Watching the delicious food is one thing, but hearing the amazing stories behind places like this and seeing the next generation carry on the legacy is what makes this show one of the best EVER! God bless you all
Before I was 10 years old my Daddy was taking me to Henderson's off of Hatcher Street (Malcomx X Blvd now) ordering me an order of backs. My 58 years old today and still go to Henderson's and get my order of chicken backs.
I was at the Chevron station at 35/Medical District a couple of weeks ago and noticed an impressive line at the chicken drive-thru next door. How fantastic to see this clip about that place!
Used to drive through every Friday night after we left Cutters in Duncanville! I couldn't wait to eat that fried chicken! The fries the bread and the pickles peppers and carrots ohh so good together! I can still taste it tonight! Gosh that was a long time ago! I'd forgotten all about it, brought back some good memories, been gone from BIG D for many years now.. Those were the days.
Man I watched his show back in the early 90s. 30 plus years and still going. Just shows Texas is so unique you can still find something new old something old everywhere you go

Glad the daughter is there to bring the legacy forward. It's a plus she likes the work and feels confident in her ability.

The reason the bread is under the chicken is to absorb the grease.
Makes the chicken perfect crispy without all the grease. 👍
How is the bread's taste and texture? Would enjoy eating there I know.
@@restoreallthings1806 what???
The bread is used just to absorb the grease from the fried chicken .
I reckon some fellas like Edgar might know what that bread taste like lol
