0:29 I had an issue with wsjt-x where some bands would crash the whole program after an error code. Took me weeks to figure out that winding the usb wire around a toroid about 8 times completely eliminated the issue. RFI choke everything!
Yes, RFI can be a real issue and cause a lot of frustration trying to track down. Glad you got it working!
What Aara FM setting do you use? for PTT?
Check out our ordering a pizza with a Baofeng. I cover all of the Vara settings in detail in that video.
Thanks for the response, I will check it out!
What size ferrites do you have on the Anker splitter? I have the same one.
Not sure which sizes they are, I had a multipack use the most appropriate size bead for the wire.
@@WaveTalkers Guess I’ll just get a bunch and figure it out. I think they have sizes but I don’t know what size a standard USB cable is.
@@N4EJM many Ferrites will list the inner diameter of the core. You can match the appropriate Ferrite size for your wire by messing the diameter of the wire and casing. Suggest getting ferrites that fit around the wire diameter without cutting through the casing. A little loose fitting is fine.
Always be choking :)
Choking what? 🐓
@@chrissewell1608 Better known as RFI chokes.
