God's Wonderful Railway Invades Yorkshire KWVR Steam Gala 2024

Coming up in this 2 hour special we are at our friends at The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their annual Steam Gala this time with a Great Western theme to it for the 2024 theme.
The 1st guest loco was The Great Western Railway Society's GWR Castle 4079 Pendennis Castle from The Didcot Railway Centre who was making his 1st ever visit to the railway as part of his 100th Birthday Tour.
The 2nd guest visit for the gala weekend was The Great Central Railway based Modified Hall 6990 Whitherslack Hall who she along with Dennis was making her 1st visit to the line.
The visitors were supported by the home fleet of The Bahamas Locomotive Society duo 45596 Bahamas & 1054, 41241, 85, 52044, 78022 & 75078.
1 notable absents from the gala was the line's flagship loco in Black 5 45212 who she was stopped for maintenance as she was getting prepared to return to the mainline later this year.
We see Friday, Saturday & Sunday of the gala weekend.
The main rides during the gala were the guest locos on solo runs & the 2 double heading with the hall leading & at the 3rd time of asking on the Sunday a rerun of the ill fated on board filmings from 2019 & 2023 of The Bahamas Locomotive Society duo in 1054 & 45596 Bahamas & 3rd time lucky it was a success with the 2 locos putting on a worthy display & now that has finally by accomplished it can finally be laid to rest.
The rest of the filmings were taken at some of the most notable lineside locations between Keighley & Oxenhope with the odd station shots as we see a variety of workings including gds trains & double heading.
Friday & Sunday were the best days with perfect sunshine with Saturday being on & off due to the rain forecast but we pulled through.
The gala for us had been a success originally on the Saturday we were only supposed to have done the afternoon into the late evening as during the morning & early afternoon we would have been seeing Locomotive Services Group's 34046 Braunton working south over The Settle & Carlisle with a Steam Dreams working however the trip was cancelled.

There's always one main line working that gets cancelled, it seems. 9 times out of 10, sticking to a preserved railway has better results. Let me help you with some spelling: absence. To me, Pendennis Castle is a "she", because of "her" shrill Swindon whistle. What's not to love about God's Wonderful Railway?
