If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
I've been relying on these for several years to help reduce my asthma triggers. During wildfire season they are *essential* I maintain them attentively. The only challenge I've faced was when living above a vegan bakery. Is there something particularly noxious about coconut oil? Filter changing was ineffective, scrupulous cleaning of the plastic housing was insufficient. The box retained (and transfers into the air) an oily scent!
I'm glad it helps in reducing your asthma triggers! Yes, many people confirmed that they are crucial for the wildfire season. Hmm, I haven't tested any of these air purifiers with coconut oil or any other oil, but you gave me an interesting idea to do. Thanks. Anyway, this model doesn't have that powerful carbon filter, which may be the issue with purifying the coconut oil. Have you tried any other air purifier, such as the Winix 5500-2?
try using two carbon filters in the coway it does fit. i use a new one at the back and old one at the front as it makes the new one last longer. sorry to say but 1 coway wont purify a room 100% if its been flooded with smoke or oil etc. maybe does 90%. so try a coway with the coal peices in the mesh instead of the carbon filter sheet. the sheet is not as good. use the coways at maximum for hours before bed then put on on average speed or low speed when u decide to go to sleep. have about 10 people who smoke in my building and im on the top floor it is a utter nightmare and making me sick.
The Coway hepa filter is better than Winix. But Winix has a better Carbon filter. So I have both🤣🤣🤣🤣Got the Winix Xq for living room and 2 Coway 1512HH for our bedrooms😊
You have a good point. I think those brands are aware of these too. To prove this, we can compare smart sensors in these air purifiers. The smart sensor in the Coway will detect only dust particles, while on the Winix it will detect only odors. So, yeah, I think you made a great choice by purchasing different products for different situations.
@@AirPurifierFirst How about the BlueAir? I notice it gets louder after we cook, but not sure about how it reacts to more dust. Trying to figure out which brand has the best auto mode. Thanks!

Then you can see how well it clears a room. Just a suggestion. It might cost some money, but I think it would make more sense.
I've had mine for a couple years and love it. However, the latch on the upper right side of the purifier where the cover goes on snapped off. I have to tape it on, but don't see why this would cause it to be any less effective? Or should it be replaced? Still seems to be working afaik..
how is it for dust in your experience? I saw another channel who said this was the best for dust and that is the biggest issue for me since my PC throws dust everywhere no matter how much I clean it.
Those are indicators for filter resetting. The odor will light when is time to replace the deodorant filter, which is approx every 6 months. The HEPA will light when is time to replace the HEPA filter, which is approx every 12 months.
Only thing I don't like is that these filters will fill with whatever smell comes from kitchen. Don't put near a fireplace at all. The HEPA filter will when feed that smell into the clean air over and over which is more awful than the smell itself before filtered. I had to move mine away from kitchen and living room with fireplace. Works great in bed rooms. Love the unit but hate that these filters fill up fast with smells and then recycle those into the air
Hey totally random but can you put 400s filters in the cheaper one? They seem very similar in size. I kinda want the better odor reduction from the pellets xD
I have bought the Levoit Vital 100, and right now, I am in the process of testing it. After I complete all tests and publish a review, I will make suggested comparisons. Thanks! The Levoit Vital 100 is much smaller than these two, but it is intended for almost the same size rooms. So these comparisons will be interesting.
@@nikita2560 Some purifiers: IQair, Oransi, Dyson, Aeris, Alen, Austin, all have rubber seals around their filters, or their housing that connects to the filters. Why does this matter? Well what makes a N95 mask so effective? It's seal around your face. Any leakage and your breathing in contaminated air. Well, most air purifiers, and even vaccumes don't have a rubber seal to prevent leakage. For people with severe asthma and allergies, this can be a nightmare for two reasons. 1. It re introduces the dirty air back in the air causing the sufferer to inhale those particles for much longer. 2. If any particles on the filter build up over time, and someone bumps into the purifier, or even in general, all that dirty air can be re-released into the air. Coway does not have this upgrade. However, for a budget device, it's very good. Usually the premium purifiers use this added feature. But I'd highly recommend it if you are having a really rough time breathing.
It is hard to present all tests directly in the video. In that case, I would have to record the whole testing, which I do in rooms that are not stylized for that purpose. So, those tests would not fit the video esthetically. The other solution is the time-lapse of the display of the air quality monitor while testing, which is not easy to implement into the video as well. After some time of thinking about this, I decided to go with detailed tables with all the data included.
I have 5 of these models. Two of them have been working nonstop for almost 4 years now. I only turn them off when I clean or change the filters. They are everywhere in my 800 sq.ft apartment room 😆

I've had mine for a couple years and love it. However, the latch on the upper right side of the purifier where the cover goes on snapped off. I have to tape it on, but don't see why this would cause it to be any less effective? Or should it be replaced? Still seems to be working afaik..
Hi. What filter do I need to purchase to replace the old one? I have this exact one & need to change the filter in the back.
You have to change the carbon filter (the black one) approximately thrice per year and the True HEPA filter once yearly.
how is it for dust in your experience? I saw another channel who said this was the best for dust and that is the biggest issue for me since my PC throws dust everywhere no matter how much I clean it.
Such a good unit with very old settings. I mean no screen or remote.
Oldies but goldies! :D
Can I turn the light off on this when I sleep?
Yes, you can. Just press and hold the "Ionizer" button for 3s.
When is the levoit lv-h128 review coming out?
I have already tested it, but I need more time to prepare and create a video review. This process is time-consuming.
@@AirPurifierFirst thanks bro cant wait😄😁
@@AirPurifierFirst what does Hepa setting do and what does odor setting do?
Those are indicators for filter resetting. The odor will light when is time to replace the deodorant filter, which is approx every 6 months. The HEPA will light when is time to replace the HEPA filter, which is approx every 12 months.
Hi have you tested the air doctor pro air filter ?
Hi, I haven't tested it, unfortunately.
Does this work with Google home?
No, it doesn't.
But the Coway AP-1512HHS model works with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
Should the purifier be put on the floor or a table?
I would put this one on the floor.
How do you get past that?
Hey totally random but can you put 400s filters in the cheaper one? They seem very similar in size. I kinda want the better odor reduction from the pellets xD
I see your point, but unfortunately, that's not possible.
Does this model kills bacteria, germs, and virus?
According to manufacturer info, it does.
I would like to see how this and the Winix 5500-2 compares with the Levoit Vital 100
2:59 should we leave the smart sensor panel open all the time?
No, it should be closed up. The only time when you should open it is when cleaning it.
I was almost sold on these but they emit ozone
You don't have to use the ionizer feature if you don't feel comfortable.
@@AirPurifierFirst yeah I just figured that out so I bought one 😆
How does one turn the light indicators off?
Just hold the Ionizer button for 3s.
@@AirPurifierFirst this only turns off the big air quality indicator light, the little green lights stay on (not a really big issue)
Is it noisey?
It is a bit louder at the max speed but is very quiet at other speeds.
Does it filter mold spores?
In theory yup
The smoke was gone at 15
That little noise you guys add with every on screen description is soooo annoying 👎
omfg I didn't there was a preparation part lmao
Don't tell me that you didn't unpack filters before started using it?
We need an update 😂😂
No CADR rating?? Hmmm...
Here you go: Dust 246 / Pollen 240 / Smoke 233.
This is not a review! This is a how to use tutorial.
Hmm, I'm afraid I have to disagree. Although there are a few how-to sections, this is not a tutorial.
I wouldn't buy any purifier that doesn't have a sealed system.
What does that mean?
We don't see you testing it really. Only talking about it
It is hard to present all tests directly in the video.
Don't these crap out after like 6 months
I have 5 of these models. Two of them have been working nonstop for almost 4 years now. I only turn them off when I clean or change the filters. They are everywhere in my 800 sq.ft apartment room 😆
@@iROChakri Wow why so many? Seems like you wouldn't need more than 3. Having more allows you to keep the fan speeds down maybe.
