But the world still thinks Malaysia is a racist country. But reality is that there are no riots or fights between races because we have learned from past experience when there was a clash between political parties based on race in 1969. Since then we have lived in harmony because in the work sector we need each other. Second, there is no country outside of China where the Chinese minority has a vernacular Chinese language school and India also has a Mandarin University that also receives government funding. What many people do not know is that the preference of the Malays in becoming Menteri Besar (head of state government) only applies to states led by Sultans but not to states that do not have Sultans such as Penang, Melaka, Sabah and Sarawak. Every citizen is entitled to free medical care at government clinics, free schools and even special loans for higher education. Some say Malays have advantages such as housing discount quota but NOT all Malays get that privilege because the quota is small. Same to qouta in college and university. In addition, although the official religion of Malaysia is Islam, and the Malay language is the official language, the languages, cultures and religions of other races are freely practiced and guaranteed in the constitution. Meaning, you lose some but win some. It is only because some states in the north and east coast are controlled by the opposition that the issue of racism is always raised and do you know that states that are fanatical about issues of race and religion are backward states in Malaysia such as Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. It's even funnier when they fail to develop their state, most of their citizens migrate to find jobs in more developed states that are pro-government. The difference between Canai bread and Prata in India is that Prata bread flour mixture is made with ghee or sesame oil while Canai roti is mixed with magerine. It is said that when traders from India settled in Malaysia (Malay Panisula) they did not find ghee and sesame here but local people used more margarine brought by European traders. So the recipe using magerine remains and becomes a special Malaysian recipe.

I can say this year batu caves looked better in 2023 compared to 2022 when it was so dirty. I think because after covid19, no workers were available to clean it up. They depend too much on foreign workers.
Please note that that Hindu holy site is not quite a tourist area. It's a site of a Hindu temple and shrine. They just open it to anybody who is interested to visit for free and it attracts more than 5000 tourists per day. Don't expect too much.. but then, they say cleanliness is half of faith and next to godliness. Just hope that the management can cope.
