      the sectors exist beyond the edge of the map sector, when you go beyond the map sector border, the map will zoom out, meaning, each map you see in the overall map view, its actually zoomed in, and as you explore beyond the border, the map sector will just zoom out

    Starting a station is not a bad plan. Claytronics for end goal is always a solid investment, since it's used for station construction, but has a somewhat complex production line. Need antimatter cells, silicon wafers for microchips, graphene+superfluid coolant for quantum tubes, raw mats are energy cells, silicon, methane, hydrogen and helium. So you could start with silicon wafers to microchips, which is always a good sell, and you already have the miners for that.

    Each faction has a sub faction, ex- Paranid with Pontiflex, Argon with Antigon etc, and each faction has its ships, one is the vanguard and the other is the Sentinel. The differences are in the hull and speeds.

    If Hatikva remains clear of Xenon invasion. Then it might be better to centralise your hub. Honestly grand exchange is pretty good as just a hub as its pretty much central. and you already have it However, if Hatikva falls to Xenoscums. You might want to build factories in Argon Prime to fuel the wharf. The Accelerator Highway (jumpgate) is usually high traffic between Silent witness and Argon Prime. In my gameplay. The Xenoscums have 2 Defense platform on that vulnerable spot and shoot down every freighter that tries to get to Argon Prime and eventually starve Argon from much needed resources to produce ships. Personally, i kinda like Paranid ships. They seem more capable. But yeah, play close attention to Hatikva's Choice. That jump gate to Tharka's Sun is totally undefended and is basically an invitation for the Xenons to wreck face all over Hatikva.

    My previous comment WRT asteroid models wasn't to do with the type of xtals available (which IIRC is purely random), but to determine what the asteroid itself yields when mined (ie nothing, ore, silicon or ice), as you eventually noticed. That being said, if xtal hunting with your own ship (rather than simply following a miner around & scooping up what it drops), I /believe/ that using a mining laser will improve xtal yield over just a regular gun.. haven't really tested this, but it makes sense as the regular gun is more likely to destroy loot drops than a specialised mining tool
    To capture/own a sector for yourself you must have more defence platforms /with admin modules/ than any other single faction within the sector. If other NPC platforms exist the sector will be classified as 'contested'; if they're all exclusively yours then the sector classification changes to 'owned' (& BTW your owned sectors are a different green from TEL)
    LRS scans return different coloured pings (mostly) depending upon how valuable/desirable that item is (eg valuable/prioritised due to mission lockboxes vs only 1 or 2 locks). Be aware tho that some items returning yellow pings can also be v dangerous (eg mine-sabotaged asteroids or small autonomous xenon defence platforms)
    Sector borders/boundaries are fixed while in map mode for ease of drawing the 2d map projection, but within the sector itself they can effectively infinitly expand: there's no fixed 'sector wall' that you can't fly past. If you explore too aggressively this can lead to some awkward map scaling, with all the stations appearing to be contained within one tiny part of the sector, then most of the rest is effectively empty, so bear that in mind when asssigning explorer ships
    Yes, you can completely customise any ship loadout with different race's parts (eg Teladi shields on a Split chassis with Paranid engines & Argon guns) depending upon how you want to min/max that design
    When trying to board wrecks etc, don't let your ship get too close to the hull: the 'lock on' effect still needs a little room for maneuvers even without a pilot in the chair. I suspect the problem was that as you exited the chair your empty ship stopped synching its rotation with the wreck's, so allowing for some collision there. Also remember to use before you get up from your chair to ensure all your engines are set to 'dead stop'
    IIRC SW12 is a dead-end sector: there are no other gates leading to/from it (tho that may have changed with the DLC). However, the storyline is v interesting: look it up in the Encyclopaedia & read the background of some of the sectors you've discovered
    To train up your pilots quicker, buy all the basic & 1-star seminars then apply them until you can't use them anymore (each seminar trains ~1/3 of a star). The low-lvl seminars are cheap enough to lvl pilots quickly to 2 stars; after that you can simply have those pilots fly around exploring/trading/mining/WHY until they gain enough XP to reach lvl 3. Alternatively, 3* & 5* seminars can be gained from lockboxes or data points (rarely) or as mission rewards
    Check out the station calculator app that makes station construction (with all required modules/components etc for self-sufficiency) really easy & convenient! It's not a game mod: it's a separate app for X4 station design, similar to the old X3 calculator

    HOP ships are usually of the sentinel variants, a sturdier ship, but it comes at the cost of speed. Meanwhile, PAR uses vanguard variants, which are faster but more fragile. the actual equipment doesn't change. I believe that some ships are available only in one or the other factions.
    the same can be said with each of the other races. I know for sure that if you want the split frigate, you need to befriend the patriarchy, but I wouldn't be surprised that there are other cases like these spread out amongst the races
    I personally tend to Frankenstein my ships. I tend to favor Paranid and split ship designs and engines while equipping Teladi shields. I'm still experimenting with guns, but so far, the split disintegrator is my favorite... I seriously hate Teladi ship shapes and gun placements... too many blind spots on them or at least spots with minimal gun coverage. Yet they represent a big chunk of my fleet, for the same reasons -_- A big chunk of my fleet is made of ships stolen from pirates, which uses a lot the phoenix dd... can't fathom why

    The Hatikvah plot is a good start. Will also lead you into more interesting storylines and you get free ships along the way. If you really want to delve into economics already i recommend more miners instead of station construction. You need to make some investments and station profits start off slow. Plus you don't have many satellites yet. Personally i don't enjoy the crew micromanagement at all and recommend LearningAllTheThings mod.

    When you are looking for gates, you should use your long range scanner, too. It can reveal gates from a couple hundred km, if you charge it up and give it a little bit time to scan to that range. They will then pop up as "unknown object".. also I dont know what u should do I would maybe look what blueprints I can buy and then maybe decide to build a station.... • @Reddotzebra
      @Reddotzebra 4 роки тому +1

      I built my first station over in Teladi territory yesterday since Maja Dust and Spaceweed are legal there, but after staking out my claim on the gate crossing in Nopileos' Fortune (My station is smack dab in the middle) I felt mildly upset... You can just grab the most valuable lot in the system for free since nobody owns it, and it's right next to the best sales port for Spaceweed in the whole sector. Oh well, I suppose I'll just grab the large asteroid field as well and then build a second Teladinium forge in there so my mining fleet has something to unload at.

    • @SilasCole88
      @SilasCole88 4 роки тому +2

      @@Reddotzebra Nopileos' Fortune is just a good starting point for any new game. Don't have to pay for the lot and the traffic through those sectors is already good. It's literally where I always start building first to ultimately build a self sustained shipyard. What I usually do is go from the lowest tier factories and work my way up to the second tier and then finally to the third tier. After getting to that point your making enough money to start a self sustained shipyard, but not quite. I have blueprints of the stations I've built going from the bottom to the top. A refined goods complex, high tech factory complex, a ship tech factory, a mega factory containing all three factories, then finally a self sustained shipyard. I usually only build one of each, the mega factory gets built up to being a shipyard but I use the shipyard blueprint so that whenever I claim a sector that I want an economy in I can just load that up and don't have to worry about modifying it other than adding more factories that can't produce more than what's being used. I wonder if there is a way to upload those blueprints so other people could use them. I would really like to show them off, spent a lot of time making them look organized.

    Just set those autominers to nividium mate, and sell manually at trading stations until there's no demand. You can pretty much buy a new autominer after each completed haul. Also, I'd drop satellites next to the pirate station and the illicit goods factories. If anybody wants weed'n stuff, it's them. Trading stations buy it too, but the police might get your ships around those. In general, just check who buys what, how many and for what price.

      It's fairly simple. Pilots gain skill by flying around doing stuff for you (eg exploration, mining, reminders of trade details etc), but you can apply 'boosts' in the form of 'seminars' to quickly lvl a pilot to at least 2*. Each seminar increases a pilot's skill by ~1/3*, so 3 basic seminars will gain you a 1* pilot; a further 3 1* seminars will gain you a 2* pilot. These low-lvl seminars are pretty cheap, & available from most stations' onboard shops (go to Trader's Corner), so stock up with as many as you come across whenever you can
      Higher lvl seminars are available as random rare loot from destroyed ships, lockboxes, data points etc, but are most commonly awarded as mission rewards. Otherwise it's a long hard slog to keep those pilots flying around to gain XP naturally.. but it'll come sooner than you may expect, esp if you power towards the SETA personal tech upgrade
