Why doesn't Jaquet Droz let their artists create modern designs? While the pieces they create are beautiful, a modern version or a modern view of life could spark a lot of excitement.
Perhaps, but what about modern life is particularly alluring beyond mere technological advancement? Is it alcohol served in cheap, plastic cups at parties where dull, uninspiring, synthetic music is being played? I think the greatest aspect of these horological pieces is the ability to live vicariously through the highlights of past eras and the high courts of Europe. The almost indescribable, old-world, traditional sensation is the only reason I'd ever consider a modern piece of haute homology. But, that's merely my opinion.
i dream to get something like that someday but then i realize...whether i am becoming too materialistic .....should i spend such money on a thing which i can do without..and help someone in need of basic elements of life??
He was the best watch and timepiece maker of them all (not Patel Philippe or Audimars or Vacheron) which are fellow french people too, so the best watchmakers are french but I guess Switzerland is the best location, the soul of Swiss Made high-end luxury best of the best is really french.
