Those new houses just outside Haworth look more desirable than most. Not only are they made of local stone so they're not too intrusive, but what a great view out the back! 🤠
Just goes to show that GWR's Collett, Churchward and Hawksworth knew exactly what they were doing? The one alleged quote was from some GWR directors demanding why another railway company could build three 4-6-0's for the cost of two GWR's 4-6-0 'Stars', the great G. J. Churchward's terse response was "Because one of mine could pull two of their bloody things backwards!"
I agree. No Great Western shed master would have allowed a Castle to have such a bad steam leak as Pendennis Castle has. It’s been like that for about 18 months.
Kudos to the drivers who can make the engines shout. That was fantastic !!!!! Wish i had been there myself 👍👍👍👍👍
Had a fantastic time at Keighley on Saturday I think the GWR locos are the best sounding Steam
I always remember the tss, tss, tss, of the crosshead vacuum pump on GW engines.
Enjoyed your video, yet another great gala at K&WV, was there myself on Thurs / Fri as its my local heritage line, i have subscribed to you...Mal

i should imagine there are strict conditions on architectural aesthetics in some where like Haworth
Very good video, thumbs up :)
Great sound!
A great reminder of my youth growing up in Cornwall ! Looking forward to the 4-6-0 County in action ,my favourites?
Top notch video 😄

Great to hear the bark of GWR engines being worked hard
Music to my ears. Hope you enjoy visiting other heritage railways along the route.
Of course, as a Taff Vale Railway engine, 85 is technically a GWR engine as well
4079 got more steam leaks than a Chinese laundry
The Didcot trademark!
Didcot really, really could get some lessons on how to make piston glands steamtight from Tyseley, though ... (see also 2999)

Jeez, that isn't exactly steam tight at the front end...........
