That’s one reason Porsche and Corvette use dry sump oil system. The oil is not at the bottom of the hot engine getting heat soaked and also they never have oil starvation because it’s pump from external reservoir to engine and back. Heat dissipates and oil pressure stays constant.
Yeah, these cars have a fee set backs...the small engine block being one of them as well as heat dissipation. When I lifted up the hood my fingers sizzles on the prop rod. Left a mark. I am looking into some solutions and will update.

I found a few options, but they are expensive and I am not sure that they will fit with my CV Fabrications Race Intercooler. This IC mounts all the way up under the hood latch mechanism, and that is the same place that most of the oil coolers mount. I have also heard that running the Motul 300V Oil might help. I plan on trying this before investing in an oil cooler.
Car would likely be fine if there weren't so many cars on the track. The reduced speeds are what heat soaked the motor and I'm sure some of the other turbocharged cars were dealing with similar issues.
Yes, many cars had heat soak with those extreme Temps on the track. I think this car would do better on the Big Willow track instead of Streets. Less turns and longer straights.
The front grille shutters. You need to take out the fuse so they don't keep closing on you. They are meant for better mpg. Or you can add an extra windshield washer pump. And have it squirt the front of the radiator. You just squirt it like every lap
My car is a Performance Pack, so it doesnt have the Active Grill Shutters. I may consider the extra Windshield Washer pump idea. I have also considered getting an oil cooler or trans cooler.
@@mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539 yea. I noticed some hot temps in my lil turbo malibu when going up to lake arrowhead in the summer. No AC and it still hit 219. And I wasn't pushing it. Its kinda dumb how they skimp on cooling these new turbos. Can you run no hood at willow? And take off the plastic engine cover. That keeps in a ton of heat
@@nickmccain6598 Noy sure if I can run without a hood, but I have looked into getting a hood that has heat extraction vents. I also thought I could remove the hood lining material.
@@mustangmodsecoboostgarage6539 does your mustang have a rubber weather strip in the back of the hood. I removed mine to help some of the heat go out. But the AC air gets air from there. So the cabin wasn't as cold. But it was easy to remove and put back on for me. So it could be done for track days. But when I had it off. I would put my hand in that area after driving around. And it was crazy hot
I have the Performance Pack so it already has a larger Radiator, is the GT350 Radiator compatible with the EcoBoost? My Intercooler is taking up a lot of space in front of the Radiator, so not sure if it would work. I will do some research.

Yes, that is what I did. I sent them this link amd they had the pack made for me. Make sure to mention the year of your Mustang. They sent me the wrong hood kit at first, for '15 - '17 and the measurements were different. They are super easy to work with. They fixed the order and resent the new kit, no extra cost.

Having raced my 2019 Performance Pack Ecoboost at Willow Springs, I can attest to the level of performance they have. I have drag raced against some S550 GT Mustangs, and won. I have also been on the track with my car, which does not have the High Performance Package, nor does it have the Handling Pack with Magnaride, but it still performed very well. That is, up to the point when it reduced power due to temperatures. This is an issue with these cars, especially in the high desert of California where this race track lives. I believe that some modifications can be done to help reduce this problem, and I am in work trying to perform some of these mods to increase my cars performance on the track. Adding an Oil Cooler and Transmission Cooler will help greatly, buy also having the car professionally tuned to prevent the ECU from cutting power may be the first step to getting more out of the vehicle. Another major issue with this platform is the durability of the engine block. There have been many reported cases of a so called "ECOBOOM" that seems to have no rhyme or reason to when it occurs. The truth is that keeping the power output to below 400 hp and maintaining the vehicle meticulously can greatly reduce this from happening. Some people who want to make more power will add a larger turbo, which helps reduce the strain on the engine while adding additional hp, or building an engine block that has beefy side walls that greatly reduces the chance of stress fractures that cause rods and pistons to give out. This is all very expensive and if Ford wants to continue this platform then I believe they will need to make these corrections available. With all of that being said, this car is a beast for the price point and the smiles per gallon make it a tremendous offering from a US manufacturer. Also take in to consideration that both of the cars you mentioned are well over $100K. My EcoBoost was $35 and you can get them for way less.
