250 lbs 6’ 2. 90% groomers. Chasing my kids around. Used to board on an unforgiving Sims in the 2000s. Getting back to boarding now. Im 53 years old now, and aside from carving and hitting a few side hits I don’t see myself getting too crazy. I need a playful, forgiving mostly carving board for a big guy. I’m athletic, and solid, but well past my prime. Any help is appreciated. 12 size boot
So based on the info given it's really hard to help. If you want to do this properly and get detailed advice hit me up here. thegoodride.com/snowboard-binding-and-boot-advice/
Thank you for your reviews! I’ve seen tons of them! So, compared to the Cardiff Powgoda, the Powgoda is more forgiveness? If I’m a 6.3, weight 183lbs and 13boot size, do you think the 162 will be ok on the powgoda and the Wolle? Any toe drag?
Thanks! The Powgoda 162 will be a little small for 13's. I wish they made a 166 or a wide version of the Powgoda for guy's like you. If you can wait to buy the Wolle Fish till next year as they are adding recycled ABS to the sidewalls and it will make the ride soo much better. Or If you want to get into it more hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
Great review! I’m undecided between the 153 and the 157 as i fall in both weight categories I am 6’0 tall, weigh 160lbs and wear boot size 9.5/10 I have also seen people that weight less than me ride a 157 What would you recommend?
Thanks! If this is mainly for pow and good conditions go 157 for sure. That is more the correct size for your specs. I'd only go 153 if you see lots of tracked up/uneven pow days or plan to ride this a lot on groomers in all types of conditions and value control over everything else. Also wait till next year to buy this. They are adding recycled ABS sidewalls to the 2025 model and it will be a lot more damp/much better in uneven snow.
Pretty similar. I think both can dabble with a center weighted carve but like a little more back foot weight coming out of the carve to keep the tail from washing.
Yeah thats what it says but I rode this for a week(review coming). The rails are recycled ABS and you can see it in the pics. Its either inside under the new ABS or not there at all anymore and its a mistake. Whatever it is, its way less chattery.
@@thegoodridesnow that’s awesome! Good to know I sent them an email to ask about it and they still said it bamboo and cork -> must be a mistake. can’t wait for the review. I’m 5’6 210lbs - size US8 boots -> what size should I get? 157 or 162?

@@thegoodridesnow Legend, thank you!!
How is this board compared to Rome Stalefish carving groomers? Is this also a backfoot carver?
Pretty similar. I think both can dabble with a center weighted carve but like a little more back foot weight coming out of the carve to keep the tail from washing.
Hey James is this better or worse than the Salomon taka on groomer carves?
About the same. Just a ton wider.
Looks like Salomon have recycled ABS sidewalks for 2025! Wanna try one of these.
Yes. It's soo good to see and rides soo much better. Updated review coming
It is still stated bamboo and cork for sidewall on their website 🤷♂️
