Doing sloppy research in this field plays into the hands of the people who want to deny, cover up and gloss over these things altogether. Unfortunately the field is also riddled with records that are more speculative and sensational, and sometimes it's not easy to know what's what. It's illustrated in this presentation with the question about IBM. Maybe people like Edwin Black or Daniel Goldhagen have good intentions, but their sub-par reseqarch may even be damaging to the whole field in a very unfortunate way.
Peter Hayes has spent his adult life studying this period. It is an uncalled for insult to suggest that he is a scholarly sell out without any factual evidence other than you think so. How many minutes have you spent doing serious research on the issue?
