I live for charts and detail, so this games is perfect for me. Like most players will tell you, once you run a few missions, the flow becomes pretty methodical without needing a flow chart. Great videos Gimpy!!
Hey, GG! The Zone Worksheets are very useful for session reports afterwards, and laminating 2 front & back sheets of 3 works well. I wrote a narrative after each mission & shared them with my gaming buddy, and she really enjoyed them. The crew data (names & dispositions such as wounds & kills) was kept on a spreadsheet. I bought the game from Legion on the initial offering, and had a blast. I made Stuka J-like flipbooks for it, and that made it pretty easy to play. I stopped when the game revisions became too numerous. I'm going back to it now (Dec '19), and will rework the flipbooks with the revised rules. Very enjoyable game, and I'll resume the original campaign & narratives.
Great play through review …I hear what you say about charts and booklets but since I printed off the updated rules ( some parts have been colourised as well ) I bound them with a plastic comb binding …the books now sit flat and are much easier to use. All the booklets etc on the designers website plus that play aide from BGG should be printed in future editions it’s awesome and makes it so much easier, The narrative potential for this game is brilliant and if you want to play a 30 mission campaign crew will come and go …as will the odd plane lol…but the story telling can be semi-historical …this game system reminds me very much of an old role playing game called Rollmaster ( Rolemaster ?) from Iron Crown Enterprises ( a name from a very distant past) …in that RPG there was a table to roll on for everything !!! You need to change out your dice lol…
The Hungarian Puma ME-109 variant on BBG is just as brutal as the Abbeville Boys. They shot me up a lot, walking hits will kill or injure a crewmember everytime.
I'd like to suggest something if I may, the order that you roll the dice and check the modifiers... I prefer to write down in a separate notebook all my "moves" or "rolls" or "steps" taken so if any doubt arises I can simply go back and check on what went wrong. For example, I must roll 1D6 and I get a 5. I write down "5", then I check the DMs which applies. I keep writing them one by one then I would get something like 5-1-1+3 final result being 6. Only then I would check the table and see the result. Anyway great video I have decided to own this game one day once this Corona era is over...
you do use the same few table very frequently, the other table are really just more for flavor and/optional, it really is pretty much the same as B17 QotS.
I've never had to use the flow chart from BGG. I did however download the revised tables file ( think that is what its called). It puts all the tables, minus bomber damage tables, it puts all the tables in the order you use them. There is a lot less flipping back and forth with this file.
How about focusing on the topic instead of indulging in digression one time after the other? Also, do we really need all the intel on family and friends? And finally, some rehearsal should eliminate most of the “err” and other instances of confusion à la “I am just discovering the whole thing”.In any case, here are examples of videos straight to the point, obviously prepared and rehearsed, and devoid of any off-topic stuff: ndfront.epizy.com/?i=1 (I know, it is in French, but also without understanding the language, the above-mentioned is blatant).
So sorry that the brain injury I suffered that causes me to lose my train of thought sometimes causes you so much distress. I figure that since at one point I could not speak or walk at all that I was doing pretty well, but evidently you disagree. As a FYI I do rehearse and even take notes for some, but no amount of rehearsal can help with the seizures that cause me to lose track and say "err" thanks to the landmine that crushed my spine/damaged my brain. I didnt realize that watching French videos can cure brain trauma, but hell at this point I'm willing to give anything a shot.
Great video. Entertaining. Very helpful re: understanding how this game plays. Thanks.

but I agree the game is almost unplayable without that aid you downloaded from BGG

Where is the flow chart, you said to fast. How about a LINK???
What did you use to cut your chits?
This one was a while ago, but anytime I had to cut out chits I would always use a exacto
