Used to come here every Saturday after 6:00 mass with my grandma, grandpa, and mom. I will be 50 in December. Great food and great memories!
Respect for the traditions and passion this family has put into their business... love how they honor the memory of Elnora the waitress... 1948-1976... 28 years of her life she gave to her job... and this family... God bless Texas! I enjoy watching the Texas Country Reporter... howdy from the land of fried chicken... Louisville, Kentucky, USA!
Y’all gave us the best wooden baseball bat!
Yale and Crosstimbers, born in 58 and grew up less than 1/2 mile away. One of the few great places left in Houston. Still go there today.
You’re by all the good places….BBQ Inn, Alamo Tamale, The Hungry Farmer. Yum!
Ate there yesterday. Fried chicken is a 30 minute wait but well worth it. Im 66..been goin there since i was a baby. 2 times a week..waitresses are devine. Like it should be. Love this place.
The food is amazing! Customer service is excellent ❤
Father & sons look alike just like twins they are definitely blessed.
Love this place. Not a native Houstonian, but got lucky enough to find this special spot when I saw an article about it several years ago.
I told my daughter wanted to go to Texas so we can eat at all these wonderful restaurants. Looks great. We live in Missouri!!😊
Genuine friendly people, what’s not to love?
My mom used to eat there every week after having her hair done. Food is great and service is equal to it.
As a chef, it it stories like these that matter. Reaching people (customers and workers) at the dinner table level. It means something. This father and son care about what they do. They are professionals and know how to bring people together. God bless them.
Some of the best grub you’ll ever have - always a treat to eat at BBQ Inn - love it.
Best fried shrimp you will ever have the standard by which all are judged
My next time in Houston, I am going to Barbecue Inn !!
Still go there best place ever . Can’t ever get past the fried shrimp and tartar sauce. Been going there since the 70’s . I just hope their kids keep it going. Love this place.
Oh my gosh everything looks so good including the decor.
We are from Royse City near Rockwall at Lake Ray Hubbard, now retired in the Philippines but on our next trip stateside

Love love love! I believe this place was my second date with my now husband love their fried shrimp. Even order their tartar sauce and ranch dressing to take home. ❤❤❤

Best fried shrimp in Houston.
Better than Christies? I've gotta try this place!
We ate there last Friday to Celebrate Father's Day. I've been eating there since the 1970's.
My kind of place.
Many times ate here.........really enjoy it.!!!!
They forgot to mention the PIES!!
I went to high school with David's sister Cindy, and I never knew that her family owned this place! Now I need to get my CFS fix...
Besides, no doubt, being a Fine waitress &a great employee, Elnora was a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN! Always inspiring to see a company think that much of there people 👍
Great food! The waitstaff is wonderful and most have been there for more than a decade, 2 decades in some cases. I have to agree that the fried shrimp is really good, so are the fried oysters. Really like their ribs too! Try the loaded baked potato...yum.
yummy ! I wish we had good food here in Oregon !
Same in WA
Y’all would love Houston. Lots of good food….whatever you have a taste for, we have it!😂
God Bless us all❤Keep the Faith ✝️🕊🙏🏼❤️
They really do have a great classic fried chicken!
The shrimp is real good. Lemon pie is good too
we were just in Texas!
next time when I drive through from the midwest
Only native Houstonians know about this place, and it's not in the best neighborhood. Fake Californians that think all of Oak Forest is called the Heights don't know about it at all.
😂😂Right! And Third Ward, now “Midtown”. Nothing like being a native Houstonian…we’re rare!
I had the chicken fried chicken there...was quite tasty indeed!
Looks really good . Y'all should try Babe's Chicken in DFW . Roanoke was the original spot .
I love the chicken there!
Ok I must go when in TX
Ranch dressing is real good. Everything is good
The owner looks and sounds exactly like Nick Saban 😳
The fried chicken is the best!!!!
Chicken fried steak. That tells me that you have a great number of exceptionally hard working physical laborers toiling in sub freezing temperatures who desperately need the 2,500 calorie meals these dishes make for.
THE BEST THE BEST Lucky enough to say first time was 1975 !
Great food all of it Hands dwn best fried chicken like it was fried 1946
A sign that says No Blacks Allowed , You know your lyin
Those days are long gone. Can’t try that anywhere in Houston these days!
ronaldlicky732 - quit being tarded'...
I'm 49 dude an from Houston an not once did I ever consider thos place...wtf is wrong with me..😂
H-Town!!
I'm gonna call and see if they will deliver, to St Louis. 😋
😂…y’all have good BBQ there too! We’re blessed to have so many good places in Houston.
😊
Pay for a new ceiling..
Wonder if the fried chicken is better than KFCs original recipe fried chicken?
Way better!
What they didn't talk about is when black people couldn't eat there. If you noticed in the video, the only black people there were working.
I worked there and it’s the most racist establishment I ever seen. They have kept the tradition of not allowing black people to work in the front as a host or waitress. U can only work in the kitchen and mr Wayne doesn’t allow the waitress to speak to the all black kitchen workers. Traditionally blacks couldn’t dine in they had to receive there food out the back door. I’m seen Wayne pick food out the garbage heat it up on the grill and reserve it. The only reason the chicken ever runs out is because mr David can remember to order properly due to the amount of illegal narcotics he uses daily. The hygiene of the men seasoning the bbq and cooking the chicken is appalling at best. I have seen him lick his hands from the mustard and continue to season the public meat and food. While jerry the head cook scratches so bad he tears his skin apart in the flour bowl because he can’t get ride of the bed bugs at his residence. Which he had for over a year. That picture of the lady is Wayne’s ex mistress that he had relations with while he was married. The place is full of roaches. So happy when I was able to find another job because the treatment of people by them is horrible. There very sexist. Just wanted people to know the truth about this establishment because in Houston there are hidden gems and great places to eat. But this ain’t one of them. There over priced as well for 3 pieces of chicken and u could get robbed in the location as well. If u wanna get there don’t let me stop you but I would have my coins for a different bbq place.
Ya know, people can say anything, especially hiding behind a keyboard. If things were really that bad, somebody would've gone to the city or the TV station by now, and it would be out there. It sounds like sour grapes to me........
I stopped watching it she took over the show! 🙄🙄🙄
You’re killing your selfs slowly eating that greasy food
Overeating Americans. The human body is not designed consume so much food. Obesity is a serious problem in this country
