 metres*
2iBMX lmao he’s in Europe and everyone in Europe knows how to drive manual as long they’ve went for driving lessons
PQTH I am from America I know how to drive stick lol. Our traffic sucks and not worth it tbh. You get sick of it.
Your wrong.
@@itry_mash8261 it's mandatory they learn for their road tests. America has evolved to where we refuse to do anything for ourselves. Hence the upgraded automatic trans, so nobody has to do their own shifting. It's really sad.
Where I live near Birmingham, don't matter if you have Keyless entry or not. If they want the car, thieves will do anything to get it. Best car security is Pandora Car Alarms tho. The West Midlands is one the hot spots at the moment for car crime.
Valid point!
lee van cleef no, Bradford
@@hb1949 either way its a shit hole lol
Nothing has changed . Scum bags still out here stealing. I’m more scared of having keys now because they will just kick the door down instead. I’m from Birmingham also
You can temporarily deactivate keyless access. Useful when your car is parked on the drive at night.
- Lock the vehicle with the lock button on the vehicle key.
- Touch the sensor on the outside of the door handle once within five seconds.
Unlock the car by pressing the unlock button.
I used to deactivate keyless on my old Merc C63s all the time (that needed a double press of the lock button on the fob).
I'm on the cusp of buying a 7.5 Golf R. I'll be getting keyless entry and go! In fact, 2020MY Golf R's no longer come with turn key ignition! My current car has keyless entry and start and there's no way i'll be going back to turn key. If you're worried about security buy a steering wheel lock and also Autowatch Ghost which runs completely separately from the cars factory immobiliser. All it takes is a bit of research and a few additional £££.
Agree with all your points mate! You can get keyless go though, but you have to make sure you put your key in a special box/bag if you put it away. Then signals can't be picked up and your car can't be broken into that easily! :)
I now have a Clubsport but I would love to trade it in for a 7.5R!
Thanks buddy! Ahh interesting
Get a tracker and remote immobilizer
It's called a "RFID box." You should also get a RFID wallet so no one can use your credit card(s) with a skimmer.
Interested to know why you’d trade in the clubsport for a golf r?? I’ve been looking into the possibility of both for a period of time and whilst you have 4wd and more power with the R, the saving in weight of the clubsport and desirability/holding-value is what sways me...
@@nisheel I really want to change over to the facelift model. The new front and interior infotainment are way nicer than my current MK7. Also the 7 speed DQ381 gearbox is miles better than the current 6 speed DQ250 in my CS.
And the 4WD system is something I really want. The front wheel chassis of the GTI/CS really can not cope with extra HP. It spins and bounces like crazy. I would love to go 4WD and 400hp+ :)
Here in the Netherlands the CS doesn't hold value. They drop very hard in price. Only the Clubsport S stays very expensive.
Last night I won a fully specced out GolfR estate on a competition site. Pick it up next week
I have a 3L V6 Audi A5 and would love to upgrade to a Golf R or Audi S3 etc, but literally the only thing putting me off is the risk of it getting stolen! Your first point is seriously a great point that everyone should be aware of.
Can’t beat a bit of old school big engine grunt, though. Must be nice having that V6. Won’t be long before anything with power is a 1L 3 cylinder with fifteen turbos (before we’re all forced electric)
Just got my second mk7, I went back to it because I had the dsg first but wanted a 6 speed ultimately. Finally found one and I really like it. Very nimble, I know there are better cars and everyone has their own opinion but I love the 6 speed R.
If you have children buy the leather. If your worried about your car being stolen buy the manual transmission because in North America millennial car thieves don't know how to drive stick.
Is this a joke that people don't know how to drive stick?
Gilang Pratama No its reality in North America. It’s almost impossible to sell a car now with a manual & recent stats showed they where the least likely to be stolen.
Manual is standard here in UK👍
Just for records sake the keyless golf isn't "hackable" the technology thats out there simply bounces or duplicates the signal from the wireless devices(keys) to the car.
As most of us in Britain have our cars in the drive close to the rooms the keys are in it means it can be an easy job for thrives, simply places the keys further away such as the 1st story rear facing rooms in the house would solve the issue.
Ignored all this and collected my 3 week old R today. Manager's car - he waited 9 months for it and only had it for 20 days LOL! Was not mad to sell it. Slate Grey (special) and he ticked every option on the list (save electric adjustment on the driver's seat for some odd reason). Akrapovic (LOVE it), performance pack, leather, 19" black wheels, sunroof, upgraded info and sound, DCC (an essential for me) - it's got the lot. £14.9K of options. And I love it. Paid 50% more than you did, but it's a bit special.
I certainly won't be putting a smaller numberplate on it. Tish.
I miss my 7R! While it's being repaired I get my R fix from watching your channel. Plus, we've had our R's for around the same time so that makes it more relatable for me, somehow.
Film start... BMW tears off....

Hot hatch need a DSG ? Can you please elaborate on that sentence ? I doubt most people prefer the DSG transmission sorely for the resale value. Personally, for me there nothing more fun than driving a manual hot hatch.
I had a manual focus rs and now have dsg golf r estate and the dsg gearbox makes it a dream and tbh i wouldnt touch a manual again
@jo-ashley Robert - Worth viewing my channel around my Golf R in a manual. I've had the car for over year and a half and love the manual gear box 👍
@@SamAustin fair play mate my brother has a gti in manual and wouldnt touch a dsg its each to there own i love my dsg but am lazy.
@@cheesesteakjimmy2076 Yeah both are great really and it is all personal preference ! Have enjoyed building a bit of a Golf R community on my channel so far and most people are split down the middle on DSG or manual versions.

5:05 you're welcome.
Just throwing my hat in this. You voiced a lot of opinions, and most of them I agree with somewhat. However, I think your opinion on the theft of a Golf R is a bit of a mute point.
From more of a factual basis, as someone that has worked on underlying keyless ignition technology. All keyless go technology has the same basic problem which is the wireless side. Thieves use a signal relay device to capture the key signal and re-transmit it to your car. The relay is two way, so that your key can communicate with the car and visa versa. This is a problem with ALL keyless ignition cars, not just the Golf R. The VW system is no less, or more secure than (for example) the Maserati keyless system or the Kia Keyless system. They don't "hack" into the system like you see from CSI or star trek or whatever. They just trick the car into thinking the key is there.
Statistically, the Golf R is no as desirable to thieves as the Audi RS 3 or the Mercedes AMG A65. If you look up theft statistics in London, The Golf R is something like 9th 0r 10th. Where as the Audi, Mercedes and BMW equivalents are all in the top 5. What all in the top 10 have in common is the keyless ignition. Strictly speaking, you're more at risk if you own a Chelsea Tractor with keyless ignition.
As someone else pointed out, a lot of the thefts actually focus on the keyed ignition models. The relay technology is still fairly expensive, hard to prepare for and you don't need to be too clever to break a window and steal a key from someone's front door. The relay technology isn't so simple or easy.
Just some food for thought on the keyless ignition and car crime statistics.
I owned a 2017 Golf R from new, had to get rid of it after a year because of the number of attempted thefts! (I live in the back corner of a cul de sac in a quiet area) They are targeted by thieves, ask any police officer what cars organised crime gangs go for and they'll tell you Golf Rs are the flavour of the month! Nothing to do with the keyless entry system, you've got 5 guys wearing ski masks welding knives/crowbars breaking in to your home in the early hours!
When buying something like this, factor in composite doors for the front and back of your house, a bollard for the end of your drive and perhaps a CCTV system! The composite doors at my house are what saved my car!
Shame I had to return it to the dealer, awesome car otherwise!
Niall I’ve had the opposite experience and heard the opposite from Police. I owned a 2014 Golf for 3 years and I lived in 3 different cities in that time. Including London.
I’ve hear from police that the Audi RS series are more desirable.
The golf R is also in a lower insurance band than the Audi’s, BMW’s, fords and Honda which suggests that they’re less prone to insurance claims (for a multitude of reasons) over their competitors.
So what can you do to combat this, aftermarket security devices?
SKRMZ put all your contactless keys in a aluminium tin
Kiran Payne see I’ve always had a little small engine polos and was thinking of upgrading to a golf R in the summer. Thanks though I’ll look into it
Keep the key in an RFID signal blocking pouch.
Doesn’t always work!
Or a simple metal box. Or keep it away from the front door.
Love the videos. Bought my golf r 7.5 three weeks ago. Five months old love the car. I was planning on buying a new one but the waiting time is ridiculous. The dsg is fab lapis blue stunning colour with upgraded alloys sunroof and rear view camera. Interesting discussion on the keyless entry avoid on any make models like the plague in my opinion thieves love them. Even my wife drives the car so versatile. Can’t wait for the next video.
I know I shouldn't have ordered a new R but I couldn't help it! Only a few more weeks to go..! Great video as always.
I have a Mk7 Gti and got one without keyless entry/go for the exact same reason! Terrible that they can be stole so easy!
It's horrible! Would hate to be in that situation
I bought a 7,5 Golf R. I literally ticked every option box. When I’d finished it cost 40k. If I did it again I’d defo not go so mad. The things I hate is that they charge you for leather int. rev cam. Good stereo. These should be included. It’s shocking.
Keyless go argument is BS. Have it and no issue. Live in North America, I recommend others do their research before taking this guys opinion.
Full leather/vinyl interior is much easier to maintain and clean. How is it not fitting for VW’s flagship premium hot hatch?
DSG is faster and can handle more power if you ever want to tune.
Def go for 7.5. Bigger infotainment screen and a virtual cockpit.
Agree on buying used car. Bought new and regret it.
Join the UK VWROC forum, all thefts reported on there are via a house break in, not keyless. Also ask yourself this....if low life want your car do you want them breaking in, searching your house or would you prefer they just took it with no fuss?
For me with kids in the house I'd prefer the latter.
This is very true!

Ive got a 7.5R Wolfsburg edition with Keyless entry and dsg now apr tuned, after owning and driving A45, C63, RS3, R32 & M3 6cyl its by far the best all round car i have owned unbelievable performance especially now with apr tuning but keeps its drivability and kills 95% of cars and bikes on the road. FUN!
Interesting to hear that you've driven pretty much all competitors and think the R is the best! :D
@@hampshirephoto All have their great points but personally i found the RS3 to jerky even new and one with 20,000 ks exactly the same my mother owns the C63 now great car love the noise but rear wheel drive it gets killed by my R off the line and chews 5k of tyres every 4 months, my A45 look likes your 14yo ...Just find the R gives you the best of everything unless your in the very small % that want a track car
Apr stage 1 or 2 tune?

I have the Keyless Access on the GTI Clubsport you see on my channel! - If you have Keyless Acess just put the keys in a box with Metal Housing when u go to sleep at nights! It will bounce of the signals and make hacking alot more troublesome! ;)
Or park your performance car in the garage??
JUST because you have a DBS does not mean that you can park like an absolute ham and cheese melt.
Good video btw. 😂
Haha true! Thanks for the kind words - glad you enjoyed the video!!
Got a 15 plate Mk7 R manual. Drove a 12 plate GT TDI DSG before. The manual is a far better drive than the DSG. But, once out of das welt warranty, getting an APR Stage 1 remap plus upgraded induction kit. Hopefully will push 370bhp plus a lot more torque. Golf R is the best car I have ever bought and extremely fun to drive.
Which security system would you recommend fitting for the golf R for a tracker and/or immobilizer?
Ghost.
@@jixuscrixus1967 yess ghost alarms are amazing!! U can do so much stuff
If you want a hot hatch you get the M140i if insurance is a problem and you want AWD then you get the S3 or focus RS
Nice video. Totally agree with keyless entry and full leather being unnecessary. I bought a 2.5 year old Mk7 DSG to replace a M135. Running costs are higher, don't forget Haldex and DSG service and with fuel economy if u drive very efficiently 380 miles on 98RON. The only thing I miss is 7th gear on the motorway compared to 7.5
Thanks Chris!
Lol you downgraded to a 4 pot
@@BalkanBoyBiH fraid so!. Put on 60k miles with m135i (new at time) and then bought a mk 7 golf R 2015 second hand (20k miles). The BMW is more of an event to drive, nicer sound, sit lower, handling can be livelier. I found the R better handling especially in UK conditions. I'll probably buy an Akrapovic exhaust.
@@BalkanBoyBiH I wouldn’t say it’s a downgrade. It’s just different. I’ve owned both. Loved both. They are both great whips just different.
i like your shift paddle shifter extensions. Can you tell me what brand and where you get it from?
You obviously have different options there in the UK with the R. Here in the US, we get two options to pick - paint color and manual or automatic.
Love the look of the golf R. Feel the seats whether they’re leather or cloth really let the car down. Not sure why they don’t have buckets like the previous r32?!
I have been reading that if you shut off your car in race that when you turn it back on that the mode will say race but the engine exhaust and throttle response reverts back to comfort. You then have to cycle through the drive select and re select race to get the entire car back functioning as the true race . Is this something you have heard before ?
Lee S yes to protect the engine from wet leg idiots who treat throttle as on/off switch from cold
Needed to watch this. I'm going for a 7.5 R before summer. Thanks for the video!
Did u get it in the end
@@mohammedakbarhussain5622 Yes, I still have it.
Please don't relax about theft just because you didn't get keyless start. These theives use transmitters to get in the car, not to start it and drive it away. Once they are in, they break the steering lock and wire the car. That will work on any car - even your car - if you have a key button that unlocks the car (instead of putting the key into the door lock). With the keyless start cars, the key must remain "in proximity" for the car to be successfully driven. That's why they again break the steering lock and wire those cars also.
Great comment about the very vulnerable golf R keyless entry as I never knew this! Can anyone comment if the GTI suffers with the same problem?
Keyless Access - You can turn off this function by using close button on key and then fast locking car again by touching door handle again. Go away from the range of sensor for 10 seconds and you shouldnt be able to unlock the car with Keyless Access but just with the unlock button on key. That works at least for european cars.
A good video and all points raised I followed in buying my Golf GTE. Yes I know it's only a available DSG and it's a GTE not an R but all other options are available on the GTE. Also bought mine used with 3.5k on the clock and better than list price when you could get them. Anyone wanting a fun and interesting experience try a Plug In Hybrid 🤔
Have you had any issues with it loosing power or bogging down??.
When approaching a roundabout slowing down I then put my foot down to pull off quickly to beat traffic and it just looses power like its going into limp mode for few secs then goes again once I taken my foot of the gas and put down again. Very disappointed. But love my car too . 7.5 golf r
I prefer the standard interior cloth and alcantara over the leather. Nothing to do with the price. I am looking to get a ghost immobiliser for mine the day i buy it.
Debadge the car, fit lower model badging, or fit a hidden switch from the fuel pump relay.
I will be buying a golf R soon and didn't know about the key issue. I will be getting the actual key instead thank you.
No worries!

Both very expensive flaws, vw skimping on parts
Any chance of a head to head with the Honda Civic type R or the Audi RS3 ??
TYPE R!
In the process of organising both!
RS3? Or S3? I’d like to see both but RS3 is a little beyond golf R territory
Rs3 would smoke a golf R. Maybe a S3 would be the choice. I saw a type r and golf r in a half mile race and they tied.
Obmot58 P completely agree S3 on paper very similar but would love to see the stats in a video like this to compare ? Again the difference between the Golf and the RS3 I would hope would be huge as the price difference is massive but be interesting to see if the RS3 is really worth all those extra pennies? The one I’m more interested in is the civic type R because very very similar prices .....
Here in the US we do not have interior or non keyless options only options DSG or manual; standard or spoked wheels. that's it.
Just about to buy one on a 65 plate 62,000 on the ckock. Hope i dont regret it

It always amazes me how much of a problem auto theft is in europe. Leather is the only option here in the states. DSG in the R is really uncommon here as well which is annoying since its the better option.
I have the smart ForTwo at the moment. No joke! And I’m thinking of buying 1. Will I notice the speed difference? 😂😂😂
Does these come manual or all all golf r and gti now automatic. I owned a 99 golf gti vr6 and enjoyed it alot
Great video mate first time checking your content I’m looking at buying my first golf having always owned fords in the past so hopefully will have saved enough cash for next summer and then a golf R will be mine defo subscribed
I've just put a deposit on an S3. Any chance you could maybe do a comparison video between the golf r and s3? A kind of is it worth the extra money type of thing.
I'm working on it! :)
nathan ogrady I have driven and lived with both. Can easily say the s3 is not worth the extra money, if anything it should be cheaper lol. The suspension, steering, handling and even launch control in the Golf R is much better then the Audi!
Did u do a muffle delete it sound better than it normally does
That comment about buying new is wrong. I had a well specced Mini JCW from new, six months later I made £56 on it. Doesn't sound like much, but with the right options, you can keep depreciation low.
Stephen Menet that is a rather rare scenario, can you tell us more about how you did that? Generally cars lose a hefty percentage of value as soon as it rolls off the forecourt!
Can you get the dynaudio system in the states? The Fender is shit compared to dynaudio.
Because you got the cheaper optioned car with no leather you also miss out of heated seats, which are super handy in WINTER!
Not true, my car has heated seats

Lots of words little substance
I think this is the only golf r driver I’ve seen that pointed out how often they’re stolen it happens to all fast cars though golf r , Audi s and rs , focus st and rs. If I get any of these cars even if it’s a small village where no crime happens anyway I’m still putting a clamp on my wheel and parking it behind the other car on my driveway.😂 still though a key ignition car can still be stolen easily hacking would probably take more effort.
to prevent those keyless theft just buy one of the faraday bags for your key i tested it and it has worked for me
I always thought the same with buying new, that you loose a load of money the moment you drive it off the forecourt - compared to buying something a few months old. However with the deals out there to be had, and if you are savvy its no longer really the case.
On the Golf R you can get 12% off with drive the deal, if you also take out the PCP and then just pay it off straight away (assuming you can financially do so) then you also get another £1500 off via dealer contribution. When you add all that up you do find its pretty close to what you can buy 2nd hand but near new for.
I originally did this, but cancelled my order once i learnt about the WLTP spec changes, and paid a premium to get a car to my spec (well better than it) and also be pre-WLTP and not have the particulate filterm along with dual injection - which has been dropped on the 2019 models, leading to carbon build up problems down the road.
You raise a good point!
I have a Golf R manual as a performance car. The manual is 1500 us dollars cheaper them the DSG In USA. Why to buy a performance DSG car? I'm just in love with my manual golf. My driving school is different comparing to your... Enjoy your nice car
Buying a car for resale value is like not driving it for low milleage. If you truly like to drive, if your truly passionate you wont buy your car for the next one, you'll buy your car for you. I'm sorry but nothing beats a manual for pure passionante rewarding fun.
Full leather looks used and creased hate leather seats from day 1
What year is the 7.5 ? Great video
In Australia, the keyless ignition and leather interior come as standard

It does not matter if your golf r is keyless or not, they still get robbed. only way to really prevent them from being robbed is to block them in hard with raisable bollards on a drive way, or park it up at a cop shop lol.
I am in the market for a Golf R and I am not set on new or used yet. I have had a price of £30,700 at 3.6% for new and around £26/27,000 used. Any tips & tricks on price or buying?
Thanks. I just bought a 2019 Golf r last week.
Where are u from
Disagree with the part about not buying new. I couldn’t find the spec I wanted second hand so I bought brand new and haggled. I got all my extras for virtually nothing. Dealerships had demonstrators that had 19” Pretorias but no DCC - DCC is virtually a must have with the 19s.
Lmao I got an R with leather seats push start and manual. Probably the best combo. Can’t steal a push start if it’s manual 😂 most people can’t drive it
May i ask what you pay for insurance on one of these?
Just got myself a golf r and watching this video i just realised that i used to drive that bus route at the start of the video once upon a time lol
At least here in Canada, automatic sports cars are actually less desirable. DSG Golf Rs are not more expensive because they are more desirable, they are more expensive because auto gearboxes cost more.
Those are not stock carbon fiber paddle shifters, are they? If not... where did you get them?
Very nice!+
You ramble on a hell of a lot.

U don't want the Mk8 it looks ugly
Hey I have got a Golf R it's got very low mileage and was manufactured in 2017. For the last week the battery is dead with a message on the infoltanement system saying low battery 12v please drive o a fast road at 40 MPH. Have you or anyone else experienced this? It seems to be a common fault with golf Rs as I've been reading on a few forums
May I ask, who makes the carbon shift paddles? It is very nice!
I'd like to know this also!
TheJoker ECS Tuning, theyre about $200 USD
@@JT-oz7yn I'm in the US so shipping would be cheap, was it expensive to have it sent to the UK?
Love how he has options for the R over there. Here in the US the only options are colors and wheels.
And the transmission type....
The new golf r now has keyless entry as standard so does Volkswagen want you to get it stolen but good video like as always
Haha! Thanks Steve
No it doesn't have it as standard
Nas h the new golf r 300hp has keyless as standard now and lane assist check the specs mate you order one now it has it on
they look rlly nice, it’s just a shame most of the newer ones are automatic
Yes the keyless start has a bad point. As today I was thinking about this feature & I thought I’m missing this feature, this video confirm I’m kind of happy I didn’t get get the keyless start.
I know that laugh at 5:10 for the M4!😂 now what’s the best word to describe this laugh?
With the exception to the point about the mk 7.5 vs the mk7 point I would personally do the exact opposite of everything you suggested. Even as far as that goes I think I'm just going to wait for the mk 8.
nice pick of color and wheel
same as mine
but i got 3 dr
I’m pretty sure they only offer the leather interior in Canada lol, I’ve never seen one without it
Maxi ?!? I’ve got the leather interior, im in the US
FKrueger2000 I mean they don’t offer the cloth interior
All true, only real option in NA is transmission choice. All the rest are bolt on bits.
I read a lot about DSG issues especially with the 7-gears version, the 6-gears it's not so problematic. I don't now if it is the one equipped on the golf R, but i'd rather go with a manual, less components, less issues.
Interesting, I haven't heard of any issues like this. Will look into it, thanks :)
Golf r 7dsg is wet clutch , no problems great gearbox .
@@tonymelnik2235 I didn't know that, thank you for the answer, I thought that it was the same gearbox of the standard golf.
theoldbarbarian DQ200 is the worst dsg ever made by vw. But it’s dry dgs clutch for low performance engines (max 250NM). Gti and zr ude DQ 381, wet dsg with 420NM design, so much better than dq200. DQ250 is also wet, but 6speed box. For comparison, at 200kph, my gti does on 7th gear 3300rpm, the same roms as 6speed clutch at 150kmh :). But in general, dsg are not very reliable, even in top cars like porsche (called as PDK).. regular hydro tiptronic is much smoother, robust and reliable. Gti/R are great, but im very disappointed from interior quality. Cracking, clickin noises everywhere.. something that i never experienced in my previous regular golf 2017 1.4tsi manual. I bought gti in mid 2018.
Awesome 👏 video once again bro keep up the good work 👌🏻🔥
Thanks so much dude!
Hi, Not sure about this video. I think your 5 tips are really just single personal opinions. Like other comments on here, there are other viewpoints and arguments for your points so not sure if these are really KEY considerations for potential buyers of a Golf R.
9:04 Buying the new Type R in America though, people are selling for higher than MSRP.
I own 2018 Subaru WRX sti .. I always wanted a VW golf R but people gossip that it’s not reliable.
What do you all think ?
Tunge VW golf 1’s are still in the streets. Simply, take a good care of it and she’ll last.
Hi. Understand you have sold your golf, but in regards to mpg, how many miles were you getting from a full tank with mixed driving ?
Great video! I love the Golf R but I would prefer a manual... but I understand that you chose the dsg which is practical when you’re living in the city. There is a “new” golf R engine with only 306 hp and I don’t understand why same is which Audi s3 and tts at least in Germany?
Thanks Benedikt!
