In 2006, we sold our California 1,041 sq foot home for half a million and bought a 3,450 sq foot home for $275,000 in a much better neighborhood. So, yes, it is much better here. I don't ever even consider myself to be californian anymore. My heart is totally Missourian and I would never go back. Springfield on its worst day is still better than California because...... It feels safe and it is home.
Wow!!!! That is amazing to hear. We've helped so many move here from California and to us this area is one of a kind and special. ♥️ It makes us proud to live here and to call this place our home!
The best things about living in Springfield, Missouri? There's a lot, including proximity to Republic, but mostly, my grandson, granddaughter-in-law, and 3 of my great grand children. ❤ In San Diego, where we moved from, houses I wouldn't live in as a ghost, in neighborhoods that rival my memories of 'nam cost both arms and a leg: houses that pre-date the Spanish conquistadores, are so small you have to go outside to exhale, and on lots so small that if your neighbor on one side sneezes the neighbor on the other side says, "God bless you". But at least California has air you can sink your teeth into. So, even though I'm actually an ex local, I really do miss living in Springfield. Well, Republic, actually, but in the Springfield metropolitan area.
For sure, those great grandchildren!!! 😂 And while we have our rivalry, Republic is sill a great city. Well, an OKAY city 🙄 I know California HAS to have some really old houses. We have some here too, but not like Cali!
@@wiserlivingrealty Take a look at San Diego real estate listings. I doubt you're familiar with San Diego neighborhoods, but I am, and seriously, there are vast swathes of real estate that are incredibly dangerous, yet the houses, about the size of an outhouse, and falling apart, going for 3/4 million dollars or more!
I think Springfield is the epitome of what I call “ the bell curve +”. In just about every category for just about all kinds of tastes, the area is above average- not extraordinary and certainly not below average. It’s a bit unpretentious and what ya see, is what you get. I like the weather - there is decent number of days of w sun in the winter
The diversity. We have 57 shades of vanilla, 6 shades of chocolate, and 5 shades of strawberry. There's a church here for everyone, but it's OK if ya don't. Community spirit? you can't tell much until the chips are down. THEN the heroes come out of the woodwork. Ask about the Ice Storm of 2007. Or Covid.
We do have our heroes come out of the woodwork here. I have always found some of the nicest people, who help when we need it. This is some great feedback. 😌 Also, I have never heard diversity described as flavors of ice cream 😂
Moved to Springfield from Colorado. And I absolutely love it here. The wildlife and nature is amazing here 😍
Well hello! Glad to have you here (in Springfield and on YT 😂).

What an interesting perspective on looking at Springfield! There are certainly pros and cons to every city, including ours! Thanks for your feedback.

Other than St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri is a American State!
Can't have any "city slickers" as Americans? 😂
Vote Republican 🔴🇺🇸
