Peter Hayes, award winning author, Northwestern University Professor of History and German and from 2000 to 2016 Theodore Zev Weiss Holocaust Educational Foundation Professor at Northwestern University, who spent his career teaching students about the Holocaust, offers his explanation of why the Holocaust occurred, describe its horrors, and warn “what happened in the past has implications for the future.”
