People have been saying "feels like a classic corridor video" on every Corridor video for the last year. Guys, I think at this point we can just agree that Corridor has been consistently great this whole time
no, and it def dont give classic corridor vibes, editing is awful, vfx look horrible, colors are all over the place, lighting doesnt match, ... and these are the guys that sit in a chair and judge/make fun of other vfx.. i love them but this is unacceptable.
@rodrigobarraza so when they started planning this video months ago, they were predicting a guy named Luigi would make headlines as an assassin around the same time they upload the final video? Wow I didn't know these guys were both great vfx artists as well as have the ability to see into the future. That's wild.
This is impressive AF! The camera work from Mario's point of view to sell the illusion is masterfully done. All the little details of navigating the world being that big. Big Kudos!
I absolutely LOVE all the little moments like at 1:35 where you can see the "normal" world in its cartoony aesthetic each time he grows! A fantastic vid from start to finish. :)
Sam did an amazing job trying to explain how this videos was done, but it didn't come close to conveying how cool and incredible the end result was. It could easily be content for a simulator for how immersive it felt. Another CD classic is born...
Didn’t think the splashes would hold that well, this is a good way to get good movie shots without having to recreate a whole cgi landscape or city, specially if you have a preset camera movement
Just commenting again to say that I can't stop rewatching this - this is well beyond an "old" Corridor video, the camera movement and combination of scale changes with camera positioning are so on point you can *feel* the scale in a way I've never seen before, it's incredible, really shows off Sam's skills as a VFX artist (and sound designer, the sound is flawless)
@@oldgregg86.i think it is perfectly valid since it doesnt take away anything honestly. The only issue I have is if >99% of something is AI and thus becomes slop.
imagine if Nintendo actually made this into a game mechanic for a future Mario game growing more every time u eat another mushroom, it'd make for such a cool and unique Mario game
@@plixplop The original game from the 80s did something like that. There were a lot of secret areas you had to smash high blocks to get into or curl up into small Mario to slide past. Current games seem to have forgotten that aspect though, making it easier as opposed to how the idea you two had would work out. As many Mario's as they created, I wouldn't cross that option out yet. After all, it's only 2025 and Mario gaming potential is endless. 😄👍
I loved how this came out! I think the only thing that could have made it more realistic would be simulating ambient occlusion as you got bigger. Maybe by lowering the contrast, blurring the sharpness, and shifting the colors slightly cooler :) Fantastic job!
the soundtrack is so cool!!! i really like the flow of the video too; it's cool how almost every shot has an extra feature to it to make it unique and maintain the wonder. there were so many unexpected moments; tripping on the powerlines, sliding under the bridge, catching the helicopter?!!! (my favourite for sure), and the shockwave from the colliding punch.
The only flaw I saw is that the helicopter didn't track very well with the ground after he placed it, but other than that they did a great job of avoiding showing direct interactions with the environment.
@@bvoyelr I mean Niko-uigi clipped through the power lines on the first step over but it was covered fairly well by the shadows. My brain just went wait he didn't step over he stepped through lol Still a wild idea done amazingly well
@@bvoyelrWatching it through a few times there were a few moments with some artifacts from compositing and such but the only bothersome one was the power lines at the start and that's quickly lost in the subsequent fun
Awesome Guys!!! Although your VFX react videos are causing me notice stuff like two cars appearing at 0:54! It's your fault I can never go back to being a normal person!
I think I would've like to see Mario (Sam's) movements be a little more slow and lumbering, but it was still really cool to see a walking POV scaled so big. This is basically how Google Earth VR is but at a much higher fidelity and dynamic lighting thanks to Gaussian Splats.
The timing of this video dropping is certainly something LOL
That's what i thought
Literally just thought this😂
so they really did catch him huh

crazy how this only has 100 likes, I gotta be 101!!
This was great, felt like a classic corridor video!
Honestly way more effort & creativity than that lazy minion studios corporate cash in Mario movie haha, this is classic corridor
Way better than the actual movie.
yeah if I was 12 again this would be hilarious to share in school during it class
Definitely
I thought the same. This kind of stuff is why I subscribed back in the olden days.
The effect at 1:04 where the city looks stylized is so cool, props since you only see it for a few frames
You’re not wrong
Ikr and hi weegee!
true true but then you see the over lit kids at 1:11 with those very light shadows compared to the shadows from the tree which are so dark 🤓
oh i didnt notice ^^

Because it will be like one. See y'all in the next 7 years

So true until someone posts this exact comment on the next one!
Luigui was after another CEO.
The cloud effects around the punch were a really nice touch
Came from the breakdown!! truly something else. it feels like a classic corridor but with everything new you guy's have used over the years.
sam knocked it out of the park with all the shots on this one, love the little reversal twist at the end too!
The timing is truly impeccable
“How big can I get” as the starting line is wild
That's what she said
At 1:33 you can see the shadow of the GoPro strapped to Sam's head, love it 😂
well yeah! the shadows also there in the mirror in the beginning, it's canonical
@TheYoxiz lol I hadn't even noticed it at the beginning 😅
that's because it's go pro footage. that's the point. Mario POV

We need a Titan Luigi now. We need him to show those CEOs who the bigger man REALLY is.

Interesting that at 2:19 the AI filter momentarily turns Luigi into a tree
That's ai for you I guess
ugh that's disappointing they used ai for the transitions, a rainbow filter effect or something would've been perfectly fine
