Leads me to believe that he was an asshole behind the scenes... im not saying he was... just reminds me of what happens at the end of a crappy life. Think Puff Daddy had he passed before the scandle.
Yeah, it's disgusting, especially from Vince & Hogan. Vince is a despicable human being. Couldn't care less about all the people who made him a billionaire, he think it was ALL him. Well, without those other peoples talents he'd still be trying to get by pulling off the odd stunts here & there with Eval kineval etc. And it was just downright disrespectful for Hogan not to bother showing up for it
My best friend worked at a bar and grill in Dayton Ohio. The owner of the resturant was friends with Mean Gene, Gene would stop in everytime WCW came to Dayton, I was able to meet him, Bobby Heenan, and Nick Bockwinkle, great times, great guy!
Mustve been along time ago if Nick Bockwinkle was there...im from Dayton..what was the name of the bar.....it wasn't the pub that was attached to Hara Arena was it
Mean Gene Okerlund - GOAT. I think it is sometimes forgotten that Mean Gene helped play a big part in WWEs success in the 80sand early 90s. Shocking that only DDP turned up to his funeral.
i just love seeing this, i could hear gene talk forever, i grew up watching gene on tv and his unmistakable voice can be recognized anywhere, i love his stories WOW what a life , RIP gene , i sure miss classic wrestling of the early days , RIP to all those guys that entertained us and that have now passed on
Surprised Hogan didn't try to take credit for the "Mean Gene" moniker. Had his pizza a couple times back in the early 2000s, it was pretty good. Would have loved to meet him and Bobby Heenan. Favorite "Mean Gene" moment was the outake when a WWF sign fell while he was interviewing Rick Rude and Heenan. His outakes are hilarious.
I saw the pictures. There were others like the killer bees, Brian knobbs and Mike white. But yea gene loved Hogan , had him introduce his into to the hall of fame. Where was he
@@jasonkessler6841 I don't know if Tyler doesn't know that Gene Okerlund died a few years back after a very hard battle with liver failure involving at least two transplants or if he was being "smart (expletive)" about it but I agree that Gene won't get to read these comments. May Gene RIP. IIRC Jesse Ventura is still living as of early June 2024.
Still can't believe Hogan didn't make it...after all they'd been through. Or Vince even.....whatever Vince may be....he always seems sentimental about the people with him in his early days of running the company.
Mean genes burgers in Tulare California. Ate there a few times, great burgers and milkshakes. I believe they are now closed. I believe Covid 19 wiped them out. Cool place!
Jesse as an entertainer and commentator was the best but Jesse as an individual is a narcissist…who was bitter towards Hogan and others because of their success..
RIP to the late great Mean Gene Okerlund

Hi
Pp😮
The fact that barely anyone showed up to this guys funeral is a disgrace
Couldn't agree more. With everything he did for wrestling the least his "friends" could have done was show their respects
💯you'd think people would be pouring in their tributes to him left and right seeing the histories he's had with them.
Leads me to believe that he was an asshole behind the scenes... im not saying he was... just reminds me of what happens at the end of a crappy life.
Think Puff Daddy had he passed before the scandle.
Bet he makes up for that in fans visits to his grave.

There will never be another Mean Gene. Best in the business. RIP brother
Mean gene was the voice of my childhood. Nothing compares to 80s wrestling when you see mean gene doing an interview. R.I.P Gene
Without Jesse Ventura, Gene Okerlund wouldn't be "mean".
Greatest interview man ever...bar none!
Mean Gene Okerlund - GOAT. I think it is sometimes forgotten that Mean Gene helped play a big part in WWEs success in the 80sand early 90s. Shocking that only DDP turned up to his funeral.
This man was a national treasure.
The voice of my childhood
Oh man, that voice.

Jesse was very charismatic and entertaining . I enjoyed his wrestling, interviews, announcing and his show the Body Shoppe.

I worked at a store near where Gene lived before wrestling went huge. Very nice, quiet humble guy.
Pure class this man, not many left like him.
Mean Gene was the BEST ! RIP
Great interview... I do love that voice 🤠

Great content. Mean Gene and Jesse V 👌
Man, he had the most recognizable voice ever and did such a great job. Fines and suspensions for those that didn’t show up for his funeral.
Love jesse
Gene was so important to Pro Wrestling. People don’t even know…
Nice interview
The first time he met one of these Superstar Billy Grahams, brother.
Thanks
Love Jesse
Gene had a great voice, could easily see him host a game show, like Jeopardy.
Shocked that only one guys from the business showed up at his funeral. Not at all surprised that it was DDP.
I saw the pictures. There were others like the killer bees, Brian knobbs and Mike white. But yea gene loved Hogan , had him introduce his into to the hall of fame. Where was he
"You called the match. And that was it."
Thanks for the memories.
I doubt he will read this
@@tylermcnally8232 You doubt?, I am pretty sure he won't.

Jessy tells more story's than Walt Disney !
Gene had so much talent he would have been great announcing NFL or baseball
Haha the biel throw story was great. It's still called that today.
I admit I chuckled at 4:25
the goat nuff said
Only DDP went to his funeral. That IS absolutely fuc*ing disgraceful !

I always wanted to do radio but couldn't plus I Don't have the best voice
Those Midwest guys make good radio and tv commentators. The accent is as flat as the land. Except Minnesota of course. You betcha
Jesse was never a good in ring worker, but a superstar talker and personality
#RIPMeanGene
Jesse has no time to bleed 🩸 👋
Mean genes burgers in Tulare California. Ate there a few times, great burgers and milkshakes. I believe they are now closed. I believe Covid 19 wiped them out. Cool place!
"Mean, by God Gene"! 💯
God=Lord Jesus Christ condemns idolaters later that keep doing it and don't stop.
He once took a vacation to Grenada.
Let me tell you something Mean Gene. When you die I’m not going to your funeral.
I like he was with Gracie Slick
Is this Ron Jeremy's dad? Looks so much like him.
Yes mean gene jeremy.
Couldn't wrestle to save his add
Hello ilove you
Jessie Ventura looked great, but his wrestling was the shits.
Better than Chief Jay Strongbow.
Jesse IS a kook.
Jesse is jealous of Hogan.
Jesse is a freaking kook. 🤦♂️
Jesse as an entertainer and commentator was the best but Jesse as an individual is a narcissist…who was bitter towards Hogan and others because of their success..
No one likes Jesse.
Nobody likes you either Skippy.
