I really love the removable battery and waterproof rating, but the lights steal the show. Yeah, they look cool, but the extra visibility is an underrated safety feature.
I walk a pack daily for hours. I got the D4+. So far, so good. Hopefully, it can take a beating. It's not for speed in my case. It's for low-speed casual dog hiking so it had to have enough power to get me up those steep inclines on the bike trails. So far, I'm loving it. Hopefully no issues. Especially on the higher end scooters that should be able to handle the stress of the multiple loading dock jumps. Maybe just do a special series, specifically made to test the higher drops off of loading decks?
That's a good question. We haven't tested that one. My rule of thumb is that if it's not stated in the manual, then I usually go with the maximum that's stated on the side of the tires. If that feels too stiff, then I'll drop it 10% (i.e. from 50 psi to 45 psi. The minimum I would run on a 50psi-max tire is 40 psi). -Paul

The talk about 'being seen' only works if people pay attention on the road. My scooter is very visible at night (Mantis V2) and I still got hit. Always assume you are invisible to the world when riding and never even consider the idea that you are seen. It LOOKS cool, but for visibility, I'd prefer like... Apollo Pro levels of lighting. :P
some owners of this RX7 scooter had a problem with the lumilor lighting that has no impact resistance when hit by tiny objects when riding at high speed, which causes permanent damage.
Great question. I don't think we'll do a head to head video, but off the top of my head here are the major differences (I just spent 2 hours riding the Roadster on Tuesday so I'm fresh on them both). They have nearly identical tested weights, but the RX7 gets 32.7 pounds lighter when you take the battery out. We got 10 more miles of real world range from the Roadster (54 vs 44miles) but that makes sense because the Roadster has a bigger battery. (theoretically you could double the range of the RX7 with a second battery of course). The Roadster is a lot more expensive, of course at $5800 vs $4k. Performance wise they're both so ridiculously fast that it's hard to ask for more, but technically the Roadster has a higher top speed and is a bit quicker (than everything in the world) to 30mph. The RX7 has sine wave controllers and a smoother throttle. Portability wise they're both heavy, but the Roadster is extra tricky because it doesn't fold. You need tools to take the stem down. The RX7 again has the advantage because you can lift the battery and scooter separately. Both have huge comfy decks, but we stuck our own grip tape on the Roadster because ours didnt' come with anything grippy on it, but that may have changed. The Roadster comes with split rims and tubeless tires because the wheels have o-rings in the middle to seal them. The first couple batches of RX7's have split rims with tubes in the tires and the later ones will have tubeless tires with non-split rims. Both are really great scooters. If nothing else is pulling you in one direction or the other you could let the looks decide for you: all-business and carbon fiber, or high-tech and space age glow. There you go! Your own personal review! :-) -Paul
I have seen videos of people scooter going faster in mode 3 off of the ground. I am wondering if one of your motors and not working right? I have heard of people with a slower motor. I am wondering due to the range test too. It seems low for the battery and power compared to the inmotion rs.
The speed off the ground being lower is probably because we normalized the speedo by reducing the wheel size in the dash (if I remember correctly). the lower range is partly due to the PMT tires which run much lower pressure, but mainly the fact that the BMS cut off at 63V (12% remaining according to the BMS app). -Paul
San Francisco has the perfect weather to ride scooters all day. Its at least 90 degrees down here in miami everyday. Haven’t been riding my inmotion rs. Too scared it would overheat
Strangely almost none of the really big, expensive, scooters have apps: Rion, Weped, EMOVE Roadster, RoadRunner RX7, NAMI BURN-E (or any NAMI), Kaabo Wolf King GTR. Honestly, if it's a choice between having full control through the dash without an app, or full app control but not being able to hit all the functions through the dash, I'll take full control through the dash, though having full control both ways would be nice! -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I seriously can’t not keep my eyes on that scooter , its brakes are crazy! Only of each calliper was a 4 piston magura (I think that’s how you spell the brand name)

We keep them for a long time to use in other comparison videos, but eventually we need to start selling them. Locally only though. We're in the SF Bay Area. -Paul
This display is only temporary. The first 100 units or so will get this one and then also get a free updated display that will ship later. The later-production scooters will come with the final display installed. -Paul
We haven't got it yet :-O and I'm starting to worry. We've had one lined up a couple times before and it didn't come, but this source has been reliable in the past, so fingers crossed! -Paul

Ok so i dont understand the appeal of e-scooters to other PVs (im an urban dirt bike rider, i ride an ICE supermoto. I get people dont want to go through the whole licencing and insurance stuff so they go to PEVs). Out of curiousity, what brings you guys to the scooter form, as opposed to the pedal assist bikes, or the Surrons, or the EUCs? And do you guys prefer those e-scooters that have the bolt on seat or are you seatless and why? If I wasnt so happy with my supermoto and didnt already have all the licences and insurance and everything Id be considering something like this I just wouldnt know which kind of EV to go for
For many people portability is the main advantage of kick scooters, but that starts to fade a bit as you get into the 100lb and up scooters. They’re still pretty easy to load into an SUV solo though. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide ah gotcha the portability over other pevs makes sense i actually never considered that. You get similar power similar speeds and capabilities but in a much tighter and easier to pack up and toss in the back package. I mean you could throw one in a Honda Civic trunk that's a really good point.
I want a scooter for my girlfriend so she can keep up with me on my EUC. Her OneWheel is too slow, and she doesn’t like EUC’s. And a scooter can fit in the back of my car.
I was confused about the milage range is it true to the 70 mile claime range u stated something about the battery on urs is smaller then others ehy was tht
It's funny that even a year ago hill tests for scooters and e-bikes was so important. I almost don't even find them interesting any more because anything that costs more than 600 bucks will just rip up almost any hill. Maybe some single motor scooters will have issues with really challenging hills, but doing a hill test a monster like this seems almost like a waste of time. This isn't a criticism; just an observation.
I make the same observations in the video. The top speed run is basically a proxy for output power, but over time we’ll be moving to using 0 to 30 for that. The range test number is super important though, provided that the scooters are all tested on the same test course. -Paul
it's missing the extinguisher system TEEWING has and much more . The perfect breed would be Emove Roadster as design, Teewing fire system and Telever suspension in my opinion .
There is news coming regarding the luminescent panels. We learned that they're working on something right before publishing. It’s always tricky when we’re posting a video that’s going to live forever, to make sure our video is still accurate 6 months later. Ours didn’t have any rock chip problems. The only defect we had was caused by me stacking another scooter on top of it, but I didn’t think it was fair to call that out because all scooters get scratched if you stack another scooter on top. -Paul
Arai Corsair X. I started wearing Arai when I raced motorcycles and never stopped. I get double use out of them for my motorcycle freeway commute. -Paul
I definitely wouldn’t, myself. I’d recommend reaching out to the manufacturer about that one though! If you do, shoot video, because it would be awesome! -Paul
I'm working on a 3 scooter Dualtron review right now, but it's all of the smallest ones. More to come after that, but it may be a while. I'm not sure when they'll send us the bigger ones. -Paul
I haven’t. These tires aren’t the best for off-road, but the suspension is very good. I tend to like lighter scooters off-road in case I put it in a ditch, but until then it would be a good ride! -Paul
I have enough scooters, but the reviews on things never seen before on this channel keeps one up to speed (pun?) on state of the art. Just in case a replacement is needed.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I have the Apollo Phantom v3. I love it, but it never hurts to see the competition and what is new. Thanks for all the work you guys put into these tests. This channel helped me to decide on Apollo. Your work is very much appreciated.
That's a great question. Anything with split rims (like the early batches of the RX7) will be easier. Also there are a few out there with split (o-ring) rims and tubeless tires that would be easy. There are some great videos out there for easy ways to get the tires on and off the rims. But the really hard part can be getting the tires seated to the rim after install. You pretty much always need an air compressor to re-install tubeless tires (to get them seated on the bead). Other than that, it's a question of getting the wheels unmounted from the scooter and whether they have quick disconnects for the motor wires. Most new big scooters have quick disconnects now, so you aren't wrestling with the whole scooter being tethered to the wheel while removing the tire (or digging into the deck to unplug the motor wire). -Paul
I’ve done it before (Inokim OXO review), but it starts to feel more like a how to video. In this case, it would be misleading because this scooter (all of the first 50 or 100) have split rims, so the experience would be very different from a tire change on the production units. -Paul
I haven’t heard. It could be they are doing some extra quality control before they go out. I’m surprised they haven’t announced what’s going on somewhere. -Paul
We like the RX7! Very solid scooter. Check the link in description for latest pricing and use code RG50 for max discount. Prices on tariffs going up on 8/15 so if you want grab it now before prices go up across the board.
The Roadrunner did 0 to 40 in 5.6 seconds to the Nami’s 5.7 The numbers I can grab quickly only go up to 40mph. After that I have to dig into raw data. -Paul
Roadrunner makes some smaller models, but I’m not sure if they have seats yet. Probably not because it would get in the way of the removable battery and all of their scooters have removable batteries. -Paul
Aint no way! Who needs to do interstate speeds on what is basically a longboard with handlebars? I have the D4 2.0. It will do 40 and I never have the need to go that fast. I usually run at 25-30. I cant imagine having to go any faster than that on an electric scooter
Top speed is just the easiest way to reliably measure the sustained output power the scooter is capable of in an easy to understand way. Hill climb times would also work, but require so much more context to know what a good hill climb time is. I agree though, I almost never ride above 40mph on any scooter. But it's fun being able to answer the question: "how fast does it go?" with a really big number. :-) -Paul
Unfortunately a seat on this one would block the removable battery from coming out. But you’re right, range would go up because of the lower wind resistance! -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide You can mount the seat on the angled piece by drilling the holes and with m6 BOLTS and nuts . I did so on Joyor. You will get plenty of room for your hands that way and pretty comfortable and stable position
Everything gets scary once you start getting past 60 Km/hr, I don't care who you are. I've never gone faster than that on my M11 and I don't feel comfortable wanting to go faster than that, especially given it is also illegal here.

:-) -Paul
A refreshment that the Speedo isint generous 😂
I adjusted it, but the ones from the factory should be pre-tuned now. -Paul
-Paul
I ran the scooter with two different sets of controllers. Same top speeds. I think the motors are fine
Ok, thank you for the reply. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for the full review. Very helpful. What do you feel about the durability of the scooter including the lumilor?
Seems well made for sure!
I got my RX5 + up to 49MPH MAX. I can just imagine what 66 was like 😳
That’s pretty fast!
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I would add that I am 242lbs. If I weighed a little less, could have hit 50mph 🙄
Hi how thick are the tires if the scooter hits a pot hole on the road or a thicker edged sidewalk will the scooter flip over
It depends! Stay alert and avoid potholes
San Francisco has the perfect weather to ride scooters all day. Its at least 90 degrees down here in miami everyday. Haven’t been riding my inmotion rs. Too scared it would overheat
True. We think 75 is a super hot day here. -Paul
How about Bluetooth and app controll?
Strangely almost none of the really big, expensive, scooters have apps:
Rion, Weped, EMOVE Roadster, RoadRunner RX7, NAMI BURN-E (or any NAMI), Kaabo Wolf King GTR.
Honestly, if it's a choice between having full control through the dash without an app, or full app control but not being able to hit all the functions through the dash, I'll take full control through the dash, though having full control both ways would be nice!
-Paul
You guys got any teverun on the way? I just got a blade gt 2 and it's pretty sweet
We have one in the schedule in the next month or two, but the scooter isn’t here yet. Fingers crossed that we get it. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide you guys have an imposter telling people they won a giveaway
How does the ride quality and smoothness compare to the Apollo pro?
Both are rock solid to be honest! Can’t go wrong with either.
Is it better than the segway GT2 for overall day to day use???😊
RX7 for the win! Check link in description for latest pricing and coupon code
Paul, do you have any more details you can share regarding the luminor paint issue? Specifically when and what with will it be replaced?
I don't at the moment. -Paul
Im wondering when are we getting the other display for the Rx7
Me too! I was hoping to have it in time for the review, but I think it was delayed by some last minute improvements. -Paul
You guys NEED to review the Langfeite GT2 RS. You’ve ought to.
They should reach out to us. I've heard of their brand but not that particular scooter. I'll look it up. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I seriously can’t not keep my eyes on that scooter , its brakes are crazy! Only of each calliper was a 4 piston magura (I think that’s how you spell the brand name)
@EIectricScooterGuide what do you mean???
Are the plugs to the cables fixed to seen a video of someone’s rx7 beat up he claims its just a poor make on roadrunners behalf, says the rx7 just pretty much started falling apart after about 2 months or so I believe but I’d like to get a clear answer on this asap please
We do not have issues with ours! Every batch gets better and better when any product.
What do you do with all the scooters you have?
We keep them for a long time to use in other comparison videos, but eventually we need to start selling them. Locally only though. We're in the SF Bay Area. -Paul
What's your opinion of this versus the Apollo Pro?
Both are very solid options to be honest. RX7 is faster and has bigger battery. Pro has a dedicated regen brake and lighter.
Reminds me of my 11x. Except I added the maguras as well as some other goodies. This is a good buy
It looks similar to the Kukirin g3 Pro electric scooter. Mainly the steering wheel and the display.
This display is only temporary. The first 100 units or so will get this one and then also get a free updated display that will ship later. The later-production scooters will come with the final display installed. -Paul
Can't wait for the teverun Fighter Supreme Ultra video coming out soon hopefully 👀 have you guys received the scooter yet?
We haven't got it yet :-O and I'm starting to worry. We've had one lined up a couple times before and it didn't come, but this source has been reliable in the past, so fingers crossed! -Paul
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide maybe they're making sure you guys get the latest version of the ultra 👀 gonna wait to buy it until I sell my wolf king gt pro or you guys make a video on it, whichever comes first!
hey, what app do you guys use to get acceleration times?
Draggy
What about add all the black dots that will eventually appear on the luminescent paint?
Not sure about that one! We have not had any issues with our review unit.
This and Apollo scooter. I’m thinking of one of these two. Please help
Both are both solid options!
If you wanna go fast get the rx7. If you wanna go 30-40 mph get an Apollo
How is the Torque compared to the Inmotion Rs and Nami Burn E Max 2/3 Paul.
About the same
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide ty for answering
I was confused about the milage range is it true to the 70 mile claime range u stated something about the battery on urs is smaller then others ehy was tht
Real world range depends on riders weight and driving conditions.
Nice review 👌🏽 good looking scooter
Thank you so much! -Paul
Yo Paul can u review the solar hyperion plz... seen no reviews yet.. thank u...AJ from bracknell..uk
It’s coming, as soon as I can get my hands on it! -Paul
Good video brother. The only thing is you can fold these and put them in a sedan so they are very portable. Just a little heavy.
But you have to fold the seats down right? -Paul
I couldn’t get it into my trunk without setting it on the lip and risking scratching the bumper. -Paul
Can you tell which dualtron models you guys are reviewing?
Stay tuned! Some are coming.
-Paul
Can you guys get your hands on a Solar Hyperion, desperate to see a real world review on one!
Yes that should be very soon!
Wow, you need a full motorcycle leather suit with air vest for that bike. :)
I’m lucky I have three freeway capable riding suits on hand from three decades of riding motorcycles daily -Paul
it's missing the extinguisher system TEEWING has and much more . The perfect breed would be Emove Roadster as design, Teewing fire system and Telever suspension in my opinion .
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm surprised that the issue about the electroluminescence paint having dark/black spots when hit by debris wasn't addressed in the video.
-Paul
What helmet do you use?
Arai Corsair X. I started wearing Arai when I raced motorcycles and never stopped. I get double use out of them for my motorcycle freeway commute. -Paul
Can you review the solar hyperion scooter
YES! As soon as we can get our hands on it! -Paul
another great review, thanks Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it
looks pretty solid, and stable, even at the higher speeds. very nice.
Can you compare this scooter to the wolf king gtr and the new Nan robot scooters please and other scooters in this category? Thank you so much!
Interesting idea!!
I look forward to seeing where this electric scooter industry goes!
We do too!
Very good review. Im definitely still interested in one but now im also interested in getting an E bike lol
Ha ha! Nice! Your RS is still fairly new isn't it? :-)
-Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide yep.
Wow. I must have one. These 8 miles a day in power walking are catching up on top of boxing training lol
Can it drive on snow?
I definitely wouldn’t, myself. I’d recommend reaching out to the manufacturer about that one though! If you do, shoot video, because it would be awesome! -Paul
Inmotion RS or the RoadRunner RX7? I can't decide
Both are solid! RX7 has more features
Great review on a great hyper scooter Paul!
Thank you so much! -Paul
When are the dualtron review coming?😁
I'm working on a 3 scooter Dualtron review right now, but it's all of the smallest ones. More to come after that, but it may be a while. I'm not sure when they'll send us the bigger ones. -Paul

I knew this scooter run on road but, I wonder how smooth it run on off road. Have you try run on off road?
I haven’t. These tires aren’t the best for off-road, but the suspension is very good. I tend to like lighter scooters off-road in case I put it in a ditch, but until then it would be a good ride! -Paul
Congratulations on your Giant cajones!
Ha ha! Thanks! -Paul
I’ll keep my Klima, thanks.
Great ride! -Paul
I have enough scooters, but the reviews on things never seen before on this channel keeps one up to speed (pun?) on state of the art. Just in case a replacement is needed.
What's your main ride now? Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate your support! -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I have the Apollo Phantom v3. I love it, but it never hurts to see the competition and what is new. Thanks for all the work you guys put into these tests. This channel helped me to decide on Apollo. Your work is very much appreciated.
Thanks for watching and for your support! -Paul
ride safe y’all! always wear a helmet and practice safe riding practices
Can they make it Smaller?
They make smaller scooters, but they don't have the luminescent lights or quite this much power. -Paul
Out of all the super scooters, which model of scooter has the easiest to change a tire?
-Paul
hit 65 mph on my wolf gt figured they push more on this
All my friends have scooters snd ride together and here i am not even able to afford a budget one😢
Maybe one of them will upgrade and sell you their old one! -Paul
Performance is one thing, show a tire change when reviewing new scooters.
I’ve done it before (Inokim OXO review), but it starts to feel more like a how to video. In this case, it would be misleading because this scooter (all of the first 50 or 100) have split rims, so the experience would be very different from a tire change on the production units. -Paul
How is it Off Road?
Very good
Love it
Thank you for your support! -Paul
Hey what goin with the rx7 they r holding the scooter longer then expected roadrunner hasn’t been any help with what’s goin on either
I haven’t heard. It could be they are doing some extra quality control before they go out. I’m surprised they haven’t announced what’s going on somewhere. -Paul
The shipping is 1k for me in Australia damn 😅
That’s quite a bit!
Cracks me up that everyone uses the term "Floor it" for scooters. We all know that floor it is car reference and scooters don't get floored.
Ha ha! Finger it just doesn’t seem right (or thumb it). -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide We should definitely think of another term . Full squeeze, all the beans is good maybe all the finger ?
@@ianreed4636 Just say "squeeze it". Or more generally whether for cars or scooters "punch it"
oooh, full squeeze! I like that. -Paul
This is already for sale damnnn !!!
It's not for me, but I wish it was! 🎉
Dt3 or rx7?
We like the RX7! Very solid scooter. Check the link in description for latest pricing and use code RG50 for max discount. Prices on tariffs going up on 8/15 so if you want grab it now before prices go up across the board.
Nami has faster acceleration? interesting to see a 0-50 between the two.
The Roadrunner did 0 to 40 in 5.6 seconds to the Nami’s 5.7
The numbers I can grab quickly only go up to 40mph. After that I have to dig into raw data. -Paul
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thank you for getting back to me! Appreciate all the work you guys do
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words! -Paul
Looks cobbled together. Why does it need a steering damper? My GT2 doesn't.
Most high speed scooters need a dampener! GT2 is not close to as fast as this
6:50 INTRUSIVE URGES TAKE OVER! 😅
ha ha! -Paul
@6:48 click the thumbs up if you're launching yourself over that ramp.
👀
9:50 JOY!
👀
No rotary though 😢
Oh man, I miss my rotary! Even at high rpm it was so smooth! -Paul
@EIectricScooterGuide what do I win? ;)
I really want this scooter, but range is so important to me. The Nami dusts this scooter when it comes to range. 😢
It’s the same battery size, and the same performance. I feel like I need to re-test the NAMI. -Paul
We are approaching the scooter society dead man’s curve.
👀
Can't wait for a smaller hilly seated model
Roadrunner makes some smaller models, but I’m not sure if they have seats yet. Probably not because it would get in the way of the removable battery and all of their scooters have removable batteries. -Paul
Still waiting for nami blast review
Me too! We still haven’t got our hands on one. I’m not sure why.
:-) -Paul
Get a seat, there is no point standing, siting also reduces air resistance
Unfortunately a seat on this one would block the removable battery from coming out. But you’re right, range would go up because of the lower wind resistance! -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide You can mount the seat on the angled piece by drilling the holes and with m6 BOLTS and nuts . I did so on Joyor. You will get plenty of room for your hands that way and pretty comfortable and stable position
There's only one RX-7 that matters and that's the rotary engine wonder by Mazda.
I had one of those too and loved it. 1989 RX7 GTUs (they only made about 1200 of this ultra-light version). -Paul
Everything gets scary once you start getting past 60 Km/hr, I don't care who you are. I've never gone faster than that on my M11 and I don't feel comfortable wanting to go faster than that, especially given it is also illegal here.
Illegal here as well, but unenforced. I agree about anything above 60km/h being scary on any scooter. -Paul
It should have proper turn signals 😢
