This song is all about the emotional struggles I/we face. I tried hard to capture that feeling of being stuck in darkness and despair, and how difficult it is to escape those feelings on our own. We often feel abandoned when we need help the most. It's kind of crazy how just a simple human connection-like one ordinary person-can really change our lives. They can pull us out of our isolation and help us stop feeling so miserable. If not, our emotions can totally wear us out. Relationships can leave a deep emotional mark on us, or sometimes we go through tough experiences that change our perspectives and make us feel less human. Pain is always there-it’s easy to push it aside, but it doesn’t just disappear. In fact, a lot of who we are comes from dealing with pain and those complicated negative emotions.
