Great video. I just got my 1200 desert Edition and love the bike. I went with the Bumot Defender EVO Panniers from ADV Motorrad and love them. I also installed a Puig touring windshield since the stock windshield was too short for me. Keep up the good work on your videos. John
Thank you! That is awesome! Congratulations on the new Tiger!! I love that bike. Those panniers look great by the way! I've considered a different windscreen but the stock one seems to be working good for me. You must be very tall, I'm 6'1" and have no issues.
Slick how the mount integrated so it moves with the windshield. Pro tip for when challenged with stacking clumsy components in vertical plane. Create guide pins by cutting heads of long screws. Hand thread the pins in place, stack components then insert correct fasteners into a couple of the places. Remove the guides and insert remaining fasteners. Torque all to correct value, viola!
Thanks! Yeah, I finally found one locally that wasn't priced like a home. Once I sell the KLR...sadly....I'll work on the inside of that "Bike Shed"..lol
It is definitely a heavy bike. If you are talking about bumper to bumper, stop and go traffic....I don't think I'd want this bike for that. It's expensive and designed as a touring/adventure bike. But if you are talking mild traffic and have a decent commute....why not, I found that it performs well in the rain...see my video where I rode it through the remnants of a tropical storm. ua-cam.com/video/-PidxptfvTs/v-deo.html
Nice install , looks like a darn good product too. I do wondering if there would be any vibration transferred to the navy though. I guess depends on how sturdy the shield is, I doubt you will have any. Good item
Somebody needs some clamps for Christmas !! lol. That turned out great ! I was wondering if it would hit the dash, but no...they made it fit very well. Punch in my coordinates and come for a beer !! :)
Why do I feel like Yakety Sax would've been the appropriate music choice?🤣 Also, you could use toothpicks to line up the holes and hold it all together while you start the screws. Fyi
I'm happy with it. It's really well built. The only gripe I have, a minor one, is that they could've provided longer screws. The original ones work, but a few more threads would've made the install easier and provided a little more confidence that there were enough threads in the well nut.
@@Ron_C ok thanks for the quick reply! I had a gen 1 explorer and I wired it to the back of the headlight, but I now have a 2021 tiger alpine, and not sure about connecting to the LED headlight unit
I was getting frustrated for you watching you put that on. If I lived closer I would have given you two more hands. But you got it. Looks much better there.
Some comments have provided some "after the fact" assistance! Use guides, or even toothpicks...clever. But, I can imagine after some refreshing adult brown beverages we'd still be struggling.....
Boa noite amigo! Achei este suporte para GPS ,o mais bacana de todos . Sou do Brasil e não o encontro aqui em meu país.vc poderia me fornecer o site para que eu possa adquirir este ? Obrigado e obrigado pelo vídeo !
It shakes a bit on rough roads, but I haven't noticed anything that has made it unusable. I've got plenty of riding videos where you can see the GPS while I am riding.
The Tiger 900 version of this evotech mount, instaled on my 900 Rally Pro shakes like hell on gravel roads, vibrates heavy @ 3000 RPM . As the whole mount is conected to the windscreen, it shakes and vibrates along with the windschreen
I was hesitant because of that same reason. Honestly, I don't raise, or lower the windscreen that often. So far, it hasn't bothered me. But I too didn't like the idea of it moving.
How are you finding the Desert, a shame the DOT make you guys over there in the US have them big ugly turn signals. Such a good looking bike, I love mine.
@@Ron_C here in the uk they come with LED turn signals, and in most other parts of the world as far as I've seen. They look much smarter and much smaller.
After owning my Triumph Tiger 900 for 8 months now and after trying out so many things, there remains to be a BIG compromise to me. There seems to be no decent way to mount a Garmin or Tom Tom GPS on eye level position. I tried mounting on handlebars....no thank you (to dangerous to look down all the time) I tried this Evotech mount...no thank you( the screen vibration makes it totaly unreadable). I think the mounting spots used by evotech are not the way to go. TEST ? ....Start your engine and feel the difference with your fingers around 2500 RPM, comparing on a mid handlebar spot and a top windscreen spot. There's the problem with the tiger 900 Please, if anyone has a solution, send it, post it, comment it, suggest it

Thanks for the video…. Ordered phone mount version for my new tiger 1200 desert edition.
Awesome! It really is quality made stuff! If you can get some help, an extra pair of hands will make the installation easier!
After watching your video I got one the same from my satnav to on my Triumph Alpine thank you
Thanks for the comment! I hope that you like it as much as I do!

That's an awesome idea! I've done something similar working on cars...not sure why I let this kick my ass. Thanks!
I love the process of making a bike truly personal....
Funny how we buy a loaded bike and still find that we need to add things...lol
Very nice Ron!! I love it! Great video, and I really like your storage shed, got to catch up on your past videos, take care and have a wonderful day!
Thanks! I felt like I needed this shed...I've kept bikes outside for many years, but I finally decided that I needed better protection.
Looks like somebody bought themselves a nice storage shed.
That electric windshield is the bomb.

I really like it. The way it moves with the windshield is cool. You have a lot more patience than I do, lol.
lol...I've been able to suppress the rage mode in the last few years. Thanks!
That looks really cool! Nice install and review of it, brother, hope you're having a great weekend so far 😁✌
Thanks 👍. Meh, spent most of the weekend doing fixit stuff around the house. I did get a lot accomplished....today...the wind is horrible.
@@Ron_C still horrible here (wind), just been Spring(ish) cleaning a bit indoors cause it's rainy and windy.
Is the Tiger 1200 a good commute bike ? Does it feel light through traffic ?? Kaid of daily ride ......

Good item
There is a little vibration on really bumpy roads, but if I lower the screen it is minimal. On a good road, the vibration is minimal.

Sadly....I have some clamps...lol! I don't know man, it's getting cold up there! Maybe we'll swing by on the Alaska ride on 2022
A big thumbs-up that is very neat take care catch you later
Thanks!
Keep on sharing my friend, stay safe.,,
Thanks, you too!
Looks awesome.. Nice hat too... The klr650 is up for sale.. You still gonna talk to me?? 😂 😂 😂 😂 Great video as always nice new ending
Yeah, having 2 bikes just isn't my thing. I guess that I might still talk to ya....lol...Thanks bro!
Yep, six hands would have come in handy lol. Man, that is a very nicely made bracket 👍
It is really well made. I often worry that the holes will not line up exactly right, etc, but this is very precise.
like the background music!!!
Thanks! It's free to use with the editing software...limited, but I can usually find something...sometimes I go for obnoxious music!
How did you connect the power to the gps and what mount did you use.
I have a DIN connector that I plug into the socket in front of the tank. The mounting bracket is by Evotech Performance.
Why do I feel like Yakety Sax would've been the appropriate music choice?🤣 Also, you could use toothpicks to line up the holes and hold it all together while you start the screws. Fyi
Good tip with the toothpicks! Honestly, sometimes I purposely pick goofy music...or obnoxious.ha!
So what do you think after having it for a while I’m trying to make up my mind which mount to buy
I'm happy with it. It's really well built. The only gripe I have, a minor one, is that they could've provided longer screws. The original ones work, but a few more threads would've made the install easier and provided a little more confidence that there were enough threads in the well nut.
Where did you connect to, to power the sat nav?
I just have been plugging into the DIN socket in front of the fuel tank .It is not hardwired.

@@baldrick650 Same here. I just worry about those sensitive electronics! I've considered running power straight from the battery, but I've been lazy.
