I remember Bob when he was asked about this farewell tour ...He replied he was surprised so many people would still want to see him...can you imagine...The man is a legend but he is so humble and you can see the total joy in his face when he is performing...Love you Mr. Seger...been a fan for 45 years
I typically try not to listen to old legends sing at their old age. Just kills their legacy once their voice is gone. Today for some reason I clicked on this and WOW - unbelievable. He is still awesome: good voice and range.
I'll always regret that I missed his last concert 😢 I had to tickets to the show got stuck out on the road I'm a truck driver so I miss a lot of what life brings you. I did get to see him at the Palace of Auburn Hills though got to take my mom before she passed away 😢 😔 it was a moment in time I'll always cherish. ❤ I miss my mom every single second.
Fucking incredible Bob sounds exactly like he did in 1978. I love this song even though I cry every time I hear it from losing a woman I love with all my soul and it was my fault.
Hello Nickpasto2059, how're you doing, Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
@officialbobseger39 Mr. Seger, it is definitely a privilege to answer your reply to my post and I have been listening to your music since the early 1980s.
Still a good voice. He doesn't have the range he used to. Neither do I. 😁 I started learning the song last night. The original is in the key of B. I will be lowering it to G. When I clicked on this video, low and behold, Bob Seger was singing it in G. I'm not surprised. When I saw him a few years ago, he was singing old time rock and roll in the key of C which couldn't be further from the original key of F#. As I say... Still good. I hope I can still rock and roll in my 70's.
A Gorgeous Song he was huge in Australia in the 70 s and i must have missed him if he came to our country .For some strange reason recently i saw his music on amazon and decided to buy some of his back catalogue including stranger in town . This song has been covered by so many musicians as the emotion in his voice is beautiful to say the least . yes iam lonely longing for my mother longing for a lady to be with me .he says some beautiful lyrics but all his songs are so brillant arent they
Every man has wished this for some woman when he is so lonely and tired and she is full of love and tenderness and her eyes look at him and he is melted into the universe and still she satisfies him by just being a woman....................and there
I disagree. I think it's better to leave the party while you're still having fun so to speak. When I was living in Ireland, I watched a rebroadcast of a concert Frank Sinatra had givein Dublin in, I think, 1986. He still sounded good, but it was obvious he was far past his best. And on some songs (e.g. "My Way") he just couldn't belt out those sustained notes like he'd once been able to. I was still living in Ireland when he died, and the Irish Times obituary was the most honest one I'd seen among the usual hagiographic ones that had poured in. The author noted that Sinatra had hung on too long, and while audiences still came to see his concerts, and he could still sing, you simply couldn't help comparing him unfavorably with the singer he used to be, a singer who was one of the all time greatest who ever lived. My hat's off to Bob Seger for bowing out before his performances start slipping. And doubtless, at his age, touring is a tiring endeavor he'll be happy to leave behind.
@@Hibernicus1968 Hot take. It took you a wall of text to explain something you could probably explain in a much more compact fashion. The arrogance on display is pretty astonishing.

yes me to wished i could've, but i will take this video thank the person very much for putting it out there. might not get what we want but do get what we need
Grande Bob Seager, és o maior, acompanho-te desde 1977 (Tinha 14 anos). Cantas e encantas, continua meu velho que transmites essa maneira de ser puro e duro, afinal o que somos,.
Consummate pro. Knows the limitations of his voice. Not trying to exceed them. The entire Toledo, Ohio show is on YT. It's excellent. The saxophonist, Alto Reed , passed shortly after. It's fantastic. He doesn't hit high notes, but he's smart enough not to try. Legend. God Bless Seger. Rumours, Night Moves, Hotel California, Buffett, The summers of 78 and 79 were grand. An amazing time to be 12 and two older sisters controlling the dial on road trips.
Agree, great time in my life too. With this song I shared one nite with a stranger, who was a friend of my best friends wife. Mostly just held and kissed each other all nite. The most sensual nite of my life. 35 years ago and I've never forgotten or seen her since. R Rogers
I typically don't listen to live performances. I like to HEAR the SINGER, not people screaming and whistling through the song. He's great! But live performances are murder.

It only kills their legacy if you think it does. Shouldnt be afraid of ppl growing old and avoid them for it
How they “sign” their names has little relevance to their legendary status…
Sorry to say, his voice is totally shot here. Sounds nothing like it did even in the early 2000s. Great song, though.
@@spirojus Really....totally shot??? Mate, you are totally tone deaf. This is spot on.
@@spirojus Mate you are dead set deaf. Faaaark. I can't believe you said this. You need to go drink some Roundup
It says a lot about a man how he feels about his Mom. Love this man and his music.
Iv'e loved this song for ever, how is it about all the mom's out there?
ok dang it's his mom's favorite song...And mine too
74 years old, sang as well as ever..Brilliant through and through..
Bob Seger's voice might have aged a bit, but he still sounds phenomenal. He still has the same sound and passion as he did when he was younger.
Bob is a real man
This has got to be among Bob’s best creations, immortalised by his voice, passion and musicianship.

I just could NOT believe how fantastic Bob Segere sounded after so many years?? That voice of his never changed, miraculous.
Definitely my favorite Bob Seger song this song takes me back to some good times and good friends...

One of the best ROCKERS ever!
This song live is a spiritual experience.

It is kind of surprising that this song only reached #13 on the Billboard charts back in 1979. My favorite song by Bob for sure!
@officialbobseger39 Mr. Seger, it is definitely a privilege to answer your reply to my post and I have been listening to your music since the early 1980s.
Omg, Bob Seger you will
always have a place in my heart. I love every song you sing. I agree. It does say a lot about a man when he honors his mom. ❤️
Agree he has been my favorite all my life ❤️. Love this man.
Sad, beautiful song. Brings back some great memories!
Bob Seger's voice has not changed at all, he only aged a little bet and his beautiful has turned white but he is still a handsome guy. Love him!!!!!

The Man is a ROCK GOD
Chill bumps baby. Rock on Bob.
It's criminal that he's retiring from touring when his voice is still this good.
