I find lots of your videos helpful, I do drop by every now and then and see what's new! I only paint stuff that is staying in the shop, it's so damp it would be rusty in hours!
I like that you narrate your videos. You do a great job at it and you control background noise. I don’t work with metal, but a learn a lot from you. Plus, it’s a nice mix to see the horses once in a while.
A very nice build. I have a similar saw, but I mounted a duplex receptacle on mine controlled by a light switch and taped the throttle wide open. I don't use the variable speed much, so it is much less cumbersome than messing around with a block of wood. Thank's for the share.
Thank you, Gary. Nice job, Neat and clean. I just bought a portable bandsaw and plan on making a stand very similar to yours and Black Bear Forge's. Thanks for the detailed explanations...
I use mine all the time and now have a simple table attached to the bandsaw. It makes it much more useful but a pain if you actually want to use it hand held!
That’s an awesome idea I’ll be nicking it for my portaband thanks mate I find most of your videos really easy to follow an I like your voice overs as I think it gives you time to get what you want to say right Thanks for sharing Scott from Australia
Thank you for posting your own take on John Switzer's Porta-Band stand design. I have a few ideas on how I want my stand to look, function, and work, but your video gave me a couple new ideas for how to approach my build. By the way, I have been watching your videos for a while now and admire your industrious approach to your work. Keep it up! Cheers! Whiupple
Great video. I saw the one on black bear too. I built a stand for a portable saw I had in my old shoeing trailer. I threw it together one afternoon because I needed it the next day. It was pretty rough but worked well enough I was too lazy to build another one. I sold the trailer and some stuff in it so I need a new stand. This one is great. I watched the Black Bear video too. I will be heading to the scrap yard tomorrow for coil and leaf springs to make punches. I will have to see what is around to use for a base.
Very handy! I've taken the twist out of "I" and "H" beams by burning a hot spot weld and then smacking it with a hammer before it solidifies. The smack draws it close and the cooling pulls it in. Tremendous pulling power is produced and, by repeating this procedure, salvage steel can be made useful, again.
Nicely done! I bet lots of folks with portable band saws will be working on making these. Also, I think your way of doing narration works well. Keep up the good work!
A few years ago after looking at a lot of UA-cam on bandsaw standsI came up with the most simple and efficient idea that you can imagineit's nothing more than a piece of plumbing pipe a flange a hole drilled at the right height that meets up with the bolt thathat holds the handle on the saw.u only need to make a simple adapter piece with a thread and a knob to tighten or loosen so you can take off band saw and use it in a normal fashion.works great.if I knew how to put it on you tube I would share it..so so so simple and cheap
Great video, thank you. I have also been searching different peoples solutions and agree the majority of them make it permanently mounted which defeats the purpose. I find the ones for sale are also outrageously expensive for what they are. I could actually buy a cheap Benchtop bandsaw for the same price. Going to use this idea, thanks to you and the originator.
Simple, awesome idea. I too was looking around for a design that is quickly detachable for ages. Thank you for sharing. Would love to see your build on one that cuts horizontal as well. Cheers!
Very nice stand and I think I'll copy it for myself. I would add a table that would give me a larger service to put what I'm cutting on. It could just sit over the C channel base and slip over the blade. That would make it quick to lift off and take the saw out.
Nice Job! I made a stand for my Milwaukee about 5 years ago out of 2x4's and some Simpson strong ties because it was all I had at the time. I may have to make a new one even though the old one is still going strong.
Excellent, I've been watching quite a few trying to settle on a design. I don't like a lot of them as the weight of the saw rests totally on the 2 screws that mount the work rest. One that hangs from the handles like this is just what I had in mind. Only need a few changes to fit the brand saw I have. Thanks!
I’ve been stuck between making my own and buying the Swag table for a while now. The Swag table allows you to disconnect the saw from the table and use it portable...the cutting table stays attached, it just pops out of the stand. Still, I really like this idea too. I’m still torn. I really shouldn’t wait until I need it last minute but I probably will.
Very nicely done! If the two plates used at the bottom of the handle were taller, you could have drilled holes in each then inserted a hold down pin for the trigger.
Excellent idea been trying to figure a way to make one for a while now,got the same milwaukee saw, your build is pretty simple, hope you dont mind me kinda duplicating your table. Thanks for the idea..Great video
Very cool! This beast of a stand looks extremely robust. I had to bolt the SWAG to the work bench so that it doesn't move when I bear down on it. This looks heavy enough that you probably don't need to. The SWAG 3.0 actually is detachable! There is a 5" x 6" insert that replaces that little black table, and you attach it to the rest of the SWAG table with a single screw/knob thingy that screws/unscrews from the bottom. My only real complaint about it is that the blade is not perfectly 90 degrees perpendicular to the table, and there is no way to adjust it on the SWAG.
Did mine today much as yours but didn't hook the handle rod in bot side ran out of my metal I had so miner change to a piece of 1 X1/4" and it just has metal holding lower handle. But I try to copy your and it works solid. Thanks
Almost finish mine comes on or off in seconds .My table comes of in seconds too.Mine is still portable .Sturdy in mount.Table set up for cross cut .I will build fence soon.Has work light.... Hopefully to later setup horizonal cut jig. Thank your video helped.
Gary I to going copy yous and John S. work and only wish my welds looks like your's.Yes them welds pull.If you weld heavy you can pull it your way. Thanks looks good
Loveing this work and video is a great help. Adding a ideal as so not to need to "thead the saws cord thur the back .As I to copy Mr. John S. idealizing blended with your too good craftmanship. I am thinking if only one surport for that handle at the base that " Ys off " at the handle to rest it into. I to love John S. works ,well all but like me has ugly welds not like you which are fine work. You help me as I try to give it back as I will be doing mine this week and posting pictures in John's furum websight on Facebook Thanks and hope to see all of your videos
im going to something similar to this. i dont want it in there permanantly either. im going to put mine on the wall so i just have to walk over and use it
Wire speed sounds quite a bit lower than it needs to be, almost sounds on the verge of stopping all together at some points. Maybe it's just the audio pickups. Cool stand none the less.
I came across this great video some time ago and still haven't built a stand for my Milwaukee. I don't care what the wife has planned for this weekend because hell or high water, I'm building one! Question, sir. When you go to install the table plate, will you be somehow attaching it to the body of the saw or, just with the three original screws? Also, did you just "eye ball" the angle of the up rights? If not, how did you come up with the angle as it's perfect. Thanks for sharing! Regards.
Peter Mississauga I’ve been using it for about a year now and yes, I just used the original holes. I just held the saw upright and drew a line on the box corresponding to the handle, so yes, just eyeballed it!
Nice video. I've been kicking around building one myself. Next time I would like to see an American flag on the sweatshirt, I think it would make a good video even better.
No Idea, I just bent it to fit! No video for the table it was too simple to warrant a video., just cut a slot in the plate and drill three holes, that's it.
could make a cord with a foot switch. that way you can quickly shut it down in the event of an emergency. use a momentary switch in a box and operate with your foot while the tool switch is depressed
I'd like to think it was that innocent but I know there are people out there that can't wait to pull cr4p like that just because they can. I suppose it makes them feel better somehow. As I said, I'd like to believe you have it right.
Gary, I am glad you found my video helpful, thank you for the mention. Looks like I need to paint mine
I find lots of your videos helpful, I do drop by every now and then and see what's new! I only paint stuff that is staying in the shop, it's so damp it would be rusty in hours!

I've watched many of these DIY solutions. I think yours is the simplest and best. Well done.
Thanks

You gave me a great idea, thx for your explanation on how to build this stand. Keep up the good work look forward to other videos.
Glad it was helpful!
I like the voice over narration, as as give after thoughts on how it is done.
Your ringtone set me off on an afternoon Who binge...just thought you should know. 😂
That’s an awesome idea I’ll be nicking it for my portaband thanks mate
I find most of your videos really easy to follow an I like your voice overs as I think it gives you time to get what you want to say right
Thanks for sharing
Scott from Australia
you're welcome
Very simple and useful design. That’s the best one I’ve seen so far
Excellent idea.....
It is so fantastic to see brilliant simplicity!
Thank you for sharing the actual build of the stand also!
Absolutely awesome!
I like yours very practical soon as I get a welder I’ll be able to make it

best and easiest bandsaw stand ive seen on here,,,,ill have a go at that 1,,,,thanks
Nice build. Simple/Elegant/LowCost.
Very nice welds.
Good vid and Narration!
Just Liked/Subbed.......
Excellent !!!! I am going to build one this weekend.
Thank you Gary! I always enjoy your videos. I hope all the ones and joints are doing well.
Nice job. Nice video as well. Simple yet very useful. Thanks for the video.
Hey Gary - great idea - your creative as always and appreciate you sharing your uberness; Cheers from the states.
Nice job ! Sturdy and functional
Simple, excellent design, well done. Thank you
Love this video!!! Great idea and great walk through on how you did each step.

I like your voice-over work,,, nice that you don't get drown out by tool noise!! :o)
O,,,
I do enjoy all of your videos. Relaxing.
Great job on the stand and the video. I have the SWAG Off-road version and I like it. I think yours is a great approach as well. 👌🏻

I like this design, very similar to the one made by Simple Little Life. I really need to make one of these for my no name Chinese portaband.
Simple, awesome idea. I too was looking around for a design that is quickly detachable for ages. Thank you for sharing. Would love to see your build on one that cuts horizontal as well. Cheers!
Excellent work.
One of the best designs I've seen to date. Fine job!

Very good design and a very nice video.
Thanks for liking
Great video as usual, I made one that clamps in my vise and hangs from the handle.
Sounds like that welder is set to perfection
I'm going to make one just like that that really made things look neat
Why, what’s wrong with mine?
I also saw the original from Black Bear Forge....Nice job sir..Gotta make my own now..
That’s awesome thank you and Black Bear forge
This is a great design
It works well for me!
Great video Gary! That’s a really useful stand!
Great video, nicely explained and demonstrated.i just finished a welding course and this will be a good starter project. Thanks Allen

Love your video found it to be really helpful in making my own saw holder
awesome stand, I will definitely make one for myself in the future
Great stuff! Thanks for the video.
Glad you liked it!
Very nicely done! If the two plates used at the bottom of the handle were taller, you could have drilled holes in each then inserted a hold down pin for the trigger.
Great idea!
THIS IS A WINNER THANK YOU SIR
So simple. So good!
Good job of all the ones I've seen this is the best this is the one I'm going to build
Clever, really good idea
Glad you like it!
Great Job !!!
good job GARY ==== looks good ==== will really be handy
Excellent idea been trying to figure a way to make one for a while now,got the same milwaukee saw, your build is pretty simple, hope you dont mind me kinda duplicating your table. Thanks for the idea..Great video
Go for it!
Keep up the videos, they are much appreciated,

Using a lump hammer for fine adjustment = Real world metalworking!
Great idea, could cut a lot of the welding out, we get the idea.
I spent 134 USD in a table.... and I could spent 20 Bucks with this project. By the way CONGRATULATIONS for this!!!!
Yep looks great 👍
I use it all the time, I added an 8 x 8” aluminium table in place of the standard guide and its very useful.
Nice job
Did mine today much as yours but didn't hook the handle rod in bot side ran out of my metal I had so miner change to a piece of 1 X1/4" and it just has metal holding lower handle. But I try to copy your and it works solid. Thanks

Thanks 😊
Nice Job Gary
Thank you
Gary I to going copy yous and John S. work and only wish my welds looks like your's.Yes them welds pull.If you weld heavy you can pull it your way.
Thanks looks good
I need one of those!
I like it enough to copy it :)
Go for it!
Top Notch, as usual!!!
Good one Gary NICE TO SEE YOU ARE BACK. Merv
Well Done Gaz
Not sure if someone mentioned it but, you could use a velcro strap for the trigger
Good video cheers mate
No problem. Hope it helps.
Good video
Thanks, and the chips from the sawing process go on the floor!
Half of a good idea... would have liked to see the other half implemented where the saw can tilt forward and be used as a chop saw...
Why, I don’t need a chop saw I have a massive one already but have no upright bandsaw!
how can any one not give you a thumbs up . ?
Loveing this work and video is a great help.
Adding a ideal as so not to need to "thead the saws cord thur the back .As I to copy Mr. John S. idealizing blended with your too good craftmanship.

You help me as I try to give it back as I will be doing mine this week and posting pictures in John's furum websight on Facebook
Thanks and hope to see all of your videos
Very interesting Gary
Hi : I notice under neath you base might make nice saw blade storage place.
Thanks
im going to something similar to this. i dont want it in there permanantly either. im going to put mine on the wall so i just have to walk over and use it
great job gave me some good idea's you did say you're putting a larger table on latter right.
Yes, a job for later..
Get yourself a foot pedal switch to plug the saw into when you're using it on the table, then you don't have to jam some random bit into the handle
thumbs up my friend.
really cool
Wire speed sounds quite a bit lower than it needs to be, almost sounds on the verge of stopping all together at some points. Maybe it's just the audio pickups. Cool stand none the less.
I liked the video although making it a little shorter would improve it a lot. Maybe 12-15 min is the optimum for me personally
The voice-over is great btw
Wow, no gloves for welding, what a dude, no eye protection ether.
I came across this great video some time ago and still haven't built a stand for my Milwaukee. I don't care what the wife has planned for this weekend because hell or high water, I'm building one! I do like it. The question is what did you get for lunch? 😊
I watch Black Bear Forge too. He just did a video on keeping the comments clean. A huge thumbs up from me.
I din't get any! She was running late so I went without!
Nice video. I've been kicking around building one myself. Next time I would like to see an American flag on the sweatshirt, I think it would make a good video even better.
Don't mind your voice.
I want to do this but I want to use it as a chop saw to these cut so fast and less noise then my chop saw.
Are u spray arc welding that not to much fried bacon sound
Thanks i needed this video. what degree is that angle bar where it meets the handle? Where's the video for the table? tried to find it
No Idea, I just bent it to fit! No video for the table it was too simple to warrant a video., just cut a slot in the plate and drill three holes, that's it.
could make a cord with a foot switch. that way you can quickly shut it down in the event of an emergency. use a momentary switch in a box and operate with your foot while the tool switch is depressed
That's fine until you want to use it as a portable saw as intended then your stuffed!
Also, dangling on one foot while the other depresses a switch is not a secure position.
Two dislikes. Un-freakin-believable. As always, nice job. Now can you design me a version that will act as a horizontal bandsaw? :-D
I think it was a big fat finger that hit them accidentally, and they didn't know how to turn them back off.
I'd like to think it was that innocent but I know there are people out there that can't wait to pull cr4p like that just because they can. I suppose it makes them feel better somehow. As I said, I'd like to believe you have it right.
😊 Ps nice logo.
