I live in Springfield, Gypsys house was minutes from our house. There is so much to unpack with this case that can't be portrayed in a movie, youtube, video ect. Understandably when this happened a lot of people here followed the case very closely and dug into everything they possibly could to be able to come to as much of an informed opinion as possible.
But the truth is Gypsy obviously has a lot of mental setbacks due to her abuse and being kept away from normal life for her entire childhood and watching the things I've seen since she was released I believe she is ripe to be abused and taken advantage of again, I hope I am wrong but the things shes posted and some things shes said show she is still not in a "right" frame of mind. She needs help not a movie deal.

I believe she’s had a lot of therapy and online education in jail, but you’re not wrong, she needs healthy support and the View people are not it. Honestly, if anyone reading this runs into her, invite her into a real Christian community, pray for her, befriend her. She has never had a “normal” life, but that doesn’t mean she can’t heal and break free from the past.

And remember. Right now this is how she is supporting herself. That said people would probably donate to a GiveSendGo without even needing her to tell her story, but part of her moving forward might be telling her story.

She is definitely at risk of being abused and used again. Apparently she has already gotten offers from people wanting her to make phorn. with her developmental disabilities and trauma I don't think anything good will come from all the fame. emotionally intelligent people have a hard time navigating celebrity status. She is going to need good people around her to get through this. I pray she comes to Christ.

She refused a bunch of free, expensive professional help. Getting the 411 on life from a bunch of jail inmates isn't the same as professional help. And from the footage I've seen, I have no doubt if Nick was released she'd be right back with him. Who talks to the guy that killed and supposedly s. assaulted her right up to her wedding day? Tells her fiance she had a dream about leaving him for her killing partner literally days before the wedding? She's playing on everyone's sympathies and taking no responsibility for her part in her mother's death. Not saying others aren't taking advantage of her but it gives her what she wants too. And when she stops wanting it or doesn't like how things are going... well, we all know how she handled the last situation she no longer wanted to be in. This debate isn't just about her victim status, it's about public safety and her proven ability to take extreme, violent measures to handle a situation. She could have stood up out of that chair, proved her mother a liar, been rescued and hailed a hero. Instead in her mind she justified killing her own mother and manipulating an unstable autistic guy that wasn't right to begin with into throwing his life away. It's not all about emotion and sympathy, the facts and logic have to be considered too.

You guys said she couldn't get up and leave, but she could. She walked at home when no one was around, she walked to let the guy into the house, she left without a wheelchair. She didn't ask for help, she didn't leave or show she could walk. She chose to hatch a plan to kill her own mother. Sane people don't decide this is the best way to handle a situation. Having sex after the fact with her dead mother in the next room is disturbing. Her claims of rape are moot bc she continued to talk to the guy while in prison, even after she was in a relationship with her current husband and could easily have no contact with Nick. Give it time, people will see her for what she is. Especially if she keeps admitting in interviews how capable she is of lies and manipulation thanks to her mother's tutelage.

    • @kyoxtohru112

I'm of that opinion and I may be wrong but I think in one interview she even said that. I think she served her time and honestly need extensive therapy or even placed in an institution for severely abused kids that lived if one even exists.
For other options too many cases have children going to the police first and the parents pretty much manipulating them or they can't find any legal means to remove the child from the home cause there's no immediate danger present. I'd say she need to find a trusted neighbor and show that the mom has been lying and help her to get in touch with someone aside from the police that can help her gather enough evidence to prove the mom was lying and finally go to the police.
Basically the police for me now is treatment plan for after something happens and it's really rare for them to be a preventive, that is the laws themselves and we see how that works out.

She DID contact the police about it. They didn't believe her. Dee Dee had convinced everyone, including Gypsy that she was younger than she was. She convinced the police that Gypsy was mentally delayed, and mistaking protective parenting for abuse. The police believed Dee Dee, so they didn't help Gypsy.
As a victim of abuse myself, I KNOW for a FACT that it can be practically impossible to get help from law enforcement and government officials in cases of domestic abuse (whether it is abuse from parents, spouses, or siblings).
That's why I think it was self-defense. But, I think Gypsy is manipulative, without even realizing it; because of the way she requested help from the boy, then threw him away like trash and basically labeled him as a psychotic killer, when he was trying to rescue her.

as a staunch pro-lifer, dont compare this to abortion.
Gypsy did attempt to seek help from the police. Just like her mother manipulated Doctors, her mother manipulated police into believing that she wasnt of sound mind, and the cops took her right back to her mother without question.
Its also known she ran away from home once and her mother caught her and chained her to a bed for over a week.
Her mother was killing her with every dose of medication, every unnecessary surgery, the malnutrition of living off of pedialyte and meal replacements her entire life.
What, pray tell, would you have had gypsy do? she exausted all non violent options as much as she could before escalating to murder.
As a survivor of abuse its disgusting to watch christian men downplay a survivor of extreme, daily abuse, and hmm and haw about her acting in violence to end her abuse when she went about every non-violent avenue to be put right back into her abusers hands by the very people who should have helped her.
Self defense- *true* self defense is justified and perfectly fine.
This might have been premeditated, but it was premeditated as a final option.
Rape alone doesnt kill, but id be pretty justified in a murder of self defense if i was kidnapped, locked away, and raped day in and out by my kidnapper. replace rape with poison and you have Gypsys case.

My take on this: When did Gypsy figure out she wasn’t sick?
When did Gypsy figure out she could actually walk?
When did Gypsy figure out anything and how long did she keep faking it with her Mom & the doctors?
For someone who was always in a wheelchair, she sure walked fine out of the house that night & in to the court room.
I understand her Mom abused her, but when did Gypsy figure that out?
Like the Turpin 13, children ages 2 - 29 who were finally set free from horrific treatment & abuse living in a house of horrors.

I think people fail to realize how hard it is to know what your options really are, and to concentrate on solutions, when you are being habitually tortured, threatened, talked down to, manipulated, controlled, and mostly isolated from people who might help you.
I didn't have the same thing happen to me that happened to Gypsy. However, I experienced my own form of extreme abuse. I know my mind flooded with thoughts including trying to run away and possibly be caught and killed of severely hurt in the attempt, killing the abuser just to make sure I would never be hurt again (but, having to kill someone wasn't something I wanted to do), or even killing myself just so I wouldn't have to kill the abuser but wouldn't get hurt anymore myself. I escaped. That left permanent bad consequences for me too.
Once I got away, I realized running away was the best solution for me. But, at the time I was being abused, I wasn't sure I could escape. Logically, the surefire way to stop my abuser from hurting me was to commit suicide. But, I wanted to try to live.
Anyway, I will never judge someone else in a similar situation, because they chose a different potential solution than I chose, just to avoid being constantly tortured or abused. Her mom should have never put her in that situation to begin with.
It is easy to judge someone from a distance when you have never experienced something similar. But, when you have, you understand how a decent person can choose a seemingly evil solution. I chose to try to escape my abuser. I was willing to accept the consequnces if my attempt failed (revenge could be sought and I could get hurt badly or killed). But, I succeeded. I can't Gypsy harshly for not wanting to accept that was the possible consequence for her if she attempted to leave her mom again, and her mom tried to stop her.😊

Maybe she felt like nobody would believe her and redrum was her only option. Either way it was not her only option. What her mother did to her was awful and evil and wrong but what she did was the same. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Ok, she knew she could walk, & she could walk for a long time. She met a man before Nick, & her mom caught her at his house. She was meeting men on the internet for a while. She was in on some of the scams cuz she liked the attention, too, but not to the degree of her mother. It’s apparent even now w/ all this attention she’s trying to get now. The whole situation is sad, & she should have reached out for help. All she had to do is get up at an event, walk, & tell people, everyone would believe that. Many Drs were suspicious of her. Her mother looked like she didn’t have long when it happened, she was way closer to death. She was physically ill cuz of her diabetes. The series “The Act,” chronicled some of it, but we’ll never get the whole story. I pray for her, & any kids in this situation.

    • @ronnie-lynn
      @ronnie-lynn 9 місяців тому +2

She was medicated by her mother. Those medications she didn’t need, that caused her side effects mimicking symptoms of illnesses. In a way that is a parent “poisoning” but I wouldn’t call it that personally but it’s not far off. Also lots of people that are prisoners held captive could have maybe escaped but didn’t. It effects you mentally abuse like this so to you it’s as easy as going to the neighbours but to someone being abused it’s not that simple.

It wasn’t Christianity that made Nick do what he did. He did it for gypsy. Love makes you do some crazy things. I can tell you firsthand that the medical institutions are only there because they want money. Yes, there are some good people in the medical industry but that’s far and in between. And then, when you do find a good doctor, the hospital they work for is usually only in it for the money. I personally have experienced that not only when I thought I was trans but when I had my last two babies. My obgyn is amazing while the hospital he delivers at is crap. Yeah look at Kyle Rittenhouse. He is traumatized by what he had to do. Was he justified in doing what he did no but he was defending himself and businesses. I think god can see the difference in the intent of the killing. I don’t think self defense is a sin. Yes in the Bible, it does say thou shall not kill. But it doesn’t say in the Bible that you cannot defend yourself.

Gypsy knew she could walk. In fact, Gypsy could walk just fine. Gypsy was suspicious about her age as she was getting older. She was born in 1991. In 2005 she would have been 13-14 depending on when the video was made. She had run away in the past to a local man's place and her mother brought her back. She shot her mother with a BB gun thinking it was a real gun. She apparently was having sex with a com-con friend while she was secretly having a two-year relationship with Nick online behind her mother's back. She was sending cash and items to Nick and paid for him to come down twice to see her. The first time was when they had sex in the movie theatre. Her mother Dee Dee was sick (around the time of the murder) and Gypsy was the one giving her the insulin. I don't know how many drugs she was taking at that point. She had means and opportunity to just go with Nick and get on the bus taking her a laptop and phone with her. Nick is on the Autistic spectrum and is developmentally delayed. She was faking being developmentally delayed for years. She must have known he was developmentally delayed for real. She now plays this victim of "I didn't murder anyone." She downplays Nick. She needs to take responsibility for the fact she orchestrated this murder using Nick as a Patsy. She has served her time, but she needs to advocate (she doesn't need to contact Nick) for Nick's sentence to be reduced. She is just making herself look bad.

I feel bad for what Gypsy went thorough. Her mom was completely wrong. I feel Gypsy should have contacted the police and reported the abuse. I understand what she went your l through. I saw the documentaries, the movie etc, but that doesn't make murder the right choice. I'm happy that she is no longer going through the abuse she endured, but I don't condone what part she played or the choices that were made. I hope and pray she repented for her part in this and that she truly gives her life to God.

It was definitely 100%, self defense. I know a lot of people are against her. But until you are HONEST about her situation, you would never see how she is innocent.
Where was she going to turn? The doctors were on her mother's side. The mother had documents stating she was incapable of being responsible for herself. She had TRIED AND FAILED to run away. And learned first hand, just how bad her mom could be if she didn't behave. She had NO WAY OUT! Say what you want. But until YOU ARE TRAPPED, you have no right to say anything to or about her choices.
I feel bad for her bf. He is autistic. That alone breaks my heart. BUT! HE WANTED to do it. Regardless of what she wanted. Look how brutal the murder was. He wanted to do it. He is dangerous. And Gypsy is not to blame for that. But I believe he needs to be in a medical hospital. Not prison. But regardless of the injustice to him, Gypsy is not responsible for that.

Ok Gypsy knew that she could walk, she knew that could eat not only that but around the time of that creepy performance, CPS was called in to their home from an anonymous tip, nothing happened because they interviewed them and they discovered that she was able to walk just fine and that she was 18 years old meaning an adult and the case was closed , So even if she "didn't know" about her age , she definitely found out right there and then and went along with the con anyway for 4/5 more years acting like a little child for financial gain and probably because of the toxic abusive codependency that she her mother had .
