Saw you in person many years ago in Abilene Texas with a friend..You went on a solo riff on the electric guitar and it was pure awesomeness! This song was always my favorite on that album! Around 18 years ago I went to a local church to see Caedmon's Call. I had and old out of date "back stage pworkass" that I had ordered from some online promotion of anwould other show. So I brought it with me to the show just to see if it
Would work or not. That was a very dark time for me in my Christian walk! I used the "pass" and it got me back stage in a big room with the whole band! I got the chance to meet and pray with the whole band! I talked to Derek most of the time that I was back stage. He was so kind and so Christ like in his spirit and presence! Without saying just how down I was that night and why my faith had been shaken to the core, I just thought that I would go see the show and see if God had anything to say to me through the music. After leaving that back stage room and talking with Derek about the song "Somewhere North" and what it meant to me and finding out why he wrote it and of course getting to pray with Derek and the rest of the band, I left with a huge smile on my face, feeling that the dark thoughts and all the doubts about my faith in Christ had been lifted from my spirit and feeling so blessed and loved by God! It was like a special present to me from God! I hate to think of what would have happened if I hadn't decided to "put God to the test" that night and see if He would speak to me through the music of Derek Web and Caedmon's Call! He made Himself so real to me that night through the kindness of Derek and the band! God bless Derek, the rest of the band,and all who are reading this comment! 😎
