"Proshipper art style" is literally just "artistic franchise fandom art style", for most fandom-goers are mostly influenced by media, except proshipper art may have more detailed anatomy or darker influences (like obscure gore manga).
Reminds me when I saw a video that mentioned stylisation and said kind of insultingly that a certain example proportions only worked in NSFW art. And it wasn't even super extreme, it matched my real natural body type that I'm stuck with. People really need to spend more time looking at people in the real world and seeing how much variety there actually is when it comes to realistic body types

I say there is no such thing as a “gooner” art style, “gooner” art can be ANY art style, people are just too sensitive, and as someone who’s built with a chunky body, I know where the fat goes, I don’t exactly know how to draw my body though, so I can only really draw society’s “normal” sized people (sorry for the yap session)
"Goon" originated to my understanding from the 60s using "goons" as a term to refer to henchmen like the 60s joker having a group of goons to help him fight batman.
The fact any plus size character or person is being drawn and called "gooner art" is insane bc thats blatant fatphobia. Yes there is more nsfw intended art of fat people but that doesn't mean everyone drawing plus size people/characters are into them that way. Alot of art is studies of the body, there's an entire book on how to draw bigger bodies so you can learn to draw people that aren't thin as a hazbin hotel character all the time.
Its really concerning we can't just appreciate the body in a respectful way anymore in art without someone assuming you're doing it because you're into something and proceed to shame you for having human feelings. Yeah, theres alot of fetish and wacky artists out there, and alot of them are doing things that is more adult but as long as they arent literal pdf files or abusive or breaking any laws, let them be. We really need to normalize again people can and will make more indulgent art of their tastes and thats okay. If you feel a certain way about things and youre being respectful about it and just enjoying something in your own time then go ahead. Just be healthy about it.

I once got blocked by an artist on DA I tried to request because she mistook me for a creep because my perfectly innocent, SFW request was something that could be mistaken for a fetish. Tbh I’ll never understand the art community, like this is kinda like “fixing R34” when people harass others just for what they draw- also I don’t understand styles, when I was little I only thought there were three styles, cartoon, anime, and realistic. But now it’s so confusing. Like can’t we just accept that everyone likes to draw in different ways, let them draw abstract art, let them draw in a style they like, let them draw nsfw if they’re doing everything correctly, let them draw how they feel- is that too hard to ask from this community?

I make lots of OC's more plus-sized because it's a representation of my body type. I don't make fun of skinny people and it's not ugly, it's just me drawing my insecurities and just reality in general. If you look at me from the front you see the "HOuRgLasS" body type (a sh1t name if you ask me) but if you look from the profile you will see my chubby tummy. For other people it's different. Everybody is beautiful no matter how they look

Back in *my* day a goon was what you called someone from the Something Awful forums. Quite the cesspool from my understanding but that aside, at least it was a specific term for a specific group of people. It weirds me out how goon is used nowadays tbh.
