I have ADHD.... both of my kids have ADHD.... their dad who doesn't have it says he feels like he's living in a circus 😂 Love your comedy!!!! This segment was beyond hilarious
There's a strong hereditary component to it. A child has ADHD, often their siblings do to and at least one of the parents has obvious ADHD-like symptoms.
@@tiagomoraes1510 It's scientifically supported that there is a genetic component to ADHD. But we have to be clear on our defenition here. If by ADHD you mean the diagnosis and the problems deriving from your brain working differently, then I agree, that's not genetic. However, the predisposition for getting those problems does have a significant genetic component. I personally see ADHD not as the problems that arise from it, but the way your brain works differently. So you can still have ADHD, even if you never run into any problems with it and therefore never get a diagnosis. I base this on the fact that these people still are on the same level as anyone that is diagnosed with ADHD, and their brains process information in the same non neurotypical way. I also don't see it as a disorder.
This was absolutely hysterical. Some of the best crowd work I've seen on UA-cam. The way you juggled multiple tangents and engaged with several crowd members at once was amazing. I have to say there was an unexpectedly high representation of the succulent enthusiast community here.
I like how it goes from ADHD, to succulent hoarding, to "what are succulents anyways", to how you can kill them, and then back around to ADHD. We love a complete circle here.

Our friend group consists of me, my two sisters, my friend, and my roommate's fiance are all ADHD, and my roommate has ASD. They often say listening to us all interact is like Sims on a sugar rush. But I'm convinced that ADHDers just emit some kind of brain signal that attracts other ADHDers
This is what playing with my D&D group is because all of us are non - neurotypical in some way so at least one of us will stop in the middle of a session to infodump
I love seeing these clips! you're the only comedian I know of, granted it is not many, that enteracts with his audience on as deep of a level as you do you treat these people like people and I love that about you I also love how quick those jokes to the audience came to you too! shows your talent been here since agt and don't plan on leaving keep up the great work, drew! remember to take care of yourself
So we have learned today.. That if you suffer from ADHD and have trouble starting a conversation.. Just bring up that you have succulents in your basement... Should work well provided you aren't talking to a police officer at the time you bring it up.
Can confirm, this is how ADHD works This is the conversation I have at light speed in my head to get from point A to point B, but the person I'm talking to was not involved in the process whatsoever so they stare at me like "where did this come from" and I have to explain how my brain made the jump
My favorite way of describing it has to be that we used the same equation, but I threw a squiggly line in there and came to an entirely different conclusion
What’s great is how funny he finds himself. It makes it so much more enjoyable. “Hey Babe, the basement has succulents.” I’m DEAD! I felt called out when drew said “they don’t even wait until I’m done with my sentence”. That is the one aspect of my adhd that I am actively trying to change. I always feel bad when I interrupt my friends and family even though I’m not doing it intentionally, it just happens. Queer little cactus!!! 🌵 also yeah, I hate it when I interrupt people who get upset by it. I don’t mean anything bad, and I put in a lot of effort not to.
Ohhh sameeee. I've gotten over it by making sure i loop back to their point and making a point to go "but anyway, you were talking about [their last sentence]...?" It helps let them know you were listening and not just talking over them
When multiple crowd members shouted "yes you can" it broke me up.

I just scrolled so much and am amazed this is the first reference I have seen to that joke, It had me on the floor
You know you're at a good comedy show when the neurodivergents in the crowd start heckling each other instead of the comic 😂
ALSO THE INFODUMP I LOVE IT SO MUCH 😂
Oh God yes! Have an ADHD kiddo and non ADHD person like working with because 75-80% of our non-costumer headset conversations is just heckling the ever-loving *feck* out of each other. Our poor GM worries about us occasionally til she remembers we're all neurodivergent to some degree.
He ASKED for the infodump.
And he set up the heckling. XD
@@that_dam_baka His mistake... Never ask for the info dump. XD
LMFAO
@@Giganfan2k1 oh see I don't care if someone asks for it. It's lika a little present I'll force on you
I have ADHD.... both of my kids have ADHD.... their dad who doesn't have it says he feels like he's living in a circus 😂
Love your comedy!!!!
Happy to see you thriving Drew! Speech is doing great, health is great, comedy is great, life is great. Keep it up!
how can be a conversation about cactus be this hilarious. im dying of laughing wth
As someone with ADHD, who seems destined to date or partner with only others with ADHD, I am INCREDIBLY interested in this!😆👍
Organized chaos is what I like to call it 😌
This was absolutely hysterical.
Can confirm ADHD people are incapable of shutting the hell up
This is what one of my professors is like. His classes go on for three hours
Especially if you are trying to get a word in edgewise.
@@daynamorris2399I think that is a common teacher/professor trait, ADHD or not.
I have ADHD and this video was a perfect description! 😂😂
When I was in middle school and my mom would tell people about my ADHD she would say “no she didn’t lose her train of thought, it just has 27 stops and goes in 6 different directions” 😂😭😁🥳🤣
As a person with ADHD I can’t tell you that we are the most chaotic people and it’s honestly really fun even though we don’t mean to be all over the place
Drew's new safe phrase with his fiancé -
"hey babe, the succulents are in the basement"
Drew's fiancé -
"Anything is a dildo if you're brave enough babe"
2:53 never in my life have I been called out like this 🤣
Also yes, "they've got all this medicinal properties to them but really idgaf they just look cool" is peak
Everytime youre in Indy. i make a way to come watch you. Literally one of my top 5 comedians easily. thanks for the laughs.
Thank you for coming out to all the shows!
I love this so much! The info dumping and the conversation and it's funny. There was some where a guy who laughed almost all the time. My own ADHD brain went brrrrrrrrrr
I must say it is so AWESOME to hear him up there WITHOUT stuttering. His speech therapy has been working phenomenally
Your friend group has 3 family members in it and you guys are how many exactly?
I love seeing these clips!
you're the only comedian I know of, granted it is not many, that enteracts with his audience on as deep of a level as you do
you treat these people like people and I love that about you
I also love how quick those jokes to the audience came to you too! shows your talent
been here since agt and don't plan on leaving
keep up the great work, drew! remember to take care of yourself
“Hang on, let me confirm.” He’s brilliant and witty and I really hope his career goes where he wants because he deserves it.
2:19
"You can't kill them."
*"YES YOU CAN"*
You are the master of crowd work
"She has succulents on her shirt? She's got some succulents under the shirt too my guy"
ya killin me drew lol - such great improv
So we have learned today.. That if you suffer from ADHD and have trouble starting a conversation.. Just bring up that you have succulents in your basement...
Should work well provided you aren't talking to a police officer at the time you bring it up.
🤣🤣
Depends on what state your in lol.
@@FukaiKokoro This is true.
“There’s no way they(cactus’) can try to kill us, ⟟ mean not actively. Like it’s not like they’re moving”
“Jumping cactus is ⏃ thing”
Can confirm, this is how ADHD works
This is the conversation I have at light speed in my head to get from point A to point B, but the person I'm talking to was not involved in the process whatsoever so they stare at me like "where did this come from" and I have to explain how my brain made the jump
I'm not ADHD, but I do the same thing! I will say some random shit, and the people I'm talking to look at me like I completely lost it. Lol!
This is a typical conversation with my wife. A + B = J? What? How did you get from here to there? I'm lost.
My favorite way of describing it has to be that we used the same equation, but I threw a squiggly line in there and came to an entirely different conclusion
What’s great is how funny he finds himself. It makes it so much more enjoyable.
“Hey Babe, the basement has succulents.”
I’m DEAD!
I also love how the audience shouted, “Yeah, you can!”
“Those are succulents underneath too, my guy.” Hahahahahaha!! Oh my GOSH!
It feels great when the audience is so involved with the comedian. It makes it feel more authentic and funny in my eyes!
I don't know why this was so funny but i was dying the whole clip
You lost the succulent shirt lady for a second, and pulled her right back in with the round up joke! So cool to see her expression change!
This is very funny 🤣 as someone who has ADHD it was nice to see the comedian going with the flow of a conversation going off the rails 😂❤️
Holy Christ this shit is funny as fuck! "Is this a convention?" 😂🤣😂🤣
Great episode of This Week at the Succulents Anonymous meeting...
Dude... I am in awe of how your speech therapy has worked on you. you are a beacon of light, an inspiration, and i am so proud that you have accomplished such a difficult task, as was regaining control over your speech. keep up the good work!!
I rewinded three times for that “yeah you can” 😆 that was perfect
Also I think I have undiagnosed adhd cause I would have talked to that lady for hours about cactus & gardening 😆
I love you so much but that “this bitch” idk I didn’t like that.. but you’re still one of my favorites
Broooo I watched the whole thing and it wasn't until the end that I noticed....You didn't stutter at all! Your speech therapy journey has been awesome to watch. And great crowd work as always! Can't wait to see you live some day.
Never saw your comedy before but the crowd work is hilarious! Can't believe you got 9 minutes of laughs out of "succulents in my basement"
I’ve been watching you forever man and I just wanted to say I was so surprised with this video because you’ve come a long way with your speech therapy and im so happy I was apart of the journey! Good shit man
It’s pretty amazing how effortlessly he interacts with his crowd and gets them involved. It’s one thing to be a comedian and tell jokes on stage, but it’s another thing to get your audience involved and genuinely be funny, on the spot. He’s a very talented comedian.
Glad this man is back with some FIRE content
I’ve been going through your crowd work videos and it’s incredible how many balls you can juggle with full engagement and keeping your wit on point. Well done man. You’re going to end up remembered as one of the greats if you keep this up
It’s crazy how much better your stutter has gotten. I remember watching you on americas got talent and then watching your videos with Stella
Thank fuck YT recommended you Drew, I’ve been having a shit week lately
I hope your weekend is better!
I am a teacher with ADHD. This is what my classroom is like for 6 hrs! One minute we’re on topic, next minute I’m getting questions about the most random things and the convo keeps going.
when the succulent person said "the snake plant creates oxygen which not many plants do" I lost it......LOL okay lady look up your knowledge again plz
Come correct or get corrected, what we always say
They said create oxygen "right away", yes plants make oxygen but it takes time.
'the snake plant is best known for producing the highest amount of oxygen among houseplants'
It produces a lot of oxygen very quickly, a NASA clean air study found that if you were locked in a sealed room 6-8 snake plant could replenish all the oxygen you need
Also, it can also produce oxygen at night, which not many plants can do
Please look up your knowledge
@rapheALtoid ah sorry I must have miss heard thanks for the correction
Though the snake plant is still interesting and somehow my accidental miss hearing lead me to some neat facts
So accurate. I have ADHD you start one place, your train of thought goes around the world four and a half times and you spit out whatever it lands on. And everyone around you is like "um... where in the world did you pull that from" and then you have to try and backtrack and get side tracked. And here we are. 🤣
I’m so impressed by your recovery progress. You have worked so hard to overcome your injury and you’ve come so far. Keep it up you inspire others with brain injuries.
I really appreciate the engaging. That's some talent. So many comedians are thrown off by comments and then can be kind of rude.
"The Basement Has Succulents" would be a cool name for a comedy special.
Just went back to AGT and then came here. Drew, you have come so far and you have every reason to be proud. I know I’m so impressed by your talent, kindness and love of life. You have overcome so much and I look up to you on so many levels. Thank you for bringing light and joy to standup.
Lmao! I love when comedians are just naturally funny. Plenty of comedians can write good jokes but the ones that are naturally funny are my favorite. Keep it up! I love watching your videos, even if they are made at an ADHD convention. 😂
I swear, you can do an entire stand up by just interacting with and riffing off the crowd. You’re easily becoming my favorite comedians, never change Drew.
This is why I love you Drew you can talk about anything and make it funny! One of the BEST comedians there is. I have loved you from the moment you auditioned on AGT. God bless you in everything you do!!
It took me until half way to realize he wasn’t stuttering so much and I’m so happy for him! You do Drew!!!
Haha these people are hilarious! I like how you go along with it and make jokes! 😂😂😂
growing up with a mom and brother with ADHD changes how you interact with people so much, I just noticed after I went to live alone. The THINGS you learn to interpret, like holy shit, one of them will sing song something and your brain will know the exact second the totally different song they mean, im always automatically ready to find lost cellphones at least 5 times a day, and I think it made me unable to have a normal conversation forever
I love them
As someone with ADHD, the talking into the mouth joke is too relatable -and something I’ve been working on- lmaoo
And yes, I’ve killed some plants too. Out of sight, out of mind 😔
4:19 "rocks" Lmao that killed me.
when u see him giggling to himself w what he just said u know he recognizes how good he is 😂😂
This made me laugh so hard, especially because I was just feeling down about accidentally killing my succulent that all my friends assured me was unkillable. At least I'm not the only one. XD
I'm pissing myself from laughter!! I'd love to come to a show one day, sadly the US is a long way from Itlay
I think Drew has a sweet gig. Besides telling jokes I think people are throwing stuff at him "phrase wise" at shows to distract him because they just wanna talk to him. Legit it's half jokes, with improv and time for sharing from the audience. Love this for ya Drew
This guy managed to have a 10 minute long conversation about a flower and made it hilarious af! 😂
These are all so great. He's basically moderating the comedians in the audience. Brilliant!
Not in a million years could you have guessed a set would go this way! ahahahahahah I laughed out loud so hard so many times!! I needed this ahahaha like, what in the hell?!?!?!
watching drew's stand up makes me realize just how important a crowd can be. it's free material everytime lol
but depends on the crowd and also helps if you're a master at crowd interaction/control like drewski is
the crowd, speaking from experience: "Yes, you very much can kill succulents!"
LMAO
I absolutely love when stand up brings everyone together in the best way possible
"they produce oxygen, which most plants don't"
I was waiting for drew to roast her for that hahaha
I love how you get so much enjoyment from the crazy and always surprising conversations with your crowd!!
"The succulents are in the basement" sounds like a wake up phrase for a spy
Watched drew for years. Guy's always been funny, so I clicked expecting good laughs. It wasn't until I was more than half in, laughing more than I expected, that I realized I'd forgotten the stutter entirely. I have ADHD and this was so enjoyable!! Congrats on your work with the crowd, Drew and on all your success!
Was wrapping my Friday, went across the street to the brew pub with work folks for a pint, walked back to finish a project and watched this... I. Was. Howling with laughter. This section is soooo great and emblematic of why you're so good. Watched it three times in a row.. I can't wait for the world to find you. As always, thank you.
I just got done watching a comp of his AGT performances and his stutter has improved massively. He's said full sentences without stuttering and it kinda threw me for a loop when I first realized it.
Amazing to hear how much therapy and Time has healed Drew. Must've been hard work and I'm very impressed his stand up didn't get hurt in transition.
“Why that many papa!?” I’m dead
Love your work! 💜
This had me crying laughing. So happy to see how far you’ve come with your comedy!! Absolutely loved this whole moment 😂
4:53 I was waiting for someone to yell "THEY CAN!" Drew look up jumping cacti
I felt called out when drew said “they don’t even wait until I’m done with my sentence”. That is the one aspect of my adhd that I am actively trying to change. I always feel bad when I interrupt my friends and family even though I’m not doing it intentionally, it just happens. Most of the time, the people I interrupt aren’t bothered by it, but I still feel bad because it is rude. 😅
I'm pretty certain I have ASD and I do that too. Especially great when you're doing it to teachers /s
Oh boy im back into the rabbit hole of obsessing over disorders this time ADHD
Queer little cactus!!! 🌵 also yeah, I hate it when I interrupt people who get upset by it. I don’t mean anything bad, and I put in a lot of effort not to.
Ohhh sameeee. I've gotten over it by making sure i loop back to their point and making a point to go "but anyway, you were talking about [their last sentence]...?" It helps let them know you were listening and not just talking over them
@@cttrajanundertalenerd5187 That's assuming I can remember what they were talking about. Usually I can't! :(
