I'm new to this band but when I heard the opening lines to Seratonia, I was immediately a fan. Saw them play Manchester last night, however good you think the releases are, live they are incredible.
Most comments are from years ago, so I just leave mine here: I've been listening to this album non-stop for more than a year now, this brings me back to life every time I hear it, it's so unique and fresh. I like the others band of the moment too like Greta and Royal Blood, but HL has it's own style. Doesn't feel like anything else I've heard ever, and it sounds amazing!

Steve Oliver when I first heard them I swear it sounded like a "blast from the past" kind of deal. I thought it was older sound but it didn't sound old in composure. I was surprised when I found they're so new! Ah you're so lucky you've seen them live already!! I glanced at their tour dates and venues, sadly no where close enough to Arizona for me yet :c But, I hate concerts and yet them, I would go see. I am so impressed with the talent these guys show. I keep being told we gotta buy it, digital copy like. That's the only reason I don't own any HS albums. A touch of all the good musical stuffs, some kindness, some love, some hurt, some dark references, pretty girls, and the videos are fun to watch even the tenth time. I sense some honesty in the lyrics. Refreshing.

like I stated, "that era of rock". i'm not comparing them as to say, nirvana versus highly suspect. of course they sound entirely different from each other. which is nice. i myself (thanks to my awesome dad!) grew up with the likes of the doors, beatles, floyd, zeppelin, etc... then my generation was GnR, metallica, poison, ya know.. them 80's bands, then the next generation of great music was the 90's of course, a GREAT era of rock. then it died out with the death of cobain. since then in MY OPINION rock just seemed to fizzle on the back burner, or it was just me not able to accept the reality of it all. well, look at me, just rambling. I enjoy Highly Suspects music ALOT. it's new, its fresh, its raw! they very well could be part of a new generation of ROCK N ROLL!
