I have been listening to Derrick Webb's 3 CD's non-stop since moving to Ohio in June . I found all three in mint condition at a thrift store for $1. Needless to say, I got my money's worth. They have helped me in some of the most difficult and trying times I have ever faced. They helped so with my faith in Christ, the Beloved. Thanks Derrick. I might come to Nashville to see you. I am full of high ideals like my God and Saviour. Stay true friend.

I looked up some of the songs and having reading the lyrics, I must admit I see nothing wrong with at least the songs I've read. Saint and Sinner, Wedding Dress. Now it's not to say I approve of it all, particular other artists who seem to use it to create buzz around themselves. POD's I Am, feels shady. Christianity is ever changing, it's not the old days anymore. But there lies the real problem, Christianity's move to appeal and adjust to the world. Being an old fashion Christian believer (don't mean a strict conservative Christian either) is often criticized by even other Christians. Keep in mind there are many kind of Christians. Don't assume all Christians are the same and many are more wrong than right.

So, he had a problem with the Church from the beginning. Interesting.

So what was the controversy? I'm guessing some people are "offended" by words. You want to speak to people outside your base you're gonna have to say some real things. The Talaban went around blowing up statues thousands of years old because of their archaic beliefs... sounds a lot the same to me. Censorship worked great for the Nazi's in keeping their base from knowing what was really going on around them. If someone can't handle a word, how can they deal with real people.

Remember God is offended by word, and he demanded censorship.

      @@Caderic Where is that, exactly?

      @@DontLetTheOldManIn Ephesians 4:29, Ephesians 5:4, Colossians 3:8, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 5:10, 1 Thessalonians 2:4, Psalms 19:14, Romans 1:29, Colossians 4:6, Hosea 4:2, Exodus 20:16, Proverbs 21:23, Proverbs 13:3, Proverbs 12:13, Proverbs 18:2
I can go on. This does NOT mean censorship of ideas, but of the words used to convey those ideas. An example would be talking about sex. Sex is a great God given thing. But when talking about sex, it shouldn't sound like we are reading the script from a hardcore porn video, or even a softcore for that matter.
More important the words, is the heart behind those words.

Christianity isn't white and clean and pristine until the sanctification process is complete. My christian walk has been dirty, gritty, struggling in and out of issues that aren't easily talked about in the churches. I say all that to say this you get real and blood raw, bare bones with Jesus He will transform that mess we are, even in our darkest depth, He will, you can Bank on it, He will transform you in a way you never thought possible. Paint by numbers religion has never been pleasing to God. The bible is clear on that.
