It sounds like your wife had seen a doctor and got results back and knew what was happening to her. She chose not to worry your family by keeping it to herself. She chose to spend time and say goodbye to everyone in her own way.

The same thing happened with my husband. The year he was going to pass, he would tell me every day and night that he loves me and he took me and our kids out a lot. He even book first class plane tickets for us. On his last day, he texted me while i was at work that for some reason, he misses me so much and can't wait to see me. There's so much more that he did, but that will be a whole story if I tell it on here.
My brother did the same thing before he died. He usually will call me days ahead to tell me he’s coming home. That thanksgiving he didn’t call until he was 10 mins away. I thought he was just coming home for Hmong new year but he never went & I asked him he was just like oh I just miss u guys. I thought it was weird because he never says that. 4 days later he died.
