Sorry another tip, try to carry a cheap watch too (invicta is a good one), so if you feel unsecure, chance the watch you are wearing and the thieves Will get the cheap one. It has worked for me a couple of times
Had my Jeweler engrave this on the inside the back of my Datejust with black diamond dial/Fluted ... If not (My Name) Watch is stolen Would never sell - Reward (My Number) (My Email) Guy got in my face, another guy pretended to break it up, watch smoothly taken off wrist. 3 days later a Jeweler called me and said "Saw the engraving inside the Rolex, was it stolen?" I said yes! And told him to call the cops, he did and I drove three cities over to get it back. He refused the reward.
I wonder where the threshold is for what they think is worth stealing. Would they go after a Tudor or Longines? Are they savvy enough to not be fooled by an homage?
Good question. We think that wearing a homage can be just as risky because the thief may think you have the real thing. Some lesser known brands may be a bit safer to wear.
@@bzee3717 If you shot someone who was trying to steal your watch, you're not golden. You could end up in prison. I think I'll wear my Hamilton if I'm anywhere sketchy instead.
Tudors are shitters and thieves dont care about Longines (lovely watches😊). No thief will bother unless its a mugging and you are in a blind alley. Why would you be there?
Great tips. But we should not be paranoid, otherwise the pleasure of collecting goes away. ❤
Good solid advice.

A couple of times?
How many times have you been robbed?
@@Independent_Voices It's an odd crime syndicate. They only target Invicta owners.
For anything over $10k strongly recommend watch insurance. If you can afford a $10k or higher watch you should be able to afford the insurance.

When I wear my Rolex am also wearing my Browning in my concealed holster
Probably living in a country that has over 30K gun deaths a year.
Not a solution any right thinking person would be looking for.
The Timepiece Gentleman I think committed fraud by saying he'd had been robbed but had basically stolen his customers watches himself!!!!
Another tip, I always try to use a chepa watch if im in
Great tips. Also don’t wear your expensive watches when flying. Guy lost his Rolex to thief on motorcycle, was being threatened with a gun.
Flying? Did the thief pull his motorcycle up to the plane on the tarmac?
He means dont go abroad with your expensive watch. I use my Grand Seiko watches when travelling.

Keep your head on a swivel, carry a gun legally and you’re golden

WEAR AN ATHLETIC WRISTBAND OVER YOUR WATCH WHEN IN PUBLIC, take off the wristband when you arrive at the restaurant/party etc
Heard of people getting shot because they had a fake Rolex on
Wild
Wear a real one then instead if wearing a fake one means you get shot
I only post my location and pictures of places I visit, after the fact…
If a person takes an interest in my watch when I'm out ill tell them it's just a copy
With high tax rates, you would think you can walk around safely with something you worked so hard for, but no.
Not since the defund the police movement
