It was never really a debate. That’s why us “old heads” (40 and 50 year olds) get so mad. It just was never close but young Bron fans and some old, somehow made it a debate when there wasn’t one to start with. Makes zero sense.

1 vs 1 I am not arguing either way, Bird was certainly an absolute killer..defense on Lebron would be tuff but we also know what Lebron will do to try and get buckets..just bum rush the basket. That only works so much. Jordan vs Lebron is a debate one on one in my mind. Dr. J I didn't see play..or to many live game footage but an icon no doubt. What I can say is any of them, Bird, Dr. J. Kobe and others I can live with their losses. Even if they had a bad game or series..Lebron changed the rules..he hasn't not played on a Super team since his intial Cleveland days. I respected him then. He could have 8 titles at this point and it still wouldn't matter to me.. it's borderline video game forced trades yet countless failures.

I love Bird, but I still got Lebron, Wilt, Kareem, Kobe and Magic ahead of Bird. I think he’s exceptional, but the way Jordan owned Bird when they played would have been the same result, tho less emphatic, if playing Lebron.
There is a reason why LeBron fans only want to talk about the finals opponents and not the road to it. They know Lebrons road to his finals was laughably easier than Jordan's. Even when we talk about Jordan's early playoff struggles against Boston and Detroit it would be like LeBron being drafted to a weak western team and having to play the 2000's Spurs or Lakers in the early rounds. And I find it funny that no one was calling the team's Jordan beat in the finals weak and nobodies until a certain superstar kept losing so many finals. Their intentions are so transparent. Additionally you'd think LeBron fans would be more sympathetic with Jordan's opponents. Making it to the finals from the weaker conference to get beat by the best team from the better conference? Sounds like most of Lebrons finals career, doesn't it? Oh except that 2011 series. That was just a choke job.
Been saying it for years, Imagine with his Cavs team his first two seasons in the NBA facing the Warriors with KD in the first round....In a best of 5 series! Thats basically what MJ was facing with Boston his first few seasons. Jordan didn't have a single other allstar on his team and was facing a team with 5 future Hall of Fame players, led by a guy who was a back to back to back MVP in a prime Larry Bird. And yet Lebron stans love to say Jordan sucked because he couldn't beat them.😒
They love to cry about the team he played against while simultaneously ignoring the team the he played on right before that in Miami. Nobody was whining and crying for the teams losing to Miami year after year when lebrons team was stacked...but they all wanna cry foul when he went up against a stacked team.It don’t work like that.... They also love to say MJ never played against a team like the gsw,but he also never played on a team like Miami OR with as many HOFs as lebron has!!And yes he still did it better, won more and lose 6 fewer times! This is just one way of showing this ain’t close, but there’s 100 more ways that clearly show lebron isn’t and has never been on MJs level.
@@dc4690 speaking of Stacking teams I want to remind people that back in 2020 LeBron was actively trying to recruit KD, Kawhi to the Lakers in addition to AD. You had guys like Shannon Sharp all upset that those players had the nerve to say no to the King. Casinos are jealous of how LeBron tries to stack the deck in his favor. Jordan wanted to beat the top players in the league. LeBron wants all if them to join so they can gang up on everyone else. They mad at GSW both because they beat him and because they took a page from his book and did it better.
They always bring up his finals appearances but the truth is they were one the most depressed group of people in the planet not once, not twice, but SIX times! 😁
Here in Phoenix we were sure the stacked Barkley led Suns could take the Bulls. They were really that good. I was in complete shock when Barkley walked off the court with his head down.

We can all agree Lebron is a fantastic player. He truly is. However he’s not at Jordan’s level because nobody is 🤷♂️ I’m 32 and Ive been watching the NBA and I feel like there’s some strange obsession with stats (from the players). From being able to see Michael play, he genuinely didn’t even care about stats. He cared about winning.
LeBron fanboys still try to convince themselves he's better even with these stats, facts & figures slapping them in the face. Even frowing up here in NY I had the privilege of watching MJ's entire career (thanks to WGN) & this comparison couldn't be any closer to truth. I knew every night when watching MJ I would see something I've never seen. He never disappointed, he never slacked on either end of the floor. He was the best player on the court every night & it was noticeably obvious when watching him play that it felt at times surreal. Not taking anything away from LeBron because he is & will go down in NBA history as one of the greatest, but MJ was & always will be the greatest.
This personally was closed long ago. Ever hear some say “I wanna be like Lebron”? Or call a player in another sport the Lebron James of that sport? I never have. I have only heard “I wanna be like Mike.” Or he is the Michael Jordan of “insert sport here”
10 times scoring champ, 9 times all defense. That means he's the best offensive player but also the best SG in the LEAGUE. Think about that for one second. That's Crazy......
This video is all facts and truth. I've watched both these players in their prime. And at one point was a huge lebron fan. But over the years watching lebron and his team swapping to win chips has turned me away from being a fan. Just not what a consider great in my opinion. Its just taking advantage of situations to maximize winning potential. And it has paid off for Lebron..but for me I consider lebron a good basketball ball player. That made basketball choices to win not show greatness. Not taking his team over and having the ability to make them winners. As soon as his team lost Lebron goes to another team with better players. Or at least players he felt were better to win. Not even giving his teammates a chance to get better and grow together..maybe his 1st trip in Cleveland he tried to do so. Just couldn't lead the team over the hump to a chip. But lebron is not in my top 5. Cant place him before the Black Mamba, Magic, bird, Kareem and for sure not even close to Mj. I'd also have a few other greats before Lebron. That stuck it out with their teams good and bad. Yet with their greatness helped those teams win with out jumping to a better stacked roster. That's just my feelings on Lebron. No one tops MJ and fans of whom ever shouldn't try and compare their favorite player to MJ. Because the facts will just let them down. Enjoy who you like and let them play for their own legacy. I'm Just happy to be one of those that know MJ is the Goat. He doesnt have to say it. Everyone else does that for him that lives in reality. :) great review bro. Oh and Nick Wright is a complete buffoon.
Seems nobody wants to bring this up as well. If MLB didn't go on strike we may not have seen MJ in a Bulls uniform or on the basketball court ever again. He was improving so much that he was 1-2 seasons from going to "The Show". We have to thank the MLB for going on strike.
Lebron did not have a 16 year prime. That would mean he was in his prime was from his debut to nearly the end of his career.. Lebron's prime probably started around age 25-26 when he went to Miami. And although he played well after leaving the heat he hasn't been in his prime for a number of years. He peaked early 30s. He's now 37.. He may have had 7 or 8 prime years. Jordan played both sides of the court his entire career. Lebron hasn't been a good defender through most of his 30s. Also Jordan played with the wizards past his prime and never stacked that team to give himself an advantage. Meanwhile LeBron has stacked his teams for years. If he played with a regular team like MJ did with the wizards at the end of his career Lebron would not have a wall of all-star players to catapult himself. Had MJ did the same he'd have atleast one more title under his belt, but he never took the easy route. MJ was a true warrior at heart/spirit.
Your getting prime and peak confused. His peak started in Miami as that was the peak of he potential in muscle and athleticism. After Miami he was an extremely slow decline. And in 2020-21 in had about 40inch max now it’s around 38-37. He been in he’s prime from almost the start. He a great player but He ain’t the goat tho.
Prime is from when you reach adulthood to when you start your decline. Which happen in your 30s. Lebron started going down around 30-31 although it was very slow as I said so it was almost unnoticeable as he only lost 4 inch’s of vert in 6years and 6-7 inches in 8-9 years, it’s impressive.
It’s a different game since 2005…when Stern changed the defensive rules Steve Nash went from averaging 12/6 in his first 8 years to winning back to back MVPs over Shaq and Kobe….it brought in the softest eras of hoop and made the game easier to play.and Stern said it himself how the game needed to be changed so the small player could have a chance to dominate.
Yea and we see this sort of sports propaganda leak out in other places as well and it effects young fans that don't have a good grasp of basketball history. I'll give you an example. ESPN spouts off constantly about "Curry is the greatest shooter we've ever seen! He changed the game!" In reality, NBA executives changed the game and that made a player like Curry possible. I'm not saying Curry is not a great shooter, I'm saying no hand checking and tighter foul rules is what made a player like Curry possible. ESPN, of course, is not allowed to tell the truth about how the game really changed so they just tell everyone that Curry changed it. Its simply not true.
@@jackastor5265 the example before Curry is Nash..his first 8 years he was averaging 12/6 then Stern changed the rules and reason for doing it and he wins back to back MVPs when Shaq and then Kobe should’ve won. Stern stole the soul from the game, it’s quite awful for a pro sport.
@@mannyneva1760 Yes, I was agreeing with you and giving an example of how the modern sports media uses propaganda to pretend like the game wasn't changed fundamentally by NBA executives making rule changes.
@@jackastor5265 I understood that, but that Nash example is what Stern was pushing for…he was losing ratings especially when the ref game fixing came out during that period of time…Lakers 3peat was rigged as well as the Miami Heat chip.

Look at when they show Bron taking 3’s. The whole team is all hanging out on the perimeter. No one is in to be ready for a board, so they are just conceding the position to the defense basically if he misses. The NBA today is so weak in the way they play the game. Most teams today would get dusted by the good hard playing defensive teams of the 80’s and 90’s. Wouldn’t even take the best team.

To me. It was two NBA Final that LeBron James lost. And your right, one was Dallas Mavericks. The other team was the San Antonio Spurs. The first finals Miami won 4-3. The very next year Miami goes to the finals again and lost 4 games to 1, knowing that LeBron James have the same teammates from the year before. That didn’t make any sense either.
Well to reality and nba history it’s 6 BAD losses all while in his primes...And that loss to the spurs was the worst loss in nba finals history. The #2 worst loss in nba finals history happened to lebron as well. Those things can’t be on ur resume if ur the greatest of all time.None of the ‘goat’ candidates in any other sport have losses like that...and they sure as hell don’t have that many of em either! There is no reason for lebron to legitimately be in the conversation. The media is just trying to force it into existence via debate shows and other morning/mid day sport shows. It is so ridiculous and desperate!

Great reaction brother, I agree with everything! It’s not close at all, and never was. Even though LeBron is great, MJ is, and will always be, the greatest ever.
The media lies and has amnesia. I’ve always said Jordan was way better and I watched most of his career since 89. Only two athletes have made my jaw drop on a consistent basis. MJ and Barry Sanders.
Not to mention everybody was thinking that lebron would edge jordan on stats. Not when you break it down like that MJ just crushes everybody everybody.
I have Lebron James in 8th place of the greatest players of all time just after Tim Duncan. I have MJ, Bill Russel, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird. Lebron is so bad on free throws and he has very less clutch gene = no killer mentality like MJ had !! My top 10 NBA players of all time: 1. Michael Jordan 2. Bill Russell 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. Kobe Bryant 5. Magic Johnson 6. Larry Bird 7. Tim Duncan 8. Lebron James 9. Shaquille O´neal 10. Wilt Chamberlain
Exactly.. dead on! And i really think having just 1 scoring title speaks volumes too. Winning all them scoring titles and championships in a league with barkley, ewing, robinson, malone, shaq, olajuwon, manning, kemp, and all the other 90s greats is just amazing!
Can never be the GOAT after the 2011 finals when a fucking bench warming scrub in jason terry outplayed you. When you avg under 19 ppg in that finals as well.
Jordan won every opportunity he had to win the ship. Also, he did it against several Hall of Famers. If it wasn't for Jordan, Stockton and Malone would be goated as the best 1-2 punch in NBA History. That team was so good, and featured arguably the best PG(Stockton all-time assist leader) and PF(Karl Freakin Malone- Yes I Considered Duncan, Garnett and McHale obviously) of all time. The Jazz might have been the better team, but the Jordan Factor beat them twice in the finals. Yes, LeBron carried some teams to the finals virtually by himself in a very weak Eastern Conference, and the 2017 win over the Warriors is one of the greatest accomplishments in NBA history. However, when it comes to clutch performances when it matters, there is no comparison. Jordan had 6 opportunities, and he has six rings.
Nobody else ate once the bulls got to the table.. rockets got leftovers when he played baseball that’s it. Everybody ate in Lebrons era….whole league at big mama’s house on sundays
Great raction! I saw this video years ago for the fist time, but just today I realized one thing, MJ is on the top 5 guards in both blocks and steals but at the same time is on the top 10 in points scored while having played less seasons and less game than anyone else but Wilt, and the reason why he is and always will be the best ever is 'cause he was able to achieve his level of greatness at such level and in such short time that is impressive, I'm sorry but if to LeBron (or any other player for that matter) can't reach MJ in at least the same amount of time, there is no point even to talk about it, but since LeBron took 18 years and the only thing he is better is on totals, but if compared to MJ he might be second, but not a close second
NOT. KD is NOT an assassin and no legacy. I love KD but would rather watch any 90's BULLS playoff or Finals game rather than ANY playoff game today. Right, Heat was expected to win in 2011 but Dallas was not a bad team at all. They annihilated their way to the finals before they won the championship. It's not really like the Heat lost the trophy but the Mavs won it.

“I’ll say this about him (Jordan), he never came to me and asked for other players. He never came to me and asked me to draft a player. He never came to me to ask me to trade for a player. Never once did that happen.”
Jerry Krause (Bulls GM during the Jordan Era)
It was never a debate MJ all the way!!!
Jordan did all of his damage when analytic stats weren't there.
While ALL CURRENT PLAYERS are too conscious of their stats.
Michael just focused on being good at well... everything.
Michael never went to check the stat sheet in a game where either he was being blown out or was blowing out the opponent in order to check if he was a rebound or assist away from a triple double

He was the first player in history to be selected to 9 All Defensive First teams.
He was the first player in history to get 200 steals and 100 blocks in a season, it has still only been done by 3 players. (Michael did it twice).
He was the steals leader 3 times.
He's the only guard in history, relative to his position, both in the Top 5 for blocks and Top 5 for steals.
He was the defensive Player of the Year and Scoring Champion in the same year, the only player in history to accomplish this.
His 131 blocks for the 1988 season is still the most blocks in a season by a guard in NBA history.
Word...
It was never close. MJ is the goat by a wide margin. I have Kareem as my 2nd alltime player. And it's a huge gap between MJ and Kareem in my opinion. But that just my opinion.
Them 10 scoring titles
I agree. I have Kareem 2nd and Russell 3rd. Bron is #4 to me, but still could make top 3. I just don't see him supplanting Kareem.
@@robertihde7806 good top 3
Correct. It was never close and if people today weren't so stupid, it would never have been a thought let alone a conversation. But stupid people think stupid things smh
I got Jordan, Wilt, Kareem, and Russell.. then there are others
It was never really a debate. That’s why us “old heads” (40 and 50 year olds) get so mad. It just was never close but young Bron fans and some old, somehow made it a debate when there wasn’t one to start with. Makes zero sense.
LeBron fans are in denial!
The only reason it became a debate is because LeBron claimed he was the GOAT after defeating the Warriors. That's like giving yourself a nickname. SMH
@@thedivision2761 Funny thing is LeBron did give himself "King" nickname
To me it was the media making it a debate for the sake of a story. If James retired today they would move on to the next guy.
It was never a debate
Michael Jordan made the #23 the most iconic jersey number in sports. Why? Because he's the G.O.A.T.

19:34 These numbers show that Jordan was much more complete than James.
In Lebron's day you can't touch his ass,..jordan got mobbed ,..smashed ,..hit up..thrown to the floor,..most of his career ..and still dominated,...defensive as well as offensive master,...plus the 90's teams were way better and tuffer !!! Jordan ALL DAY,...Kobe is next !!!
You betta preach🎤🔥🔥!! MJ🐐 Kobe🐐 & LBJ is the Fake goat🦌😅
It ain’t close my guy…Bird would wipe the floor with Lebron and 70’s Doc would too
Facts !
@@joesmith3098 me would see Lebron soul 1 on 1…you don’t see hoop very clear and although people are mourning Kobe he ain’t in the same sentence as Doc and Bird.
you could do the same for Larry Bird. James would still lose. Reggie Miller is correct. Prime Larry Bird is a better choice than Prime LeBron.
If I want to win, first pick Mike, second pick Larry Legend. The two most competitive guys in team-sport history.

..is a combination idk how anyone manages to beat no matter who they taking on.
Being runner up in the finals often means that you wouldn't have made the finals if you played in the other conference.
Here in Phoenix we were sure the stacked Barkley led Suns could take the Bulls. They were really that good. I was in complete shock when Barkley walked off the court with his head down.
If you’re 20% in the clutch, you should be the last person to get the ball. Imagine how many times this was actively ignored and the game was lost as a result 😂😭
That plus he is Karl Malone at the free throw line 😅
We can all agree Lebron is a fantastic player. He truly is. However he’s not at Jordan’s level because nobody is 🤷♂️ I’m 32 and Ive been watching the NBA and I feel like there’s some strange obsession with stats (from the players). From being able to see Michael play, he genuinely didn’t even care about stats. He cared about winning.
Just the fact that people need to have their guy humiliated like this. MJ did all that in basically 13 seasons......that is domination.
Kobe is better than lebron
Completely agree that Kobe is better.
I'm old school, I'll take Larry Bird over Lebron James any game.
Bron fans is saying bron surpassed kobe in numbers 🤣
Facts! I know but I want to acknowledge that
Agreed
This personally was closed long ago. Ever hear some say “I wanna be like Lebron”? Or call a player in another sport the Lebron James of that sport? I never have. I have only heard “I wanna be like Mike.” Or he is the Michael Jordan of “insert sport here”
Being a bulls fan I wanted Mj big time. It wasn't very long before we were asking "Is this guy the best ever?' The answer was yes!
When you were like "I'm gonna get controversial here - it ain't even close" you got a sub lol. Great energy
LeBron is great Michael is the GREATEST.... WHAT MORE CAN I SAY..
He left for a time, when his dad died. Then came back and dominated. What other player has the skills to do that?
Nobody
Seems nobody wants to bring this up as well. If MLB didn't go on strike we may not have seen MJ in a Bulls uniform or on the basketball court ever again. He was improving so much that he was 1-2 seasons from going to "The Show". We have to thank the MLB for going on strike.
Listen Mike was half the size of Lebron and went thru big guys when he scored some easily. plus MJ did it first globally
MJ is a class act.
So smooth so exciting to watch.
Pure athleticism.
JORDAN IS THE GOAT, AND IT WAS NEVER EVEN CLOSE.

Jordon was on Pace for 46000 points. If he didn't go to college 50,000
Well said brother

Really appreciate that🔥✊🏽💯
Look at when they show Bron taking 3’s.

Kobe is a better goat comparison. MJ still wins.
KD in 5 years will be up there. Doubt his stats will supersede MJ.
NOT. KD is NOT an assassin and no legacy. I love KD but would rather watch any 90's BULLS playoff or Finals game rather than ANY playoff game today.
