Island Of The Lizard King was the FF book I was obsessed with as a kid. I can pretty much remember every single encounter in the game, so it's pretty entertaining to watch Josh go through it, who seemingly has never played it before. I knew immediately that if Mungo didn't get run through by the pirates he was going to get eaten by a giant crab.
Josh: Do you wanna feel old? Anyone remember the RTS game Dawn of War. That game is 2 decades old. My Ancient Arse: That's a long time? I remember gaming in the mid '80s. Now I DO feel old. Thanks, Josh!😞
Right? My first computer had a screen that had four colours - you could choose from: black, white, blue, purple... or a blinding red, green, yellow, blue... and games came on weird little plastic squares...
I still have a really thick magazine of cheats and guides lying around. It had a complete guide to Digimon World in it - a game I never played because I didn't have a PS1. But the guide made it sound really cool.
Well its...........a mixed bag. From what I hear, its hard for Digimon fans to unanimously agree on a game they all love. And I think thats because they kinda had a similar problem to Sonic: They constantly change genre's instead of committing to one and refining it. I have fond memories of it, but I wouldn't want to play it today.
My current favourite little English language insanity is chai latte. Neither of these words are Englsih, but that's fine because we mug languages. The problem is that combining an Asian language word with a Latin based word to call tea spiced with some generalised version of garam chai "tea milk" is obscene considering no sane person in this country drinks tea without milk. Noting the milk in tea in England is like noting hunks of fecal matter in one of our rivers. It's redundant, we don't do rivers without shit, we don't do tea without milk.
Good shout made about the mulan song but the one song that is even better is the gladiators theme tune. It’s actually imposible to listen to that and not start working out.
I believe it's a reference to The Doors frontman Jim Morrison who took a lot of drugs and declared himself the Lizard King. If anything, I imagine this book is also a nod to The Doors.
@@ravecrab Thanks for the info. As is probably obvious by my previous comment, I'm not too well versed in Doors music. But I feel like if I tried to get into it now I'd only end up disappointed that Jim Morison isn't an actual Lizard King. Thanks for ruining music, Josh! (jk)
Oddly enough, the early books in this series are quite hard... Scorpion Swamp (#8) is an easy-ish one....from about 20 onwards, I don't remember them being quite so punishing
any kind souls care to share what time roughly josh streams? i've popped in a few times for the past few saturdays and haven't managed to catch a stream, cheers.
I would be up for watching a playthrough of Morrowind! Have you played it before, Josh? It's one of those games where knowing your way around is the difference between slapstick-incompetence and literally becoming a demigod at lvl 3. Probably my favority Bethesda RPG ever; it just gets out of your way and lets you play, and if you break the game-balance completely then that's fine. I kind of admire that, in a game.
11:40 for anyone wanting to skip the technical difficulties
Thanks :) 😊
i remember reading a book like this about pyramid. good times
Ah perfect just about to go to sleep, Josh's soothing voice shall help me drift to lizardous dreams

2:29:13 I'm going to stream 7 o'clock on Saturday and 7 o'clock on Sunday. What's the matter, Josh can't remember a simple 'rhyme'?
This is some very Mungo content
I used to have this as a kid

It's not the opening of Halo, it's the opening of the level "Halo", the second level of Halo.
The intro make me laugh 😆
Prepare to be whelmed lol
32:33 the ad bot is here. For personal use.
2:18:55 bro was speaking directly to me 😂😭
Why is Mungo considered a curse word to UA-cam's captions lol
I envy Josh from 4 months ago. I need a goat oat bar right now.
I could edit that, but I’m leaving the ambiguity up to the gods.
Do you suppose that line from The Simpsons, when Lisa is out of her mind and yells, _"I am the Lizard Queen!",_ is a reference to this adventure book?
No. This is about a Lizard King.

Are we going down river kok?
Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced Throatwarbler Mangrove.

Damn. I really thought Mungo could survive more than 4 pages.
I have this one !
