Excellent video great to see that new drill sowing is first acres. Thanks for the video. Would like to know more about the cover crops. I don't understand why putting some sunflower just before winter. Won't gonna grow a lot?
Thanks for watching! The sunflowers will only get a little growth on them. Cattle can graze on them. Honestly we had an old bag of them laying around and just used them up in this mix.
@@farmingwithcarp8551 ahah OK nice. Have you ever try to grow some fodder beet for the cows or some kale it change from cereal and add more diversity for cows and the groubd
@@benjaminboyer4748 our summer grazer mix we planted in late spring has brassicas and other species to make this field have a diverse variety, but with lack of rain it never grew this summer
@@riderofnature5023 yeah definitely won't work for the buckwheat sunflower and any other large seeds and it has a much lower germination rate for stuff like rye
I hope you can show us how this develops over the next couple weeks/months...
How do you like weights on the drill wings? Ours didn't come with them
What do you have the mechanical delay setting on? I'm having issues there. Skips or delays
3 seconds for the on. .5 seconds for the off.
@@farmingwithcarp8551 THANK YOU!!!

@@farmingwithcarp8551 oh OK. Have you got the yield in dry matter to know how much feed are available for the cows
Good job!
Is that seed mix made to your order or is that a commercial mix available to anyone?? And have you used that particular mix before?? Thanks...
We’re r u getting your organic seed??
Is it not a little late for seeding sunflower and buckwheat?
It is. Had a few bags laying around and just added them to the mix.
Why not broadcasting CC?
because it doesn't work well and they have a beautiful no-till drill
@@ryecarlson7867 have you ever tried broadcasting CC?

@@ryecarlson7867 ok, but small grains germinate well?
