I'm tryna get to that level, I had it in my 20s, lost it in my 30s raising up babies, now they're older I really wanna re find that in myself, for my own benefit and to teach these babies so they can understand and have a creative example. Love this channel.
The saying "There's nothing new under the sun" has been replaying in my mind for a while now. I have been struggling with my creativity for a while and one of the things that really stopped me from creating is the idea that I have to create something that has never been done before or that's new, but the reality of that is near impossible. Doing things that have been done before is still being creative, it's really about putting your own spin on it and experimenting. I'm not saying to copy someone's work or style exactly, just wanted to put in that disclaimer in case anyone thinks I'm am :D Anyway that helped me a little and I hope it will help someone out there too :)
Some of the best creative breakthroughs I’ve had were because I was actively trying to imitate someone else’s style. Here’s the thing though, you’re not them - so you’ll never do it. What usually happens is you stumble into a new variation of it, the “You” variation. It’s influenced by them, but it’s completely new and specific to you.
@@hallease so true. Once you get over the comparison and just start enjoying the process of making something it really creates a flow of inspiration and effort coming together harmoniously. Thanks again for the inspiration, when I'm down I will definitely watch this and read the comments to perk me up.
When I'm in a block I work in a different medium. I also eat & make sure I'm not just hangry, take a nap, drink some water/tea and binge on basic needs.
I've been teaching myself to write guitar tablature. I wanted to play song (Peter Tosh: Jah Guide- acoustic version) but there weren't any tabs, so I started ear training and making the tablature myself. This is my first time ever doing this and it's coming along great! Feels like I just reached a new skill tier.
I am someone who was a creative child but then I let productivity and work take over as my sole purpose and focus. I’d like to be creative again. Thank you for this nudge. I just need to make time and space in my life for creativity
I have been having issues with my creativity levels to help me grow even my channel and am glad I was already subscribed to your channel thank you this is amazing thank you for sharing I appreciate and stay blessed🙏❤️❤️
I don't know how you make me comment on these videos. Love the edition, love your capability of making the laundry scene a little piece of art, is the art of being still. Plus your locks, they look amazing, and your gorgeous plants matching the green of your watch. I know you probably didn't think about it, but it catch my eye. I really appreciate your work. Thanks for keeping your good work.

I'm a Creative Writer. One kf my goals this year was to just write - not write, then edit, then agonize, then start over - just write. And it's causing me to have to confront the overly critical way I carry my creative self. I expect too much of her, and don't leave much room for her to just TRY. It's all about grace and giving myself the room I need to give my words a shot, however they appear on the page.

Thank you for this. I am a creative that mostly expresses through writing. My creative process involves a lot of brainstorming until I have enough to pull a story together. I start the beginning and outline as I go since generally I know where I want to end up at the end of the story and major plot points. If I get blocked, I start working on another creative outlet that allows my brain to relax a bit. I love to crochet, so that is a really good one for me to relax until another idea sparks. I also have a bank of ideas and concepts across different notebooks that I can always refer to for inspiration.
This is very helpful!! I *always* forget how divers my creativity can be, it's not really limited to one medium and I never seem to remember that 😅 To get out of a block: I let myself be still, just let my thoughts be and sometimes a spark emerges ✨
Jazz is my go to background noise lately, any new music is helpful when I'm bored and can't think, cleaning or exercise can help, also taking a break and playing with an old hobby that's been left behind over the years has been really refreshing.
Completely agree, we're all creative. I think of creativity as a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger you become. What helps me get out of a "creative block" (which I don't believe in creative blocks but I understand when people use the term), I create without the attachment or idea of it having to be perfect or sharing it on social media. For me, this looks like pouring paint and an idea always comes after I just start. Love seeing the BTS in Patreon, thanks for sharing 💘
I came here from your just egg review that you made a while ago, and honestly im prepared to stay! Your vibes are so calming and relaxing, and your channel aesthetics are clean and enjoyable. I wish you success in the future!
Thanks so much for this video Hallease. I realized I stopped making the stuff I wanted to make and just did what people paid me to write. I need to remember that creativity like you said it doesn't stop. Experimenting doesn't stop nor should it. When I get stuck I write with my non dominant hand lol. It's probably placebo but I feel like it forces my overthinking impulses to slow down, then I get back to it.

Thanks so much. I needed this and I also love seeing water splash about like that. Sometimes when I'm in a block I make a deal with myself to make bad art for 5 minutes. Usually, once I start I can't stop. Otherwise, I can go about the rest of my day without guilt.
