I'm 74, just got off training on my bike and did my weights this morning with a little indoor air gun pistol practice. Been going through all my preps lately and fine-tuning everything, no more gear to buy just maybe some food preps that I have to go through and change around. The human race is going nuts. In 2010 I was injured badly as a PSD Contractor in Iraq, prior to that I spent 12 years in the Corps then 13 in Law Enforcement, I was a very energetic and in shape man. When I arrived home from Iraq I was told by DR's that I would never walk unassisted again, as in I would always have to use a cane or walker. 16 months of brutal physical therapy and I was able to walk slowly on good days without using a tool. I'm now 58 I live in the mountains of Idaho and every day work my ass off and it kicks my butt. Continuing on and pushing hard gave me most of my life back, I can't run as hard corps anymore and that's okay. Get out there and push, you'll be amazed at what can happen and it may be what saves your life. When I came back from Iraq I was in the hospital on my death bed for a bit of time, it made me realize that I love life and simple things like breathing in fresh air feels so wonderful. Rock on and Semper Fi, we only live once and only we can make that life an awesome story. :)

I'm 67 years old and thanks to God in good shape even compared to a lot of younger guys. I'm handy with many weapons along with wilderness survival skills. However I have a wife and loved ones that would struggle in a hostile environment due to health issues and just not being conditioned for a SHTF situation. You don't walk away from your family. Really we cannot predict how things will be in a bad situation. If the grid goes down, the migrants go off the chain or a new virus of some sort is released. How do you respond? It's prudent to have back up rations and generators and have a means of home defence. We've totally lost any faith in our leadership. We don't like the idea of having to harm anyone but we could unfortunately be faced with it. God help us. Come Jesus come.

Start small. Baby-steps. Then work your way up. One piece of gear at a time. Get a decent 12-gauge. Probably the most versatile weapon you can own. $200-300 for a used one. I have a Mossberg 500. Plain-Jane-pump. Hit my first deer thrfough the vitals last year at 120 yards. No scope. Nothing special.

I agree with the message except for one key point. You are welcome to disagree with me on this and for you and older members of the audience I can somewhat understand why, which I'll explain more later. Strap in. This might be a long one.
I, as a young man (23), no longer believe this country is worth dying for. Everything that made it unique has been, subverted, perverted, outright destroyed, otherwise infiltrated, or so emasculated that it is a shadow of it's former self, and pretty pathetic one at that.
Honestly I don't really know where to begin. To go through every minute little detail of how I went from ultra patriot to this current view would take a literal novel length book. But I'll list some of the biggest reasons in my humble opinion why i feel this way.
    1. The destruction of family and traditional values/morals.
This is an issue that is prevalent in all of contemporary American society. There's no running away to a small town. I'm from a small town and the degradation is very real here too. There's almost no sense of community anymore. Everyone is only in it for themselves (hyper-individualism) and many so called "traditional" Americans are anything but.
    2. No viable prospects for putting down roots. This goes into several branches. The first is marriage. Older generations can't even comprehend how damn near impossible it is for a normal young man to find a decent woman his age. All the women want rich older men for their wealth and status. Literally none of them want to settle down and build a family together. So with no chance having a family here, what's even the pointbof fighting. What for? I can go to the Phillipines and get married to a woman that's actually wife material abd settle down there and have a family if American gen z girls won't. I'm perfectly ok with that. The other branch is economic. If you've been living under a rock, first off I envy you, second off life has become ridiculously expensive. What's crazier is I don't even spend on much outside of bills, food, and my car payments. According to boomers' advice im doing everything right. I'm thrifty, Iavoid wasting money, I don't go out, I work all the overtime I can get, and yet despite this I still can't afford a house let alone a farm or homestead to keep the family tradition going. If you are paying , you'll known that these issues aren't going away anytime soon, in fact they're slated to get far worse. New homes are price gouged by developers. Realtors are out to fleece you, rent is ridiculously expensive that I'm better off continuing payments on my crappy apartment than to rent a small house. Interest rates are ridiculously high, so loans are out of the question, and jobs are paying as well as they used to like in my parents' day. Then you have all the properties being bought up by trust funds abd big business or foreign investors effectively pricing me out of the American dream. Long story short the American dream is dead for the foreseeable future to basically almost my entire generation, the exception being those nepo babies, arrogant assholes born into extravagant wealth, who now get to enjoy it all without ever having worked a day in their lives. Meanwhile I'm slowly becoming part of the modern slave class because I'm obviously no longer middle class. Why should I bother to participate in this system as nothong more than a wage slave? Why not not just pay off my debt than get out and earn more elsewhere like Europe for example. Not only that but labor laes over and also the general culture trends more towards being pro employee/middle class. There's a reason Finland practically eliminated homeless and is considered the happiest country on earth.
    3. People have lost their ability to think critically. Everywhere you go. Left, right, in real life, and especially online, people have gone out of their minds and are acting in the most unhinged ways imaginable. This is obviously a bad sign. It means people are more prone to violence. While I'll gladly take up arms to defend myself and my loved ones, this is no environment to raise a favor in. Not if I want that family to be healthy and successful. Worse is that by not being able to think critically, reasoning with them will be impossible. All I have to do is say the wrong thing to their ears and I'm dead before I know it. Look up where the term "bushwacking" came from to see a real historical example of that occurring. The death of reason is the beginning of the end for a civilization.
    4. As a Christian, while I'm far from perfect myself, America and American culture lately, say over the past several decades, has gradually become more and more anti-christian. It's gotten to the point where our foreign policy outright supports regimes that deliberately and intentionally persecute Christians. Our government is extremely hypocritical about this to the point where if you bring it up, they slander you. We have literal congressman that , perhaps out of ignorance, perhaps of stupidity, or perhaps out of malice, are calling for a "ally" of ours to wage a campaign of extermination on a certain population, many of whom are Christians directly descended from the original 7 Christian churches in the Bible. As a believer I can't support an American regime(s) that have killing Christians as part of their policy.
These are things older people struggle to grasp but you must understand. The America you knew as a kid is dead. The new America is so different it might as well be viewed as the antithesis of everything you thought America was. Not a fun or pleasant reality to deal with or accept, I know, but the sad reality nonetheless.

Thats great practice for shooting clays. How are you with a rifle? Can you hit a torso-target out to 300 yards? 400?
How fast are your reloads? Good at clearing jams? Trouble-shooting your weapon if it goes down?
Do you have any first-aid training? Any experience with a 2-way radio?
My girlfriend and I are learning all this, on top of tending a nice garden (30'x40', plus 2 raised beds), and bowhunting for deer. So, practicing archery, a little rope-work to help with dragging them out of ravines, butchering them, hiking in and out of the woods, climbing up and down trees with our climbers. In the last 5 years we have become so much more self-sufficient than we ever thought we could be. Because we know that the more well-rounded we are, the better off we'll be.

Just right there at the very beginning with the exercising every single one of us needs to be doing if anything just that as for the training it's just not this channel it's just about every single one of them out there I think a lot of the problem is you see these guys have all kinds of space and privacy to do all this militia training the vast majority of us do not have that and it's a bit discouraging, just something as simple as a Mozambique drill yeah you go to a gun range and try that and see how long it takes before they kick you out.
For the few that have vast acreage to do this on that's awesome keep it up for those that don't don't get too discouraged do what you can, it really is a case of something is better than nothing.

      That's an absolute excuse man.
Most people work full time. Working full time is nothing, it's 40 hours a week. There are 168 hours in a week. Take away 40 and we'll even give you another 56 hours for sleep (which equates to 8 hours a night for 7 days in the week). 168 - 96 = You're left with 72 hours a week. You almost have double your weekly work hours to do something else. Have kids?? Yeah, so do most people!! LOL
Now, if you told me you work overtime like 80 hours a week, I'd have some sympathy for you, but you said full time. He didn't say do all of this all the time all day long every day. When you're not working this week, do some exercise or do some dry fire firearms training or improve the security of your home or property etc etc etc. Next week take an hour and focus on something else.
